Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O

I like the concept of this product. I also like the clean smell and the green color. This gives me a very relaxing and very pleasurable cleansing time. And it leaves my skin very soft. I like the fact that it is also a cleanser and a make-up remover at the same time. However, I still soap this off as it gives me cystic acne if I don't. Normally, it would give me a bump here and there even with a follow-up washing, so I am not really impressed with this cleanser. Cleans well but leaves residue that gives me acne. No matter how soft and clean it leaves my skin, I find that the skin flaws (acne scarring) it give me defeat any benefit that I take from it. I regret buying this cleanser. EDIT: I find my true HG in Babor Hy-ol. The best cleanser in my opinion. Try it.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
rated 3 of 5
Tess35 12/16/2007 10:36:00 PM

This leaves my skin squeaky clean and bright. But it gives me small bumps even when I use it every other day. It does not help with my pores and feels tight on my skin. My skin agrees with microfoliant, however, when used twice weekly. But at this rate, a lot of cheaper exfoliant can do the same job. I will not repurchase.

This scent is terrible. Too strong. It gave me a headache each time.

Treatments (Eye) -Elizabeth Arden - Prevage Eye Anti-aging Moisturizing Treatment
rated 1 of 5

I bought this because of the hype in beauty magazine and medical journals. My skin did not have any reaction to it. It did not help my fine lines at all. And it has this feathering effect when I apply my spf and foundation afterwards. I never will repurchase.

Foundations -SKII - Air Touch Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
Tess35 12/14/2007 5:55:00 AM

I use this only on special occassion too as this is very expensive. My most favorite time to use this is when I am wearing backless. I spray this to my face, neck and back and people compliment on my beautiful skin. My only comment is that: 1. It does not look so angelic over my SPF; 2.It does not provide the coverage that I want- which is medium. Using this as a finishing touch after concealer/powder defeats its purpose in my opinion; 3. It seems to hide my pores at first but after a few hours, the foundation settles in them, hence making them more obvious. 4. The initial investment on the machine is so high. I still could not figure out how to get that cost back. EDIT: I bought a new refill colour OB4 at S$202 for 2 5ml sachet as my old OB2 was slightly lighter than my skintone. I really really want to love this product but I just can't. I find that it suits better as a finisher but it totally defeats its main purpose- being a foundation. For this price I am expecting something great and versatile. But this is not the case here as even sans SPF cream on my face and whichever way I put this on, this still could not be held in the same league as Sisley's. Well, maybe I am just a spoiled Sisley foundation brat. But I still really think that Sisley oil-free and transmat liquid fdn is the greatest invention ever for a woman's face. I really do not want to be a minority here but I can't help it. Performance-wise it is good but nothing amazing. This is too expensive for what it is really worth.

Treatments -SKII - Facial Treatment Essence

I finished a bottle of this and did not see any results at all. I think this Pitera stuff is a crap and this company is trying to follow suit with La Mer. This is a robbery in broad daylight.

Treatments -Skinceuticals - Hydrating B5 Gel
rated 4 of 5
Tess35 12/14/2007 5:23:00 AM

This is really nice. It makes my skin smooth and my pores finer. The smoothness of my skin is very refined specially around the cheekbone area. It is also very easy to apply- sinks right in. My only complain is its glass bottle plus the dropper. How I wish that this fluid comes in a plastic pump bottle. Overall, the product is excellent and belongs to a higher league. I will repurchase as I think this is the best in its price range. EDIT: I find that I can easily use my Sisleya e/c on top of this baby without issues in greasiness. However, I felt the need for a separate moisturizer as I feel B5 gel causes slight dryness to my combi skin. I only use this in the morning.

Lips -Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference - Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick - SPF 15
rated 1 of 5
Tess35 12/13/2007 11:10:00 AM

I bought this product for spf then as moisturizer. It stays on my lips for about 2 hours then I can't trace it anymore. It does not make my lips shiny, soft or moisturized at all. After brushing my teeth at night I find my lips drier. My sister got me another stick of this in plum color for my birthday. I am not going to rate the color anymore just the quality of the colored ones. I really hate hate it. The color slides off to the corner of my lips (and to the cracks) and the stick broke off after being left in the car. With this quality, I find this product horrible and terribly expensive.

