Huge fan of this technique. Does a fantastic job of getting rid of all mascara (even the waterproof stuff). Also smells wonderful. My skin looks so much better as a result of adding this to my skin care regimen as a makeup remover.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara

The waterproof mascara became smudgy after 4 hours. Also did not provide a dramatic enough result for me to justify the time applying it. I also found the large applicator tough to use (though I think that's me - not a reflection on the product). There are other, cheaper mascaras I like better. Not repurchasing.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco conditioner

Fantastic smell. Must use sparingly near the ends if you have naturally oily hair or a sensitive scalp. Too much and the hair gets greasy. And used sparingly, the bottle will last a long time.

Just the right level of moisture, a fantastic smell, and very concentrated so you don't have to use much. It also does not make my scalp itch like a lot of other shampoos. Definitely worth the money.

Eyeliner -MAC - Tarnish Eye Kohl

Tarnish is such a pretty color on my brown eyes. The eyeliner is easy to control and tends to stay in place all day with only slight smudging. Great stuff.

Cleansers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Gel Cleanser
rated 4 of 5

This does an excellent job of removing makeup and is a bit cool on the skin. It also seems to prevent breakouts. One lippie off since it makes my skin feel a bit tight. If I don't moisturize before putting on my foundation or before I go to bed, my skin gets dry and a little tight. Unusual since my skin tends towards the oily.

Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Kids SPF 50 Continuous Lotion Spray - Waterproof
rated 2 of 5
sakecat22 11/28/2007 8:59:00 PM

This stuff is so greasy and oily, I have to keep myself from toweling off the sunscreen. I have also inadvertently maced myself and other people near me in my attempts to apply the spray. It seems to splash everywhere and leave grease marks on whatever fabrics it accidentally hits. At least it behaves like a sunscreen and keeps me from getting burned. But I will NEVER buy this again.

Sunscreen -Alba Botanica - Green Tea Spf 30 Sunscreen

This is one of the few straight sunscreens that do not break me out. The smell is light and inoffensive and I don't feel like a slimeball after it's been on me in the heat. I also find that this does not drip into the eyes when you sweat. I've been using this regularly over the past year and have fallen in love with this stuff.

Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
rated 4 of 5
sakecat22 11/28/2007 8:49:00 PM

This is one of the best scrubs I've used. The crystals are fine and gentle. There is no heavy fragrance. My skin looks so much happier after I use it. Each time I use it, I like it more.

Masks -Kose - Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask
rated 3 of 5

Mask White is a decent peel off mask. It gets all of the miscellaneous junk off your skin. And my skin looks better after I use it. But I have 3 complaints: it is expensive ($25), it is messy, and it can be very painful to remove. The black mask is incredibly runny coming out of the tube and manages to get all over your fingers and the sink. Rinsing the mess requires warm water and patience. I also find it very difficult to avoid the eyebrows and hairline with this mask - it seems to have a mind of its own. Peeling the dry mask off can be painful and the mask often comes off in uneven flakes - even with a thick, thoroughly dry layer. I find myself peeling off what I can - then taking a shower with extra attention on the face so ensure I don't leave black goop on my face.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
rated 4 of 5
sakecat22 11/15/2007 8:50:00 PM

Back when I dyed my hair - I used Feria. This was the one OTC color that got compliments from hairdressers. The Espresso came in handy when a hairdresser inadvertently gave me pink highlights (they were supposed to be caramel). I used it as a wash to tone down the bad dye job - worked beautifully without drying my hair too much. I have very dark hair and I found as long as I stayed with darker colors - I would get fantastic results. Cons: I agree with everyone who says this stuff requires serious ventilation. Feria is also very messy to use - but no more than most haircolor at the time (I quit coloring my hair in 2005).

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 3 of 5
sakecat22 11/15/2007 8:33:00 PM

I find this liner much harder to use than the Wet and Wild. The brush is hard and the liner smears unless you are careful about application. I also find application uncomfortable - like you are using a marker against your eyes. I'm new to liquid liner application - but I'm finding these harder tips tend to be quite scratchy and more difficult to control. Once you manage to get the liner on - it lasts awhile. I'd buy it again - but only if I couldn't find the Wet n' Wild.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaliner Liquid Liner- Brown/Brun
rated 5 of 5
sakecat22 11/15/2007 8:28:00 PM

I've been playing with liquid liner recently. This is the only one I've tried that is truly dummy-proof. And the brown is absolutely gorgeous. I tend to wear light makeup and this color emphasizes my eyes without screaming "liquid liner." Lasts forever on me too. 12 hours later it's still exactly where I put it this morning. HUGE fan. Cheap too!

Sunscreen -Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 30
rated 4 of 5
sakecat22 11/7/2007 10:05:00 PM

This is one of the few mineral makeups that DON"T break me out. I use it as a finishing powder rather than by itself. Once you get the product started in the brush (took a couple of wearings to make it distribute evenly), it covers evenly. I do wish this was sold as a separate package so I can use my own washable brushes.

Cleansers -Cosmedicine - Healthy Cleanse Foaming Cleanser and Toner In One
rated 4 of 5
sakecat22 11/5/2007 6:00:00 PM

This is a good cleanser. Gets everything off. Doesn't aggravate my skin. The pump doesn't stick or clog. And it rinses clean. No zits or aggravation during use. It's expensive enough, however, to make me hesitate purchasing this cleanser frequently.
