Eye Shadow -MAC - Bronze Eyeshadow
FiestyFemme 7/23/2004 12:35:00 AM
Bronze is one of the most used e/s in my MAC collection :) I usually only use it as a crease color, but I've found it to work well as a lid color, too. I don't particularly care for it as a liner, but only because it's not dark enough for me. Bronze is exactly as the name suggests, a golden bronze w/shimmer. It's truly gorgeous, and definitely an e/s that I can see myself repurchasing.
EDIT (6/06/06): I'm still loving Bronze, and it's still one of the most used eyeshadows in my stash. I think most people with neutral to warm tones would like this shadow!2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Stick
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:57:00 PM
This is my HG of lip balms. I had begun to get discontent w/my Bonne Bell Lipsmackers, so I decided to pick this up after hearing some raves for it. It's pretty elusive, so I was thrilled to find it at CVS. You get such a large tube, .14g or .5oz. It reminds me of the large lip balms Naturistics makes. It smells like chocolate, yummy! It's not fake or sickly sweet though. I'm super sensitive to most smells, and this doesn't bother my nose. It's very smooth going on, and softens my lips extremely well because it contains cocoa butter and vitamin E. I've been using the same tube daily for months now, and it's only half way gone. I have really dry lips, so I reapply several times a day. It's also dirt cheap! I paid $3 at CVS for this. It's definitely a steal for such a great product!

Bronzers -Caboodles - Sunkissed bronzing face powder
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:49:00 PM
I've just about finished my second compact of this bronzer in the shade Tahiti--- my HG of bronzers, and I own 10 or so. Tahiti gives my C3 skin a beautiful glow. Not so much a tan look, but it warms up my skin and just makes me look radiant. It looks great on my skin during all seasons, especially when I'm a little lighter in the winter. My only beef w/this product is that when you're close to finishing it, it's hard to get all of it because the pan is so far down in the compact. I use my Sephora bronzer brush w/this, and so maybe that's why. I'll probably crush it up when I can no longer get anymore out. I love this so much that I want to use it all! :)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:44:00 PM
This is THE best thickening mascara ever! It gives me the most dramatic lashes I've found w/o falsies--- 3 coats is like WOW! :) I love STL because it doesn't clump, flake, or smudge, and because it thickens so well. The price also doesn't hurt, especially since it's about $3 per tube. I've found a super mascara for an ever better price, which makes me a happy girl considering I religiously toss my mascara after 3 months.

Brows -Maybelline - Brow Styling Gel [DISCONTINUED]
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:41:00 PM
Maybelline Brow Gel is a great product for the price! The reason I tried it was because other clear mascaras meant for brows always made my brows look stiff and would usually flake, which is definitely not an attractive sight. I always purchase the shade Taupe, which is a good match for my medium ash brown brows. One tube usually lasts me 3-4 months w/daily use, so it's a good deal for me since one tube is around $5. It holds my brows in place, and provides just enough color so that it hides the outer edges of my brows that have been bleached by benzoyl peroxide. I can't say that it's a HG, but it might as well be, because I doubt I'll ever use anything else.

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Plink
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:36:00 PM
I have never been a lipstick fan, just always the gloss girl. At least until I gave into the raves for MAC Lustre l/s! I love the texture and feel of these lipsticks--- lightweight, creamy, and moisturizing. They aren't the most long-lasting lipsticks I've found, but I don't mind reapplying, so that's no big deal. Plink is my perfect pale pink. It appears in the tube to be a light pink w/silver pearl, and on my lips, it's a slightly frosty pale pink. It looks great w/smokey eyes or on it's on, so it's definitely a HG for me. If I only ever had to own one pink l/s, this would be it.
EDIT (6/06/06): I'm still loving Plink! I don't reach for lipstick often these days, but if I do, Plink is usually one of the ones I reach for. I've since gotten Politely Pink which I may like a smidge better - in comparison, Plink seems to be a lot warmer while Politely Pink is more of what I'd consider a true pale pink. I still love Plink though! Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Fresh Brew
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:32:00 PM
I have never been a lipstick fan, just always the gloss girl. At least until I gave into the raves for MAC Lustre l/s! Fresh Brew was my first, and I still love it. I love it so much that I already have an extra waiting for me! I love the texture and feel of these lipsticks--- lightweight, creamy, and moisturizing. They aren't the most long-lasting lipsticks I've found, but I don't mind reapplying, so that's no big deal. Fresh Brew is a great nude. It's definitely a brownish nude w/slight grey tones. MAC describes it as the shade of creamed coffee, and that is right on. Kudos to MAC for this wonderful lipstick!
EDIT (6/06/06): I'm bumping this down to a 4 because I just don't find myself wearing it that often these days. It's still a great color, but I rarely wear lipstick anymore. When I do, I usually reach for something else. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Lip Liners -Prestige - Waterproof Lip Liner in Oak
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:27:00 PM
My HG lip liner, thanks to a lovely girl at iCompact. I'd have never given this wonderful product a try had it not been for her! I love the packaging of the waterproof lip liners--- automatic pencils w/silver caps. I especially love the fact that they don't start to look beat up after being in my makeup bag! Prestige WP l/l are very creamy, but long lasting, which I appreciate for my dry lips. Oak is a rather neutral brownish nude, and it's one shade darker than my naturally rosy medium pigmented lips. It looks great w/just about any nude gloss I own, and I own a lot considering nudes and pinks are all I wear. Now if only I could find a good pink l/l from Prestige...

