Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes~Waterproof
SimpleNSexy 12/5/2011 7:53:00 PM
Originally I wasn't gonna buy this based on the rating here. But I caved :l Price: ~$11 CAD Length: impressively long after 2-3 coats Volume: buildable w/minimal clumping I def like this one better than Million Lashes. This DOES give me the falsies look if/when I invest some time. On the side note, it can be a b*tch to remove. Also, I feel like this leans more towards being a lengthening mascara then a volumizing mascara. And my lashes stay curled all day. But it irritates the heck out of my eyes. contacts wearer, stay cleat of this!!
I used to use this until last year when I discovered NYX. It's a nice mix of plum and berry collour. Pretty pigmented for a cheapie. Stayed about 5h on my super oily skin. The $5 price tag can't hurt ;) Not a bad choice if ur just starting to get into blushes. Rec for fair-medium to medium and olive skin tones
The name says it all. After my immense success w/MAC pigments, this was a huge letdown Colour: sparkly copper with sheen This is basically a copper glitter that is by no means sheer. The colour in the jar is the colour u get. But the fall-out is HORRIBLE!!!!! Even w/kleenex pressed under my eye, the sparkles went everywhere!!! (how'd it end up on my chin?!!) So yeah, not even gonna buy a full size or use the rest
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
SimpleNSexy 10/19/2011 7:16:00 PM
As a person w/oily skin and nose, I need a good powder. I'm not into foundation so all I ask for is sheer, matte goodness Price: ~$12 CAD Pkg: slide-out mirror and powder puff Colour: Beige M2-2.5- yellowish beige Finish: dry matte Oil Control: 3-4h After 3h my face is a little glowy but not greasy I have acne-prone/sensitive skin as well but it hasn't broken me out yet :)
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expertwear eye shadow in Creme de Cocoa

This little gem was a pleasant surprise hit. Price: $4-ish CAD Colour: matte chocolate brown This is a lovely deep brown colour for any skin tones. It's also a good contour shade for medium skin tones <3 I use it more as as contour shade for cheeks everyday
Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes - waterproof

So much hype, so little payoff Price: ~$10 CDN Pkg: shiny gold tube, mid-sized brush w/plastic bristles Length: meh Volume: def not "millionized" I tried the brush and though 'meh'. So I whipped out my beloved Maybelline Falsies Flared brush. What a diff a brush makes! It gives more volume, length, and lift. But still no better than a ''good'' The Colossal is the only "abso-effing-lutely repurchase" mascara for me :|
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
SimpleNSexy 10/11/2011 8:08:00 PM
Liquid e/l is my fave for its intensity. One of my fave YouTube MA adores this so I thought why not? Price: ~$10 CDN Pkg: thin felt tip applicator Colour: matte black I love that the felt tip is fine and draws super-thin line. I have very oily lids and this holds up all day. But smudges a bit on lower lash liner after a few hrs So yeah, I'd rec this to anyone<3 Btw it's pronounced lean-uhr en-tense cuz c'est francais. It just irks me when people say it wrong on YouTube *UPDATE* Lolz. So I've worn this for a week now and it's absolute BEST! This wears beautifully w/o smudging, flaking, or fading. Seriously, u can nap w/this on and it still looks the same
Only got a sample but will buy full size Colour: pale yellow-toned beige Finish: matte Texture: buttery It dries in a flash and doesn't look cakey. I was looking for a base for non-yellow-based e/s. There's minimal creasing by the end of the day. Really great skin-toned base for fair to medium skintones, I guess. Will try Painterly for comparison
Powder -Cover Girl - Fresh complexion oil control makeup (powder foundation)

So now that I'm past my "volcano phase" I was looking for sheerer fdn. Mmu are great but often opaque and obviously made-up looking. I used to use this, left it, and came back. Price: around $10 CDN Pkg: slim compact Colour: Buff Beige 625 cool-toned medium beige Coverage: light, almost medium if u layer it Shine Control: 3-4h I remember loving this little gem last year (in the summer!) I think my skin has got more oilier b/c now I need touch-up every 3-4h instead of 5h. Still this evens out you skintone w/o looking like u have fdn on. My nose area is worse than the BP oil spill and this keeps it matte
Yet another winner from NYX Price: $7.83 CAD Colour: mid-tone plummy taupe w/lots of golden and pink shimmer Pigmentation: full Texture: creamy smooth It's hands down my fave naturel crease colour. I love pairing this w/a smokey eye for some colour. Works with browns, plums, and greys.
So I'm kinda hooked on MAC pigments circa 'Blue Brown'. Colour: jade green with golden pear Texture: creamy Not that impressive since it's not much of a duochrome as I thought it'd be (I blame the misleading name). It's a nice green, I'll give it that much.
After my success w/'Blue Brown' I wanted tot try other pigments. I got a sample of this and paired it with BB Colour:literally the colour of blue violet Finish: soft shimmer Texture: creamy It's a vibrant lavender so will flatter any eye colour and skin tone. If u like taking a chance w/makeup or like experimenting, pair this with any gold/light brown eyeshadow. It's an intense sudden pop of colour that works so well! Cute colour that I can use everyday.
I usually stick w/liquid liners for their intensity. Got this in Coal Commander and so far, it's great Price: around $7 Pkg: hate how I had to try 5mIn to twist it up Colour: dark grey w/shimmer Very pigmented and glides on smoothly. It stays on for 8+h on my super oily lids! Tho I can't say the same for my waterline. I love the soft shimmer and the smoky finish!
Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer

I got the mini tube one at Sephora which I think is Neutral 0. I have an acne-prone/oily(esp. T zone)/sensitive skin so I'm always careful when trying new stuff. And my nose is oilier than BP oil spill. This kept my powder fdn matte for 4h at work(coffee shop) and gives it a slight "lit from within natural glow". Nothing oily-skinned people should be wary about. Might try the full size in Caramel or Pink
Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Waterproof
SimpleNSexy 8/24/2011 9:33:00 PM
This is like killer heels for ur eyelashes (being petite I do luv me some high heels) Price: ~$9 Pkg: the S-shaped brush doesn't bother me Length: a lot, better than Colossal Volume: sadly lacking, natural at best This isn't a volumizing mascara per se but if ur looking for a lengthening mascara, this is for u
