Moisturizers -St. Ives - Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel ] [DISCONTINUED]
madmargeS 8/5/2004 7:20:00 PM
I just bought this today. I used it once so far. The smell is subtle, and doesn't last long. It absorbs very quickly if, and this is the key, you don't use too much. I did not experience any itching/burning, and it does cool a little. Nice undereye moisturizer for $3. It is kind of watery, so be careful, as it is easy to get too much out of the package. I'll update this in a few days to tell if anything's changed. UPDATE: Still no irritation. I think I must have very faint dark circles, because this really brightens up my face after use on my under-eye area. I love it! Another update: I've been using this for a while and it makes a very nice light moisturizer for my entire face. It left my skin smooth and soft! I would buy this again.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Vita Gloss O2
madmargeS 7/28/2004 11:18:00 PM
I got the liquid version of the Cherry-Raspberry one (I think it's the purple one). It smells wonderful, and actually moisturizes! It's almost like a liquid lip balm (it does give a light shine. It's not a mirror-shine lipgloss) I wish I had tried it sooner!

Lipstick -Bonne Bell - Smooth Shades
madmargeS 7/1/2004 11:41:00 PM
I bought this in Sheer Vanilla. It's a nude pink that's got the tiniest hint of frost. It lasted for a good four hours (and then I took it off). My lips feel smooth and the lipstick lasted through drinking a can of soda, and having a snack. Perfect for work (which is why I tried this) and at $3 very affordable! I WILL buy more of these!

Treatments -Clearasil - Pore Cleansing Pads
madmargeS 6/21/2004 12:27:00 AM
I decided to buy these to try on the pimples I occasionally get (instead of buying an acne-fighting cleanser) and tried them out recently. It hasn't been long enough to tell if they prevent new pimples, but I'll update. Anyway, it stings when I use them (worse on existing acne) but that goes away quickly. It actually doesn't smell too horrible. I've gotten results from Clearasil in the past, so hopefully these are good too. UPDATE: These are making my acne go away, but not very quickly. I have seen improvement while using these, but they aren't the best thing out there. Also, if I get it too close to my eyes, they sting A LOT! I think there's better stuff than these available.

Bronzers -Victoria's Secret - Bronze Goddess Mosaic Bronzer
madmargeS 6/17/2004 12:26:00 AM
I bought this today, and since it's the Semi-Annual Sale, got it for $8.75. It's really great! Most bronzer powders are way too dark, but this is perfect! It gives me a glowy bronze look (even though I have fairly light skin) and doesn't look dirty or too dark at all. I love it!

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks - Hot Tropic
madmargeS 6/15/2004 2:46:00 PM
I bought this about 10 minutes ago, and just tried it on. I love it! Hot Tropic looks like this really bright fuchsia but when applied is not nearly so bright. It's sheer when applied and gets deeper when layered. It's not sticky at all and has a faint pleasant vanilla scent. This is the perfect summer color (which is exactly what I bought it for)

Lip Gloss -Prestige - Vinylwear
madmargeS 6/8/2004 11:22:00 PM
I bought a trial size package of three Vinylwears. The shades are Crystal(clear shimmery gloss) Liquid (clear gloss) and Tempest (slightly shimmery mauve-pink color). I noticed a fragrance the first few minutes I wore any of the three, but it goes away soon enough. I think I might buy a full sized one (in a different color) when I use these up. They aren't the least bit sticky and have decent staying power. Pretty good!

Concealers -Maybelline - True Illusion Concealer
madmargeS 5/24/2004 10:51:00 PM
I really like wand concealers. The price was definitely right, as I got it for free from CVS (don't you love the CVS card??) It has a thin consistency, stays on for quite a long time, and covers small blemishes easily (for larger blemishes, more than one layer might be better). Overall, a good product. The shades are all fairly light, so it's great for those of us with lighter skin!

Liquid -Maybelline - Wonder Finish
madmargeS 5/24/2004 10:45:00 PM
I just tried this for the first time this afternoon, and I have to say it's decent. It's really liquidy, but I just pour it onto a sponge so it doesn't get all over my hands. The color (Creamy Natural) is a perfect match, and it does seem to have a powdery finish. I'll update in a few days after I've worn it all day and out in the heat.UPDATE: It's still pretty good! I've found that I sometimes need oil-blotting tissues and a little powder, but the foundation is decent. Update again: I don't really like it as much as I used to. I really need powder with it now. The bottle leaks out the top, and the foundation is just too runny for my preference. I'll use it until it's gone but might not buy it again.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Mascara (Thickening)
madmargeS 5/24/2004 12:21:00 PM
This was my first mascara. I got it in Brown/Black I think. It really thickened well, and I could see the difference as opposed to wearing no mascara. Good product! I think I'll try more Almay stuff!

Bronzers -Bonne Bell - Sunblush Bronze in Golden Fresh
madmargeS 5/22/2004 12:05:00 PM
I won't buy this again unless they make serious changes to the package! The color is perfect, but the package is impossible! It's a squeeze tube with an applicator tip kinda like Sally Hansen's Lip Quencher. Anyway, the Bonne Bell SunBlush stuff comes in this rock hard plastic container that takes a lot of effort to squeeze. My hands hurt for two to three days after I got this stuff! (I already complained to BonneBell-I'm not the only one!) Good product, bad packaging.

Concealers -Rimmel - Hide the Blemish
madmargeS 5/21/2004 7:00:00 PM
I needed a new concealer stick, and since I was at Wal-Mart, decided to give this a try. If I use a brush to blend this, it is PERFECT! (I have it in Ivory) It's really good, and one of the cheapest ones at Wal-Mart. I love Rimmel! (It doesn't last all day, but most stick concealers I've tried don't either)

Misc Beauty Tools -Cover Girl - Pencil Sharpener
madmargeS 5/18/2004 3:41:00 PM
It's just an average pencil sharpener. It has two holes and a black insert so you can sharpen three different pencil sizes in one sharpener (which is nice). The top comes off fairly easily, and it has a cleaning pick that's so-so. It's decent, and inexpensive.

Bronzers -Bonne Bell - Gel Bronze
madmargeS 5/12/2004 10:51:00 PM
I remembered that my mom had some of this around and decided to test it , even though it was the extra dark, and I'm kinda pale. It's almost perfect! It goes on really sheer, and you can build on it. It does stain your hands, but that's easily removed with some soap and about 30 seconds of gentle scrubbing. I'm gonna look at the Sunblush Bronzer next.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Wet Shine lipstick
madmargeS 5/10/2004 3:54:00 PM
I got this in Cherry Rain, and I love the feel but the color is so much different than I expected! It looks like a nice medium red, but on me it shows up a BRIGHT PINK! not what I wanted, but I'll try another color. UPDATE: I tried it again and really like it now. I applied, blotted, then applied again and it's a nice red! I like it!