Lip Treatments -La Prairie - cellular lip renewal concentrate
rated 5 of 5
Tess35 12/13/2007 10:35:00 AM

I bought this yesterday. Even with 26% discount, still I have never spent this much on anything concerning my lips. This is not shiny. More like a serum type. I had dinner after a few hours of applying this and I noticed that my lips were so soft and refined afterwards. And they have this delicate color. I applied another time before going to bed and I woke up with the softest and rosiest lips. They are also more defined and...just beautiful. I will love this for life. EDIT: It's been a week now and I have noticed that my lips are transformed. They are very soft and rosy. I ran my tongue on them and I can't feel any bump, chapping or anything..just soft lips. I'll try the lip plumper next time.

Foundations -Guerlain - Fleur de Teint Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Tess35 12/12/2007 11:42:00 PM

I have been using the ultra mat version in beige naturel (540). This is one of the best foundations that I've ever tried. Very natural looking, good coverage and does not pile up with whatever I put on top of it. When I travel to colder countries, I use this without any powder and it is simply sublime.

Powder -Christian Dior - DiorSkin Compact Makeup
rated 4 of 5
Tess35 12/12/2007 11:35:00 PM

I bought this powder together with Diorsnow Sublissime Ultra Protective Base SPF 50+++. Together they look very flattering on me, But after about 3 hours, the pores on my t-zone are accentuated. I tried the Diorsnow Ultra Protective Base SPF 50+++ alone with another powder and it was perfect for my skin as a protective base. But when I tried Diorsnow compact powder alone, it tends to be too glowy on me that it accentuates my pores. I live in a high humid country and I am oily after 2 hours of using this. However, the Diorsnow Ultra Protective Base SPF 50+++ is my HG. EDIT: I have tried this powder again and was proven wrong in my initial assessment. This is radiant on the skin, silky and blends with complexion making skin look bare and youthful. The color is also a perfect match for me. My only comment is that it does not control oil so you need another product for that.

Treatments -Sisley - Sisley Hair and Scalp Treatments
rated 4 of 5
Tess35 11/30/2007 1:06:00 AM

I suffer from hair fall every now and then. I also have itchy scalp. But I discovered Sisley Botanical Extract for Hair and Scalp and my problem was zapped out in a span of 2 weeks. Because this is pricey, I started my regime with 1-dropper every other day until I worked it out to 1-dropper once a week. I also did not have any problem with oily or dry hair. I have tried otc products. They helped with itchiness but that's it. I also tried Phyto, nioxin, etc. and they did not even come close to Sisley. I will continue to use this product although I am having difficulty finding my next bottle. I will wait patiently for the new re-packaged one. EDIT: 12 June 2008 This product was just re-launched here this month. 'Twas reformulated and repackaged. The liquid is a little lighter in color, a little more rosemary-ish in smell and a little moisturizing on the scalp. The dropper is also changed but the old squeeze-rubber top is easier to control than the new plastic top which you have to press instead of squeeze. It looks more elegant 'though. The price is also increased from S$135 to S$160. I have wasted my money on Nioxin when this baby went out of circulation. But I used this last night, and today when I washed my hair, there was about two...two strands of hair in the drain. And another two when I combed my hair. Well that is stellar. I am very happy that this hair treatment is back. EDIT 2: August 20, 2008 This new version is sloppy. It will help your hair problems so long as you use it...each time. The once or twice a week routine never work anymore. And even with regular use, this is not as effective as the old version in minimizing hairloss and my scalp is also oily. Reformulating this product is not a very smart move, Sisley. I am taking a lippy away.

Sunscreen -Christian Dior - DiorSnow Pure UV Perfect Brightening Protective Base SPF 50
rated 4 of 5
Tess35 11/29/2007 9:26:00 AM

I have not used or tried Dior cosmetics or skincare before as I believe this brand sells by name and not by quality. But I am inclined to change that view after I tried Diorsnow Sublissime Pure UV Perfect Brightening Protective Base SPF 50. This product is really light and sebum friendly and absorbs really well. It is matte but friendly to other products following its application. My skin is radiant and lovely with this and any powder looks divine on it. I now can skip foundation and just use pressed powder and still look divinoria. Most products with SPF higher than 20 do not accomodate any powder foundation with the same level of SPF. They normally make me look cakey and patchy. But this product is an exception. It adheres well with any foundation (with or without spf of more that 20+++). No white streaks and does not dry out eye area nor settle in fine lines. This product is very light and spreads well so a little goes a long long way. Here in Singapore, this is S$70 for 30ml tube. At this price and quality? This is a steal! As a base and as a UV protective shield - TRULY EXCELLENT. UPDATE: I still love this baby. Only that this may not be my staple anymore as I find my pores gunky and oily when I use this everyday. I am going back and settling for the new Clarins.
