Lips -Black Opal - Lip Corrector

I bought it out of curiosity. I don't have unevan colored lips but I was attracted to the color which is exactly my skin tone (Light/Medium). I'd tried all the Black Opal foundations and found that even the light ones were heavy. I experimented by using it all over my face like a foundation and lo and behold, it's unbelievable. It dries matte, is my exact tone and feels so light if you didn't put it on yourself you wouldn't believe you were wearing anything. It has amazing coverage even through sweating at the gym (it doesn't clog the pores or start looking greasy AND it doesn't dry out the skin either). All of my other foundations have now been flung to the back of the closet in favor of this. I've been using the same tube for 2 months now and it hasn't run out. I wish that these companies would stop using those stupid wands though. It's not very hygeinic in the long run and it feels to me that they use the wands (brushes) just to take up more space so they can give you less product. UPDATE 1 MONTH I tried my other foundations a few times and both of them broke me out and either greasd up my skin or dried it up within hours of having them on. This is definitely the best product I've tried so far. UPDATE 5 MONTHS As you've seen from my reviews I've now tried every chocolate brown foundation out there nearly and none compare to this one. Yes it's a concealer but I read somewhere that concealers are basically mroe pigmented foundations. I love how light/medium matches my chocolate brown shade, love how it goes on so lightly and dries matte and smooth (as someone here said). Love how it stays n like Revlon Colorstay and MAC without having the heavy feeling involved with it. I'm happily just giving up looking for a product in a larger bottle now and will stay with this product. I like it for these reasons and also because it has never broken me out once. I don't get spots from it, it doesn't clog my pores or gather anywhere and the tube lasts me forever. It's also very easy to carry everywhere if I needed to . I still hate the wand but i'll live with it to get to have smooth flawless looking skin. NEARLY 1 YEAR REVIEW This is my staple. I don;t use any other foundation any more or powder. Nohing compares to it for sensitve skin and I really wish they would make it in a big bottle but hte applicator is great for carying around in your purse for overnight stays. I have had so many compliments on my skin wearing this. I think it's the yellowish tinge that uplifts my natural brown shade. WHatever it si I love and and may venture to trying their other non foundation products also.

Lip Gloss -Make Up For Ever - Super Lip Gloss No.21

I couldn't do without this 5 years ago. I ran out once and spent days looking for a store that sold it. Well 5 years later after getting tired of constantly hunting this lip gloss down I turned to cheaper versions, mostly the drug store brand which would basically wear off in 15 minutes and I'd have to spend the day reaplying it constantly, and my lips felt dryer wearing it too. So I searched for MUFE and luckily it's sold in Sephora now AND theres a few more colors to choose from. The only difference is that now the tube is half the size for MORE than it used to cost. Grr. On top fof theat they've made it so thick that yu can no longer apply it easily and it marblizes on your lips. It just doesn't spread even like the old version. IThe pigment is great though. Other than that I have a new drug store lip gloss that works just like this one used to for just $2.

I love the smell of it. It contains cocoa butter but not in a way that it would make your skin feel sticky after you've washed with it. The smell reminds me of hotel bathrooms. It didn't leave me skin dried out either. Unfortunately after a few showers with it you'll need to ash with something else like Ivory or Dial(white) to wash off all of the greasy residue it leaves behind. Great hand soap though.

After a long bout trying to combat dry skin on my face and realising it was soaps that were causing it I started using this and my dry skin dissapeared. I wipe my face and wash off the residue with plain water and my skin stays soft, smooth I never get breakouts or reactions. It also removes all of my make up when I wear it. I won't go back to using soap on ly face again and will test this on my friend to see if it will combat his acne so he can stop using harsh acne products to clean his skin. I got 2 packs of 80 thick sheets for $5 a well known drug store. I always have 8 sheets in a ziplock bag in my purse for eating out (cleaning hands), public bathrooms (lack of toilet paper/soap) and cleaning just about anything else. I even use them for refreshing during the menstrual cycle as they're much cheaper than the products for that out there too. I considered buyng an aloe (vera) version but aloe tends to dry my skin out so preferred one with nothing added in it at all. This product contains no ethanol or rubbing alcohol.

I'm a bit on the side with this product. I use it basically to grease my hands to use up the tube. For that it works temporarily BUT used full on my face and body it's terrible. It's basically clogs the pores, is ridiculously thick and is really glorified perfumed petroleum/mineral oil but the small tub I have suffices for hand use when on the road..

