Eye Shadow -Stila - Eyeshadow
Stacy 9/12/2002 9:48:00 AM
Stila's shadows are my favorite, and my other brands tend to be ignored in favor of my Stila palettes. I love the soft texture and blendability and nice pigment. They last well on my lids (but not as well as MAC) and easily last the day if I wear a base. The color selection is amazing and many of the shades look great across a huge variety of skintones. I'm not terribly impressed with the mattes but the shimmers are wonderful.
I've never even noticed the cardboard packaging because I've always purchased the palettes. I love the convenience of having all my shadows there in an 8-pan (more like an 8-pan, a 4-pan, a 6-pan, and so on...)

Eye Shadow -Stila - Starlight Eye Shadow
Stacy 9/12/2002 9:42:00 AM
Starlight is a beautiful shimmery champagne shade, not as pinky or as frosty as Kitten. It's more wearable for everyday. It brightens my eyes and makes a great base for just about any shadow. If I had to choose between this and Kitten, Starlight would win because of the frost factor.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Cassis Eyeshadow
Stacy 9/12/2002 9:38:00 AM
I love Cassis as a liner for my blue eyes. It makes them look nearly aqua. Cassis is a deep blue-purple shade with a hint of shimmer. It's too dark for me to wear in the crease but I love it as a liner or lightly on the lid for a smoky look.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:28:00 PM
I just wrote about Brule being my staple base shade. Shroom is second to Brule. It's a light creamy beige with a hint of shimmer. It isn't too shimmery, even for daytime wear in a conservative office, like another love, Stila Kitten, can be. It's beautiful on the lids!

Mascara -MAC - Pro Lash Mascara Charcoal Brown
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:17:00 PM
I'm usually a drugstore mascara kind of girl because I replace it every 2-3 months. I decided to try MAC Prolash because it isn't all that much more expensive than the low end brands, and I *think* you can return the empty tubes for Back2MAC. I really like this mascara. It makes my lashes look long and full and enhances the curl I already have in them. It doesn't clump or flake. I have this in Charcoal Brown, which is a great color for me (blonde hair, blue eyes). It's dark enough to define but not so deep that it looks unnatural.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Brule
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:13:00 PM
Brule is my staple base shadow. I'm ready to buy my 3rd pan, and I haven't been using it for all that long. I never use anything up! It's a matte light beige shade that is close to my skintone but better. It evens out my lids and brightens my eyes. I can wear it with any shades, whether warm or cool.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in O
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:07:00 PM
"O" was one of the first MAC products I purchased when our counter first came to town. I wanted something new but gave the MA a strange look when I saw this bronzey looking lipstick she pulled out. It was gorgeous on though, a sheer berry red with gold shimmer. It can be dressed up or down depending on what liner you wear with it. It looks different on everyone.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam IV
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:05:00 PM
I love this lipstick! The MA described it to me as a combination between "O" and New York Apple, both of which I love. It's a pinky berry shade with some red in it and golden shimmer. It brightens my face (blonde hair, blue eyes, MAC NW20) without being too bright and shocking. It will be beautiful for fall and winter. I love the texture of MAC's frost lipsticks as well.

Scrubs -Totally Juicy - Hot Apple Sugar Body Scrub
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:03:00 PM
This scrub smells wonderful, just like a fresh apple. I have tried using it over dry skin like the package recommended, and it was harsh. I then tried using it over wet skin, and it worked much better. I felt the warming effect only a little when I used it dry. I am addicted to this scent and will likely repurchase this as soon as I'm done since it is so cheap!

Lipstick -Too Faced - Lipstick in Heartbreaker
Stacy 9/11/2002 8:00:00 PM
Gorgeous shade...a shimmery pinky berry. If you like MAC "O" and Viva Glam IV, you would probably really like this as it looks like a combo of the two. It feels great on the lips and lasts a long time on without being drying. The scent is great...chocolate!

Lipstick -Too Faced - Lipstick
Stacy 9/11/2002 7:57:00 PM
I am a huge fan of Too Faced lipsticks. The texture is wonderful...long lasting but not drying, and they smell like chocolate. The packaging is really cute too...black and silver striped tube. The color selection is a little limited but seems to be getting better.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in Plastique
Stacy 9/2/2002 10:37:00 AM
Plastique and I have a love/hate relationship. Sometimes, I really love it and think it looks great. Sometimes, it washes me out. It really depends on what color of clothes I am wearing. It is a gorgeous color though...a bronze/peachy/pink shade that works well with a lot of different liners. I will probably repurchase just for those days that I love it!

Eye Shadow -Bloom - Eye Shadow in Lavender
Stacy 9/2/2002 10:30:00 AM
This is a beautiful medium shimmery lavendar shade (think a less pink and less sheer Stila Charm) that looks great on my blue eyes. The packaging is adorable, a little silver compact with a mirrow. The pigment is excellent, and it's very soft and blendable. I'd like to try more Bloom shadows.

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Lip Gloss - Ruby Sugar
Stacy 8/31/2002 10:53:00 AM
I agree with many others that these glosses are overpriced and the brush is terrible. However, Ruby Sugar is one of the prettiest glosses I own. It's a very sheer pinky red. I love to pair it with Ruby Shimmer lipstick, which is a similar but more pigmented color, for a more dramatic shade. I'm actually wearing the combo in my profile picture of the Christmas party. It's a great wearable red lipstick for fair blondes!

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Lime Basil Mandarin
Stacy 8/29/2002 10:24:00 AM
I received this fragrance in a swap a while back. I was looking forward to trying it because I thought it would be a beautiful light citrus with a hint of spice from the basil. I spritzed a tiny bit on. Like grapefruit, I found this one strong and bitter. I had to go wash it off. On my way to the bathroom, I passed a co-worker and asked her thoughts. She said, "old lady perfume." Neither of us were impressed!
