Moisturizers -Mary Kay - TimeWise Age fighting Moisturizer C/O
rated 5 of 5

Just started using this again and liking it so far. Makeup seems to stay on a bit longer and less oily breakthrough during the day. I think that I prefer this to DDMG because it is supposed to have anti-aging and antioxidants. UPDATE: I upped the lippies for packaging since it now comes in a 3oz tube which is easier to use and air travel friendly. I think this is my HG moisturizer.

Blush -Clinique - Rich Texture blush in Rich Nude [DISCONTINUED]

This is a nice natural looking color, however you need to really pile it on! For almost $20 I expected better. Also it is a very dry matte texture, not really a nice glowy look. Probably won't repurchase because with the amount you have to use it won't last long - I am very fair so I usually find the opposite with blush. Having been disappointed in Clinique in the past I think you are buying drug store quality at dept store prices with this line.

Shampoo -Nexxus - INERGY Phyto Organics Shampoo

Thought I'd try Nexxus new line, although I wasn't too impressed with their old line. Once again they have reformulated products into smaller bottles for higher prices. This shampoo does not smell good, left my hair really flat and static and also made my scalp itch (this has happened before with this line). I think this would also cause build up in time because it seems very heavy.

Conditioner -Nexxus - Phyto Organics Luxxtress

Smells awful, reminds me of the old brilliantine that my dad used to use! Did nothing for my fine wispy hair, left it flat and full of static. Might be good for dry hair.

Shampoo -Back to Basics - Green Tea
rated 1 of 5

Update on this product - it is now sitting in the garbage can waiting for garbage day. I was trying to use it up, but my hair started to break really bad - I was sweeping up more of my hair than my dog's! Worst shampoo I have ever used and that includes drugstore brands. Won't even use it on the dog.

Lipstick -Flirt - PLUSHIOUS liquid lip in fire and spice
rated 3 of 5

Gorgeous color, goes great with Flirt's hearthrob blush. However, the product oozes out around the lid and makes a mess, especially in the heat.

Treatments -American Beauty - Beauty Boost

HG I am absolutely loving this. After one week of use my skin looks a lot brighter,my lines are softer and there is a much plumper and firmer feel to my thin, crepey areas. There is a separate eye cream, but I use this around my eyes with no problems. I'm using this with Clinique's 3 step for very dry skin and apply over DDML. For the price, I am very happy and will repurchase. I also plan on getting the SPF15 firming cream for daytime use. I think if you are younger, you would be able to use this alone, it is not overly greasy like some night creams. I need the extra moisture because of my age and having very dry skin. UPDATE: Starting to see some brightness after longer use, less of that dull, tired look. Great value since similar products cost $100+.

Blush -Flirt - Peek-a-Blush Sheer Powder Cheek Color in Heartthrob
rated 3 of 5

This is a good value when I compared the amount you get with an Estee Lauder blush I had, you are getting the exact same amount for $12 with Flirt as you get in an EL blush for $25! Blends beautifully, I got fire & spice plusious lip color to go with it and it looks great. I also tried the kissed bronze blush in this line. What I did not like about it is that it is way too shiny and shimmery.

Shampoo -Sexy Hair Concepts - Big Sexy Hair volumizing shampoo
rated 4 of 5

Looking for some new haircare products, I found a travel pack of the shampoo, conditioner, gel and hairspray at Target for $10. Decided what the heck, I can always use travel bottles anyway for my gym bag. What a surprise, I really like this stuff. I have not used the hair spray because I find they really dry out my hair. The shampoo lathers up nice and seems to cleanse thoroughly but gently, the only thing I wasn't keen on is the smell but then I don't buy hair products for their smell and I dislike perfume in hair products (Biolage is too strong smelling IMO) . The conditioner rinses clean and leaves my hair easy to comb without breakage, this is a big bonus for me. The gel is just enough for a little body and hold without flyaways and does not leave my hair weighed down or crunchy and stiff. I have used the gel on both damp and dry hair with equally good results. I will probably buy the full sizes when I run out. My hair is very fine and oily, this might not be enough conditioning for drier or treated hair.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - TimeWise 3-in-1 Cleansing Bar
rated 3 of 5
pupster 3/28/2006 11:50:00 AM

Mary Kay's TimeWise line really rocks. I'm not a MK sales rep, just someone who wants quality skin care at an affordable price. I like the ease of only having to use one product, if I'm feeling lazy or tired after a late night, I'm less likely to skip. This removes makeup easily, you can actually see the makeup coming off with this, and lathers up nicely. At night I gently massage this over my face using a cellulose sponge (Eco Tools) and my skin feels very soft and not overly dry. Wish you could buy a refil bar instead of having to buy a new dish each time. I switched to this line from Clinique's 3 step, compared to Clinique's bar MKTW bar removes mu, you don't need a separate mu remover beforehand MKTW bar has a richer and creamier lather MKTW bar exfoliates, so you don't need to follow up with separate toner product. This is recommended for oily and combo skin types, for dry skin it is too harsh and drying.