Crème -Black Opal - Perfecting Powder Makeup
rated 4 of 5
tempescape 10/23/2008 10:35:00 PM

I used to wear this for years. It was the best foundation ever until it started giving me dry patches around my nose so I went in search of another matte foundation that wouldn't do that and found it in Iman foundation stick. Unfortunately I reached the bottom of the stick and started feeling grains. When I put it on my skin under my eyes started to develop wrinkles so stopped using it immediately, ran for the Palmers Coca Butter and after a week of using that and no foundation at all the wrinkles disappeared so returned to my Black Opal Truly Topaz again. I also bought Black Radiance Matte soufflé in 3401 Pecan and the colors and amazing similar. I actually like them both equally now and can't choose between them at all. Great coverage. Update: I mix all 3 (foundations and cocoa butter) together and apply and they still work great and make me look flawless.

Liquid -Black Radiance - Matte Souffle Oil Absorbing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
tempescape 10/23/2008 10:21:00 PM

Bought this after Iman foundation stick started to dry out my skin. I previously tried the Black Radiance eyeliner and found I was allergic to it so avoided their products like the plague. I bought it because it was more or less the exact color of my Iman stick but in liquid form. I was really surprised that it gave just as good coverage as the stick. The difference is it doesn't leave my face dry. It gives strong coverage and doesn't melt off. I will definitely be buying this again. Even if I don't wear foundation sometimes I can still use it as a great concealer for when I'm tired. 3 week Update: I'm really surprised that this is still working and still not drying out my face. I even mixed it with the remains of my Iman stick foundation ad it's still working great.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Cococare 100% cocoa butter
rated 2 of 5
tempescape 10/21/2008 12:13:00 AM

I use Palmers cocoa butter (tub) in the day and Cococare coca butter stick at night. It's an easier to find option for people who don't know that you can buy at $7 huge 5lb tub of pure chunks of cocoa butter at your local Muslim ethnic store. It soothes my skin from winter irritation and works at moisturizing better than Shea butter. Don't try it on your hair though. It’s terrible for hair. Shea butter is better. Update 1: A week after using this it stopped working. My skin would feel dry and I got a big zit so I’m sticking with the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter at night and Cetaphil lotion in the daytime. For some reason Palmers Cocoa Butter prevents zits. The smells is terrible but I can live with that for smooth skin. 1 YEAR UPDATE Bought this again for an emergency hadn cream and wow, it wasn't very good at all and the chocolatey smell i sway too overpowering. I;m glad it was so cheap (walks to the trash can)

Skincare - Body -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula jar

People who can't get it out of the tub must live in the coldest house in the world because it's quite easy to scoop some out with your finger. I have had really dry skin forever and I've now tried every drug store and natural cream/lotion out there that says it's for dry skin and nothing worked. Bad news is, I loathe the cocoa smell of this and am completely horrified that the only thing that works to combat this dryness is a product that includes mineral oil and wax in it which is a definte no-no for skin. Good news is everyone but me seems to love the smell and my skin is beautifully soft. I can sit in the car with the air conditioning on and not feel after 10 minutes that my face has turned into a stiff mask so I guess it's acting like a barrier to that. My make up glides over it and no matter how much I run around I never look greasy. I've also found now I can go without make up and my still glows and looks great. If it was up to me I would avoid this product like the plague because of the ingredients (besides cocoa butter).but my skin loves it so I guess it's a staple. 1 month update: You get used to the smell after a while. It's still working great. Now i mix a little with my foundation and apply and it never runs of looks faded. 2 month update: I went out and bought new moisturizers thinking something else might work. They didn't. Have given up and am sticking with this and Cetaphil forever 6 month update: The ingredients on the tub made me nervous-you know, petroleum products etc and bad for skin> Last summer it worked fine BUT this summer it's working terrible so again I went in search of something that would stop my dry skin. Unfortunatley this now gives me spots and after usign Cetaphil for these summer months this feels like pure heavy vasaline. It doesn't do anything for me and even worse seems ot dry my skin out even more because it just forms a lyaer on my skin, it doesn't moisturize at all. I started using it again in the hope that it would clear up the new mosquito bites I have but it just adds spots to them.

Gels/Soaps -Kiss My Face - Olive Oil Soap
rated 1 of 5
tempescape 10/20/2008 11:50:00 PM

As the winters coming in my skin basicaly feels like a piece of dry board. My Trader Joes plain soap started to irritate my skin so I went in search of a moisturizing one that was milder. This soap is perfect. My skins died down and the irritation has stopped. Update: Wellit worked for a while then a few week later the breakous started to happen so I had to stop using it. The olive oil was clogging mypores. It's a great sized bar though but useless for hand washing so it basically got thrown into the back of the closet.

Palmers shea butter lotion stinks. How plainly can I put it. I can smell people who have it on before they have even come through the door. The longer you wear it the strnger it gets too. I really wihs htey would change that chemical smell. It smells nothing like shea butter.
