Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Mirror Mirror Shiny Lip Gloss- Pink Slip
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 11:23:00 PM
I'm not crazy for the texture, feels too bulky and heavy on my lips, and not natural at all. I love this color though, a sort of muted babydoll pale shiny pink (Whew, that was a lot of adjectives!!). I love it but I agree with reviewer below, I've been trying to finish it for a year now and not getting anywhere. Also, over time, the gloss has slowly become stiffer and stiffer and is now very difficult to blend and put on. But I HAVE left it in the sun before so that may be the cause. It's hard to reapply this on the go, because you either get your fingers really really sticky or you have to go to the trouble to get out your portable lip brush, blah blah. Love the cute slim packaging though. Average price.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Tint No 1139
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 11:20:00 PM
LOVE this gloss, this color is ok. It's sitting in front of me right now, laying next to my No.1137, and it looks sadly neglected and unused. 1137 is all dirty from being in my make up bag (weird packaging picks up dirt like no other) and is dented in the middle from usage. 1139 looks brand new. I've used it a few times but I just don't reach for this one, I'm not crazy for red lips..more of a muted nude kinda gal. Still, love the Mentha Lip Tints!

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Tint No 1137

I don't have much more to say than what everyone is already saying! The only complaint I have is the packaging, which is some sort of rubber and picks up dirt in my makeup bag like a vacuum cleaner! (Reminds me of the NARS blushes packaging.) Then it looks so dirty and gross. I have to use a cotton ball and makeup remover once a week to keep it looking fresh and clean. It does make your bresh fresher, has a lovely tingle, this color is amazing on EVERYONE! Once I was wearing it and telling a story to two friends, and when I was finished they both asked at the same time, not about my story(which was very interesting), but: "What lipgloss are you wearing??" Then they both used it. :) So cheap too...would repurchase!!

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci - Angel food cake
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 11:10:00 PM
Wow! I didn't know till I was reading reviews that this was discontinued. That makes me treasure mine even more..It will last forever I think. The smell and taste are soo good, not artificial, actually delicious! I like the rounded tip, although others may disagree. It feels soft and gentle and smooth and satisfying on my lips. I do agree if you put too much of this on it kind of gets messy looking, but it's light pink color is meant for a sheer coat anyways I believe. I covet it more now that I know it was discontinued. I really do like it, I just don't reach for it very often because I haven't been into gloss for some months now. Would repurchase if it was available, as they are cheap and delicious. Love the tutti dolci's.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 11:03:00 PM
Great shiny gloss, but doesn't make my lips plumper. Tingly sensation kind of burns. My boyfriend won't kiss me if I have it on, which makes it a loser immediately. That, and the price...well, I wouldn't repurchase. (I did shell out a little extra for the breast cancer version though, which has a little pink in it, so this wasn't a TOTAL loss..)

Blush -Mary Kay - Desert Bloom Blush
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 10:57:00 PM
At first I loved this color and I wore it everyday, but something happened and now it just makes me look like a clown! Maybe the blush changed..or I got tanner? I don't know, but while I loved it, it was great. I didn't purchase the expensive compact so the blush just came in a long compact with a clear cover. I found it very convenient that you can slide the blush in and out with ease, and it's so slim and small you can take it anywhere easily. They also don't try to make you pay more for it by including a crappy brush you will never use. The color is a dark reddish pink, probably better on light to medium skin tones, not medium to dark like mine. It was relatively cheap, possibly $7-$10. I wouldn't purchase it again, and I wouldn't need to, because it lasts FOREVER!

Eye Shadow -Avon - True Color Powder Eyeshadow Duo-Smokey Mauve
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 10:53:00 PM
I agree with the reviewer below, but I disagree about the light beige. I have medium to dark skin, and the light beige works wonderfully as a brow highlighter. The smokey mauve is a lovely color, truly mauve. Perfect for the smokey eye look! Avon products are so cheap and they last for forever. I'd repurchase..it was probably only $5! I buy Avon when I want nice new makeup and I'm broke.

