I used this moisturizer all summer long. I am a sun worshipper of the highest rank but still try and make sure to use at least an SPF 15 on my face daily. This causes my face to be a couple shades paler than my deeply bronzed bod. This product helped keep my face looking nice and tan without any streaking, non, zip, zero, zilch. I was amazed! The results were even and natural look, every time. I would highly recommend. Update - 5/2011 - still using thi product. Still think the results are great. Very happy this has an SPF 20 included. I still get to look like I spent my day soaking up the rays. Yes it has "that odor" but all sunless tanners do.
Liquid -Almay - Nearly Naked Touch-Pad liquid makeup
Ruby2003 10/5/2006 11:07:00 AM
This product didn’t really work for me. I don’t like heavy feeling foundations so I thought I would give this a try. It was very difficult to get an even application with only my fingers. I would have to go over my face very quickly with a sponge, as the formula dries nearly immediately. The feeling was light enough, almost like wearing nothing at all but did not last all day and began to get “crackly” looking by the end of the day. Its too bad it’s a great idea and minimal coverage so it doesn’t appear you are wearing makeup but the application and “wear down” make this a no-go for me.
Great forumula, I used it in Cream. Provided medium coverage, looked natural and was long lasting. I wore this a few times to fancy functions and it was great, adjusted to my skin tone and lasted the evening. I generally do not wear foundation and don’t like the feeling of it on my skin. But this made my skin look flawless and lasted throughout the events without any touching up. This is a definite keeper for special occasions where I need to get made up.
Brows -Maybelline - Brow Styling Gel [DISCONTINUED]
Ruby2003 10/5/2006 10:56:00 AM
I have used this product in both brown and clear. It holds brows in place for a polished look. Does not flake and lasts the whole day. I find it especially helpful when I am overdo for a brow shaping, it helps hold the bushy bill brows in place.
Pencil on one end, powder on the other and comes with a hand brow brush attached to cap. Great 3 in 1 product. Pencil is easy to use and results look natural enough. I found the powder to be a little too shimmery for me but still fill brows in nicely. Use the brush to blend the powder and pencil for a groomed effect. I top this off with a swipe of brow gel in clear. Thankfully I have a ton left, as I heard this has been discontinued :( Too bad its a great product.
Awful awful awful. I though this gel like formula would even out the coloring of my legs and look like “liquid stockings”. The application was very streaky and I had a hard time washing it off my hands. Tossed it away after the first use. Very unlike me, I usually give a product a couple chances before declaring it horrible but this was the exception. I felt no need to give it a second chance. Don’t waste the money.
Skincare - Body -mark - The Body Squad Bacne Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
Ruby2003 10/5/2006 10:45:00 AM
The spray makes self application a cinch. It does burn a bit going on, but when it comes to bacne that’s probably an indication that the salicylic acid is working. It’s the same concentration as most other acne treatments just in spray form. When used regularly the breakouts on my back def clear up significantly quicker. I am not sure how well it works at preventing breakouts as I only use it as an after the fact treatment not for prevention. Also the mist is very fine so if are in a small enclosed area (think bathroom door shut) then you will probably inhale a little…Not totally pleasant but I didn’t have this problem when used in the bedroom. I would agree an improvement would be if you were able to spray while upside down. Its a great product if you can get past the little quirks.
Lip Gloss -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in #568 Bronze Berry
Ruby2003 10/3/2006 3:13:00 PM
Okay, I have been wearing this lipgloss since 1992. Its been about 4 years since I bought the last tube and have been out for a while. I looked around for this particular shade and could not find it anywhere. I finally find it, the price is still right at $1.99 so I purchase, looking forward to using it. Guess what? They must have reformulated it. It now has a funky watermelon (I think)scent..not bad just weird. The color, much more frosty going on than I remember. I was a little disappointed but figured the color wasn't awful so I left it on for a while, and poof before I knew it some of the frost had toned done and there was my old friend bronze berry! Its not the same that I remember, but the consistancy and coverage is still the same. The scent I could do without. In the past it just smelled of cheap gloss, which was fine with me. It gets 3 lippies because of the scent and extra frost, but will still be welcome in my makeup bag.
This was also my signature scent my senior year of high school. Recently I went searching on a fragrance website for Navy (a gift for Mom) and came across Longing again. It was under $5 so I figured I would buy one for myself. Having many fragrances on my shelf I was shocked to notice I was reaching for the Longing again and again. Its a powerful scent and should be used sparingly. Not overly sweet and just the right amount of floral. Love this scent. Although I can't seem to find it as easily I will definitly stock up in case this great scent should disappear.
Works well enough at first but the flaking is a turn off.
Tinted Moisturizer -mark - C-Thru Tinted Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
Ruby2003 9/27/2006 10:49:00 AM
I tied this after reading raves about it. It was sheer enough but I found that the colors just weren’t right for my skin. Tried 1 through 4 and gave it more than a fair chance. 1 Was too light, 2 was the closest but still a little too dark, and 3 and 4 were extremely dark. The couple of times I wore this it would dry out and start flaking by the end of the day. The application was easy and blended well but I guess just not moist enough for me.
Lip Gloss -mark - Glow Baby Glow Hook-Up Lip Gloss - Pink Crush
Ruby2003 9/27/2006 10:49:00 AM
Love the hookups. They are convenient for on the go. In the tube it looks to be a darker shade of pink. I was a little nervous about it at first. But its very sheer and has some sparkle to it, not heavy glitter but just enough to catch the eye. The mint flavor/scent is refreshing. The gloss is not at all sticky and have a great consistancy. Will def buy again.
Blush -mark - Good Glowing Powder Blush -After Glow
Ruby2003 9/27/2006 10:46:00 AM
One of the best blushes I have ever tried. Lasts all day. Its a peachy shade with a golden shimmer. I am on my second order. The packaging it arrives in is flimsy. I highly suggest getting the the plastic case that they offer. It will hold 2 blushes, 4 shadows or 2 shadows & blush. This blush is a knockout. I have it in 3 shades, After Glo, Cameo Glow and Ripe Glow.
Lip Liners -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers in "Heather Satin"
Ruby2003 9/27/2006 9:03:00 AM
This is one of my beauty staples. I would describe the color as mocha. The quality of the liner is very high end. I would suggest this brand to anyone.
Best lip balm on the planet!
