Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
sugamonkey 6/29/2010 4:42:00 PM
Got this in a swap. It was ok. Made my nose oily even though I don't have oily skin. My makeup looked ok at the end of the day-better than Smashbox Photofinish Light. Sephora Collection Smoothing Primer is still the best for a smooth look and long lasting makeup IMO.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light

Got this in a swap. Used it for the first time today and my makeup looked like it was gone halfway through the day. Isn't this supposed to make my makeup look smoother and last longer?! It also made my face oily, even though I don't have oily skin. Won't be using again. Sephora's primer is good and I'm going to try MAC's Prep and Prime tomorrow.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium
sugamonkey 6/23/2010 11:41:00 AM
I have this is Medium-Plus (NC30 Asian w/yellow undertones) to go over Mineralize Foundation compact. I LOVE IT! I use it over foundation for more coverage and alone for light/luminous look when it's too hot. Alone it can feel a bit dry on my normal skin. I use the Sigma Kabuki to apply. Too bad no mirror. EDIT: Doesn't last long and looks too powdery on my slightly dry skin when used on it's own, but looks great over foundation. Powders and powder foundations and me just aren't friends:(

Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Eye Crease Brush
sugamonkey 6/23/2010 11:33:00 AM
Love this brush. Nice dense bristles to deposit color and perfect size to contour the crease. My go to. Better than the MAC and Stila crease brushes I have-they were too big and fluffy. My HG.

Crème -MAC - Mineralize Foundation
sugamonkey 6/1/2010 11:43:00 PM
Wanted a compact foundation that didn't dry out my skin like Studiofix. Tried Mineralize and I love it. Makes skin look smooth and airbrushed (I use the mineralize compact powder on top). I use the Sigma Synthetic Flat Top brush-it's better than MAC's 130 stippling brush. Beautiful. Be careful not to put too much on though-I dip my brush into the compact 1-3 times depending on which part of my face I am applying it to. Lasts all day and doesn't make my face oily-I have normal/combo skin.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #130 Short Duo Fibre Brush
sugamonkey 6/1/2010 11:24:00 PM
Brush head too small and it sheds a lot. It does make applying cream foundation easier and looks smooth, but it wasn't worth the price tag since it shed every time I used it which meant I had to spend a few minutes picking the hairs off my face. For me, the brush head was too small and it took a while to smooth the foundation over my face. I got the Sigma synthetic flat top instead and I love it-bigger head, no shedding, smooth application, and 1/2 the price!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)
sugamonkey 6/1/2010 11:22:00 PM
LOVE this brush. Originally got the MAC 130 brush to apply MAC Mineralize foundation compact but the brush head was too small and dense that I had to use lots of pressure to smooth the foundation into my skin AND it SHED like CRAZY and the short bristles stuck on my face! So, I got the SIGMA brush because of the great reviews and I am so glad! Bigger head and smooths right on and DOESN'T SHED. Half the price of the MAC brush too-Score!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - SS182 Kabuki Brush
sugamonkey 6/1/2010 11:16:00 PM
Got this because of the MAU reviews and because I didn't want to spend the $$$ for the MAC Kabuki brush. This is the first kabuki I've used so I have nothing to compare it too, but I like it a lot. Very soft and doesn't shed. It does have a slight chemical smell but it doesn't bother me. I use it to apply MAC Mineralize pressed powder-beautiful!

Lip Liners -MAC - Cremestick Liner - Sublime Culture
sugamonkey 5/29/2010 2:23:00 PM
Love it! Looks great w/ High Tea l/s and other pink or peach toned lip colors. Perfect nude pink on Asian NC 20-30. Will buy again. Not as pink as Spice, not as brown as Stripdown, and not as pale as Subculture. Perfect!

Blush -NARS - Luster
sugamonkey 5/29/2010 2:18:00 PM
Gorgeous! Gives that peachy/pinky healthy glow! If you are Asian w/yellow undertones, NC20-25, TRY IT! Thank you MAU reviewers for getting me to go out and get this! EDIT: Hm...with a bronze smokey eye, I need to pack this on in order to not look pale against the dark eyes. I prefer MAC Warm Soul for more color on the cheeks, when I need it.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lip Liner-Stripdown

My HG liner for nude/peach/pink lips. Purchased many times. Beautiful pink/brown liner that goes w/all pink and peach nude colors. LOVE IT! FYI-Asian NC20-30.

Lip Liners -MAC - Subculture
sugamonkey 5/26/2010 5:05:00 PM
Stripdown is my HG that goes with every nude color. But, I wanted a more pale pink liner so tried this one. It's ok but will probably return cuz it washes me out a little. I am Asian, NC20-30. EDIT #1: Got Mac cremeliner in Sublime Culture instead-not as pale and looks great-has a bit more pink so doesn't wash me out. EDIT #2: Got Subculture again because Sublime Culture warms my pinky nude lippies too much and Subculture keeps them pinky/nude.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash BIG

Does give dramatic, full, and kinda long lashes, BUT, smears and flakes really bad. Returned.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
sugamonkey 5/26/2010 12:57:00 PM
I would give this 3.5 lippies. I have lashes that are straight and point down (Asian). I wasn't sure at first about this mascara, but after wearing for a week, really like it! I needed a replacement for my discontinued HG 2000 calorie. This does give fuller lashes but not as much as I want and it doesn't lengthen much. Pros: buildable and doesn't clump or flake. Cons:doesn't give much length and doesn't give va-va-voom lashes.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in High Tea
sugamonkey 5/19/2010 11:52:00 AM
Beautiful nude/pink color w/slight shimmer (Asian w/yellow undertones-NC30). Got Patisserie first but it washed me out cuz too gold so I got High Tea instead cuz more pink. I wear w/ MAC Suculture liner to give it a bit more color so I don't risk looking washed out. Looks fab with a bronzey smokey eye.