Mascara -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Lashes - Intensifying Mascara
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 4:49:00 PM
What a stupid mascara! Doesn't do anything unless you put on several coats; therefore, it sucks. Cheap for a reason, ladies! I believe bramakers shouldn't be dabbling about in makeup. i don't like any VS makeup products.

Hair Styling Tools -T3 - Tourmaline Original Duality Irons (yellow plates)
coutureisqueen 12/23/2006 4:23:00 PM
I have the T3 Tourmaline Medium Duality iron. The only difference between the Medium and the Narrow Duality is 3/8 of an inch. It heats up fast and straightens quickly, leaving my hair soft, shiny, and sleek. I definitely think it was worth the money; also I got it off an authorized eBay seller, brand new, for $87 rather than $170 at Planet Beauty. It works soo good and I love the packaging! It looks sleek, expensive, and stylish. I would definitely recommend this straightener to any that is looking for a new one. I have used Vidal Sassoon Ceramic Straightener and the HAI, and neither worked as well for me as the T3. Would buy again!

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi Silk Infusion
coutureisqueen 12/22/2006 9:41:00 AM
HG for shiny, soft hair! I rub it on my palms and then on my ends of my hair after straightening to keep them soft and healthy and unfrizzy! I can't believe nobody likes the smell, I think it smells absolutely heavenly! Like..vanilla but better! The price IS really steep, but it's true you can do a lot with a little. HG product, definitely, I try to get by on the bunches of sample bottles of these that I get from my hairstylist every time I get my hair cut, :) At least get a sample of this and try it!!

Hair Styling Tools -Vidal Sassoon - Ceramic Straightener
coutureisqueen 12/21/2006 12:20:00 AM
I guess for a straightener I bought at Target, this worked pretty good. Never had any of the problems with it not being ceramic (yellow paint coming off), maybe cuz I bought it later than everyone else?? Also, mine was $45. It heated up pretty quickly, got really hot, and lasted me for a long time (about a year or more) without ever having problems. However, it did fry my hair, and was so large and heavy. Also, my hair would CONSTANTLY snag in the plate cracks and pull out. This straightener made me lose alot of hair! To get hair stick straight you have to run it through a few times, all the while frying your hair. I just got my new T3 Tourmaline Medium Duality delivered and it really is superior. If you're not looking to spend a lot of money on a straightener just yet, this is pretty durable. Just make SURE you use heat protectant BEFORE you straighten. I like Mane N'Tail Barrier (only available in certain stores, search for it on Google and paynesbeautysupply.com), it's cheap and really keeps my hair healthy and silky. Also make sure you condition your hair well the whole time you are using this straightener, because it does get really hot, and it doesn't really protect your hair. For the money though, it was very worthwhile. My T3 was quadruple the price.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Anti-Bacterial Hand Lotion
coutureisqueen 12/19/2006 11:23:00 AM
I have nothing bad to say about these! If I don't have one with me during the day it makes me cranky and annoyed all day long. They smell so good, feel so good, and the fact that they're antibacterial makes it even better! I can't think of any way these products could be improved, except to add more scents. You get a lot of product for the price. I have bought these over and over again. The one with me right now is Black Raspberry Vanilla. I'm one of those people who hates public bathrooms because after you wash you still have to touch the paper towel dispenser handle, the blowdryer button, the door handle, etc. Putting on the hand lotion makes me feel so much better. HG product, no doubt!!!

Makeup Brushes -Flirt - Feather Dust-her (aka Skunk Brush)
coutureisqueen 12/19/2006 1:20:00 AM
I always had trouble with streaky, too bright, clown blush, even with the prettiest colors, until this skunk brush! It has saved my face for only $6. You can't go wrong with it. Applies my most pigmented blushes like a dream. HG blush brush ! :) *Wish it came with a protective case so it doesnt get messed up in my makeup bag! (YES, I have to bring it everywhere with me! Duh!)
