Eye Shadow -Pure Luxe Cosmetics - Aura Collection-Blue Aura
gigglemommy 6/28/2005 11:20:00 PM
OH MY GOD i'm not sure why these are listed under the 2 grrrrrrls heading, since they have nothing to do with them, but i AM SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO REVIEW THE PURELUXE LINE! WAHOOO! first of all, all of her shadows have awesome staying power, and are highly pigmented. i actually prefer these to the mac pigments, and they are so super cheap. the samples are a buck, and they last forever. k...blue aura...a very subtle blue shimmer when applied dry, that almost seems to glow on your lids. add water and "foil" the shadow, and POW! makes a great eyeliner...coolest glow effect i've ever achieved on my lids! same holds true for all the aura colors, the purple and gold being my personal faves. hg shadow!
Skincare - Face -Dr. Bronner's - Dr.Bronners Tea Tree Soap

i found this very gentle for my skin, and love it as a foot soak especially. my dh uses it to help with his dandruff, and it has really helped clear up my youngest son's cradle cap. it's good shtuff, but the peppermint and lavender smell bettah.
Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
gigglemommy 5/24/2005 9:47:00 PM
i LOVE this stuff! unfortunately i found out i'm allergic to peppermint oil, but i still use this well diluted and it's fine when i want a pick me up! i wash my dog with it, my bathroom counters with it, my makeup brushes with it (BOY does this work better than all the fancy washes i was buying for them), use it for tub time when the kid's sinuses are bothering them...this stuff has a million uses! great stuff!
Wonderful application and wear! i love the rubberized cap too. My only gripe is they need more shades :)
Top/Base Coats -Orly - Orly Won't Chip- Polish Shield
gigglemommy 5/24/2005 9:27:00 PM
really, really GREAT top coat! it's thick so it smooths out the nail surface a bit along with protecting your polish. it takes longer to dry than Seche, Poshe, or SH Insta-dri, but it's the most glass-like of all that i've tried. i am really really impressed with orly's line! \
YEEEEHAWWW this stuff actually WORKS! alot of basecoats are so thick if i'm in a hurry they bubble and/or peel off immediately. this was very thin, but my polished hasn't budged for nearly a week! for me that's a huge deal, as my polish usually begins to wear off at the tips the next day. i used this in conjuction with orly polish, and i'm just as happy with this stuff's performance as with opi. get it!
this stuff is ok- it did tame the rats nest that the shampoo made out of my hair- but it didn't do anything to add shine or vibrancy to my hair. after using this in conjuction with the shampoo for less than a month, my hairstylist was trying to talk me into cutting several inches off my hair! try ANYTHING ELSE but this for your color treated hair! blech.
CEEEERAP! you might as well wash your hair with dawn dishwashing liquid. i like the all soft line, but this stuff fried my hair! it had hardly any lather, even on the rinse and repeat. hmmm i wonder if my bitchy sil needs some shampoo? lol! i wouldn't even wish this on her. the dog is going to smell like redken for the next several months.
pretty good! i have very short stubby lashes, and this helps make the most of them...but honestly i don't think it's THAT much better than my revlon cheapie. i will say this one hasn't pinched me once, but i haven't had that prob with the cheapies once i learned how to use them. i do like the pad better, my eyelashes don't stick to it at ALL, even if i commit a makeup mortal sin and curl them after i've applied mascara. i did not bring this product home and go WOW look at the difference this makes, but i'm glad i have it in my makeup box.
LOVE this stuff! love all the badger balms. i bought this because i'm always looking for something to make rubbing my husband's troll feet a more enjoyable experience, and boy does this ever do the trick! i totally stole the tin for my feet, hands, elbows...the perfect little tin for next to the bed. it's even got charming graphics! love it! the foot rub is good too, pepperminty!
oooh love this stuff! when i first put it on i thought it was too bright for the first few seconds, but it sinks right into my lips, leaving them moist, but not glossy...natural but BETTAH. it also felt very healing and moisturizing. i'm going to go back to target and get several more colors. woohoo!
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
gigglemommy 5/4/2005 10:05:00 PM
WAHOOOO! this stuff ROCKS! i love it...i have greasy lids even in winter, and my shadow usually lasts for an hour or two without creasing, but it always fades before noon, even using a slew of other primers. through recommendation of a friend, i decided to give this one a shot, even though none that i've used have made much of a difference. THIS IS IT! it's ten pm, and my eyeshadow will still be there when the dh gets home. TRY IT OUT! LOVE IT!
Styling Products -Beyond The Zone - Beach Head Surf Wax
gigglemommy 4/10/2005 5:47:00 PM
ok i hate to go against the crowd here, but i was dissappointed in this product. i WANTED to like it, but i kind of left my hair looking dull and dry..it took the shine right out of my hair. the piecey look stayed nice for about an hour, then all clumped together into a dull looking mass. won't get this again.
Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme
gigglemommy 4/10/2005 5:39:00 PM
i love this one too! i just reviewed the banana, and i think that they are both pretty much the same thing except for scent. wish i could take the formula and put some of my own fragrance oils in it! it's such an INCREDIBLE product for my super dry, elephant-skin-on-my-knuckles hands. my cuticle split, i get hard little calluses on my fingers next to my nails, and i wash my hands alot...my youngest loves to make disgusting messes, lol! anyway these two creams soften and smooth, and i don't have to constantly reapply it. i bought the ultra expensive l'occitane, and now i wish i'd bought three jars of this instead. i use this morning, noon, and night and will continue to. HG!
