Treatments -Creative Nail Design - Solar butter

I bought the very small jar of this to try it out. It really does smell great and the almond scent is not overpowering at all. It soaks in well and it works, but I think there are alot of other hand and nail moisturizers that are better and priced reasonably. The moisturizing effect just doesn't seem to last for me.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Super Strong daily shampoo
rated 3 of 5
RedNailz 12/5/2005 5:16:00 PM

I've been using the whole Super Strong system (shampoo, conditioner, treatment) exclusively for months. I've been through 2 bottles of shampoo & conditioner and, while they are nice products, I can't see any reduction in the breakage at all. My hair is fine and has always been prone to breaking, so I think it's worth it to try strengthening products. I won't keep buying this one (shampoo) though, because I can't see any difference. Of the Super Strong products, the deep conditioning treatment is the best.

Polishes -Revlon - Nail Enamel
rated 4 of 5
RedNailz 10/9/2005 7:23:00 PM

Revlon is one of my favorite polishes! OPI is better if you have an exact color in mind, but as far as application and wear are concerned, they are equal. And Revlon is cheaper. I have never had problems with bubbles. Just like any polish, some colors don't go on evenly (particularly the light ones) but today I'm doing my nails in Softly Red and it will completely cover in 2 coats.

Lip Liners -Ulta - Lip Liner
rated 1 of 5
RedNailz 10/9/2005 7:15:00 PM

I would never actually buy this. I got it with an Ulta coupon/certificate and I won't even waste a coupon on it next time. It was too dry & too difficult to work with.

Lip Liners -Wet 'n' Wild - #666 liner
rated 4 of 5
RedNailz 10/9/2005 7:08:00 PM

I use this as a liner for darker colors, not nudes. It also works great as a liner & base under Burt's Bees lip shimmer (love that stuff but it just doesn't wear well on its own). I would definitely buy this again. It wasn't dry it at all, but maybe that does depend on where it's made, like some other reviewers said. Mine was made in France.

Polishes -OPI - Skinny Dipn in Lake Michgn
rated 4 of 5
RedNailz 10/9/2005 6:56:00 PM

After being disappointed by another OPI beige (Have a Tempura Tantrum) that seemed to change tones once it was applied, I almost didn't buy Skinny Dipn. I am pleased to say that this color worked out SO much better! The sparkles are not enough to make it a frost or a shimmer, but they do seem to add depth and keep the color from looking flat. I applied thin coats over a ridge-filling basecoat and my manicure looked good for over a week. Beyond that, there was chipping but the chips weren't noticeable.

Polishes -OPI - ChicaGo Get A Manicure
rated 4 of 5

I am so happy with this color! I was a little worried because it looked too purple once I got out of the store, but it is actually a rich berry - almost a blackberry tone but not that dark.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Squease Shadow
rated 2 of 5
RedNailz 9/22/2005 7:29:00 PM

I just bought this in Carnation and wish I had bought Maybelline Liquid Eyes instead. The first problem was the applicator - it made a wide line but didn't deposit enough shadow to blend over the eyelid. The color was lighter than it looked in the tube so I had an almost white streak. I tried to blend the edges with my finger, which helped a bit, but the overall effect was blotchy. I didn't have time to remove it and start over, so I left it alone. Lucky for me, it didn't wear very well either, and I could smooth it out as it started to wear off. Even though it's almost too glittery, I'll go back to the Liquid Eyes after this!

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - No Ad self tanner
rated 4 of 5
RedNailz 7/31/2005 2:22:00 PM

I wanted to try this last year but could not find it anywhere. This year, Wal-Mart had it in tubes and bottles, and in varying shades/levels. I bought a tube of Medium for about $3. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this gives me a really nice color. The key (as with any self-tanner) is to blend completely. This formula doesn't dry too quickly so you can rub it in evenly. There is NO weird self-tanner odor at all! I had been using Neutrogena and had to stop because the smell is horrible. I use No-Ad on weekends and then maintain the color with Olay radiance during the week.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Liquid Eyes in All Day Cafe
rated 5 of 5
RedNailz 6/14/2005 11:09:00 PM

I tried this out on a hot, humid day and was very pleased with the results. It stayed on without creasing or straying. Since it is shimmery, I was afraid that it would end up leaving sparkles under my eyes but it really stayed put. I applied the shadow near my lash line, then quickly blended it a little with my finger. Otherwise I would've had a thick line. Like the other reviewer, I will be buying a darker shade of this, as well as another good all-over color.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 4 of 5
RedNailz 5/15/2005 4:07:00 PM

Huge improvement over the DDM lotion! To be honest, I do not follow the advice to use moisturizer all over the face. Trust me, I do not need to moisturize my forehead! But this gel is great everywhere else.

Fragrances -Demeter - pomegranate
rated 2 of 5
RedNailz 5/14/2005 6:53:00 PM

Ew! This smelled so good at first - very fresh and not heavy. But then it turned and was way too sweet. Unlike other Demeter scents, it didn't fade away quickly and I was stuck smelling it all day.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Butter - Brazil Nut
rated 2 of 5
RedNailz 5/14/2005 6:47:00 PM

I loved the smell but could not deal with the granules. I want my lip balm to be smooth! I even tried to sort of mash it up with my fingertip but my lips would still feel grainy. Plus, I felt like I could only wear it at bedtime or when I wasn't going anywhere because it gave my lips a whitish cast.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
rated 2 of 5
RedNailz 5/14/2005 6:37:00 PM

After all the hype, I'm disappointed in this product. Yes, it does moisturize but it's messy and almost sticky. The smell is overpowering.

Lip Treatments -Sephora - Operation Smile Lip balm
rated 3 of 5
RedNailz 5/14/2005 6:31:00 PM

This is a good basic lip balm. It doesn't have much of a scent at all, which is fine because I prefer no scent over lip products that are gaggingly sweet smelling. Plus it works and it isn't messy. I love the packaging - it's a great compromise between a stick and pot or tin.