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:21:00 PM
I love Smolder for many reasons, but mainly because it's the blacket black e/l I've found! :) It's a great e/l--- long lasting, dark, and just glides on. It's also so pigmented that it takes me ages to use one up. My only beef w/Smolder is that it doesn't last very long on my inner rims, but I guess I shouldn't expect it to because it's an eye kohl. I will always have one of these around--- it's as close to a HG e/l as I've found.
EDIT (6/06/06): I still love Smolder, but if I need something super long lasting, Fluidlines are my pick now. However, Smolder is still the blackest black pencil liner I've found, and for that, I will always have one around. Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:18:00 PM
I seem to have quite a few HG items from MAC, and Prr is no exception. Prrr is a unique color, IMHO. It appears to be a soft, somewhat frosty pink w/some definite peach undertones in the tube. On my lips, it is more pink or peach depending on what I wear, with a soft frost that never washes me out. I got this in a set at Christmas 2002, and I'm going to need to purchase the full size soon. I will never be w/o Prrr!
EDIT (6/06/06): Still a HG for me!Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Lip Gloss -MAC - c-thru lipglass
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:15:00 PM
C-Thru was one of my first MAC lipglasses, and I got it in a holiday set at Christmas 2002. I initially thought I would not be able to make C-Thru work for me. After all, it looks extremely pale in the tube, and I just knew it would wash me out. Paired w/my HG Prestige Oak l/l, C-Thru gives me the most amazing nude lip that I am yet to replicate w/another lip product. I've almost used up the mini tube, and I've already got a full-size in waiting. That says a lot for this makeup junkie.
EDIT (6/06/06): C-Thru is definitely my HG nude lipgloss! I wear it paired with a nude lip liner (Prestige Oak or MAC Stripdown) or alone, and either way, it's GORGEOUS! I think what I like most about C-Thru is that it's pale enough to mute some of the pink pigment in my lips, but not so pale that I have to wear heavy eye makeup to make it work. Was this review helpful to you? Eye Shadow -MAC - Mulch eyeshadow
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:10:00 PM
Another HG MAC e/s for me! In the pan, Mulch appears to be a golden brown w/golden shimmer. On, it appears to be a much cooler chocolate brown. It looks awesome paired w/Jest, which is a look I use often. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out.
EDIT (6/06/06): This is still a HG eyeshadow for me!Was this review helpful to you? Yes No
Eye Shadow -MAC - Jest Eyeshadow
FiestyFemme 7/21/2004 11:06:00 PM
MAC Jest e/s is one of the few HG e/s I have out of the 150 or so I own. It's the one e/s I always reach for if I need to guarantee I'll look good. Jest is a frost e/s, and is appropriately a frosty soft peach e/s. I usually wear it w/Mulch on the lid, Coco Beach Pigment in the outer crease, plus black e/l rimmed around the eye and black mascara, and this is my fool-proof look. It's very professional looking as well, and I'd suggest to anyone who needs makeup for a polished look.
EDIT (6/06/06): Jest is still a HG eyeshadow for me almost 4 years after I first purchased it! I still wear it paired with Mulch, but I also now like it on it's own with just some black liner and mascara. There is currently about half the pan showing, and I do believe Jest will be the first eyeshadow I ever use up! That says a lot for me!1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Lip Gloss -Almay - Whipped Gloss in Polished Nude
FiestyFemme 7/19/2004 5:13:00 PM
Almay Whipped Glosses are my fave drugstore l/g! :) I love the brush applicator, minty smell, and smooth but long-lasting texture. On my medium true pink pigmented lips, Polished Nude shows up a MLBB pinky nude. It's my fave gloss for throwing on w/a simple "quickie" face, but also looks fab w/smokey eyes. I would definitely repurchase this if I ever ran out.

Foundations -Aromaleigh - Pure Powder [DISCONTINUED]
FiestyFemme 7/18/2004 10:38:00 PM
I just love Aromaleigh Pure Powder! :) I've been using it for about a year now, and it's yet to let me down. I have combo, sensitive, acne-prone skin, and this works wonders for me. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, keeps my oily areas in check w/o drying out my drier areas, and best of all, makes my acne prone skin look better than it did before! Seriously, with continued use, my skin looks better and better. You just can't beat that! Aromaleigh also has great prices and customer service. I am impressed w/them so much that I am considering switching almost solely to Aromaleigh. That's saying a lot for this makeup junkie :)
