Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Sunlight Color Corrector
rated 3 of 5

This is a nice undereye concealer that does a great job - my dark circles are pretty much vanished after I apply it. It blends nicely and doesn't highlight tiny lines around my eyes. The problem is that it doesn't last. By lunch, my dark circles are back.

Primer/ Corrector -Boots - Mattifying Make-up Base
rated 2 of 5

I am ridiculously oily, so I tried this product to control my t-zone. It's pretty bad under foundation; it seeps into pores and makes my foundation look cakey. On its own, it's nice at controlling my oily spots and it evens out my complexion. I won't buy it again because I hardly ever go without foundation, so the day I do use it are far and few between.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Vinyl Lip - Velocity

This is a great drugstore brand lipgloss. It has lots of color and shine, and doesn't fade off too quickly. I like the scent/taste of it too.

Makeup Brushes -Cover Girl - Big flat top powder brush
rated 5 of 5

I bought this brush in a pinch several years ago - I needed something for loose powder because I didn't want to use a puff on my ridiculously oily skin, and a CVS was right across the street. And...I'm still using it! For loose powder, pressed powder, to brush off excess powder after application...it's great! And for the $4 I paid for it, it's done it's job and then some. Surprisingly for such a cheap product, there has been no shedding, nor has it lost its shape. Fantastic brush!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #116 Blush Brush

I've had this brush for a good 15 years. It's never lost form or shape, no shedding, and it picks up color and distributes it very nicely. I marked "yes" for buying this product again, but in all honesty I doubt I will ever need to replace it!

Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
KingTaco 3/9/2008 4:46:00 PM

I really like Neutrogena because it's the only foundation that I can find that completely matches my skin tone (no pinks!), and has a natural finish. I used this pressed powder foundation over Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid makeup, and it gave me an absolutely flawless finish. Not too matte, no shininess, no caking. My looked the same at 1am as when I put it on at 4pm. On its own, it's even and smooth without a powdery finish, but still no shininess. It looks too heavy when reapplied with the sponge applicator, so now I touch-up with a giant fluffy powder brush, but touch-ups aren't really needed if I use primer underneath. The price isn't bad: around $10USD, although I suspect if I use it every day I will have to replace it rather frequently. The packaging is awkward. I like the sponge applicator, and I like that it's held away from the powder, but it's not very easy access. And once I get the sponge, I have to flip back to the powder to put it on the sponge, and then flip back to the sponge-holder to use the mirror. EDIT - I started applying this without liquid foundation using a kabuki brush. My skin looks absolutely FANTASTIC. I have never ever had any makeup make me look so naturally good. Women at work have asked me, did I get a great facial? I tell them to go buy this (some of them have!). I cannot praise this enough. If it makes my splotchy skin look so completely even and natural, it will work for anyone.

Conditioner -Mastey - Smooth conditioner
rated 1 of 5
KingTaco 3/6/2008 12:13:00 AM

This is awful. My hair feels dry and brittle and as if it's breaking more since I switched to Mastey products. I cannot comb my hair after using this stuff without using a -cone product to smooth it out, but avoiding -cones is why I switched to Mastey in the first place. I bought it directly from the company with a money back guarantee, but they haven't responded to my emails.

Shampoo -Mastey - Restore shampoo
rated 4 of 5
KingTaco 3/6/2008 12:11:00 AM

This is a really nice shampoo - I bought it as part of the Sexy Shiny Hair in 30 Days Guarantee. My hair is not any shinier or sexier than it was before using this, but it's still nice and gentle. I wish it had a fragrance though. I probably won't buy it again because I like to use matching shampoo and conditioner and all the Mastey conditioners I've tried are awful.

This stuff is awful. It makes my hair hard to comb and I feel like it's been breaking more.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel
rated 5 of 5
KingTaco 3/6/2008 12:04:00 AM

After reading about this on here and on LJ beauty_101, I purchased Monistat. I knew I needed primer because my makeup is usually melted off by lunchtime, no matter how much I powder, and I wanted to try something cheap. This stuff is amazing! Yesterday I worked 14 hours and my makeup was still on when I got home from work. I have ridiculously oily skin so I still get some breakthrough shine, but it's nothing compared to how it was before Monistat. Monistat! Who knew?

Treatments -Prescriptives - Super Line Preventor
rated 5 of 5
KingTaco 3/4/2008 12:50:00 AM

I used to use this when I had cystic acne - my skin was always red and inflammed, but Line Preventor really calmed it down. I recommended it to a friend with rosecea and she liked it a lot. It's expensive, but a bottle would last me a good 6 months, using it twice a day. I could do without the eyedropper though. I would have liked a squeeze bottle or aluminum tube, so I didn't feel like I was wasting those last precious drops.

Moisturizers -Avon - Anew Ultimate
rated 5 of 5
KingTaco 3/4/2008 12:23:00 AM

I'm reviewing the day cream. I wasn't thrilled with the night cream. Pros: *SPF15 *This cream is very thick and heavy, but absorbs amazingly well. I have ridiculously oily skin but this does not contribute to my oiliness, at all. *Very smooth texture once it's smoothed on, almost like a primer. *It lasts forever - I've had mine a good six months. A little bit goes a really long way. Cons: *I haven't seen it on the Avon website in a while and I'm really afraid it's been discontinued. Avon, why do you do that??

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
rated 5 of 5
KingTaco 3/2/2008 10:52:00 PM

No matter what mascaras I try, I always go back to Defincils. It doesn't clump, makes my lashes look long and soft, and doesn't dry out in the tube. It's pricey, but I think it's worth every cent.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
KingTaco 3/2/2008 10:49:00 PM

I have to amend my review for this product because EDM changed the formula (without notice or warning) and has added Chromium Oxide Greens to my color (Olive Fair). COGs are a notoriously acnegenic product, making it completely unusable for anyone who doesn't want to break out.

Treatments (Eye) -Avon - Anew Clinical Eye Lift
rated 3 of 5
KingTaco 3/2/2008 10:44:00 PM

I can see my brows starting to droop as I get older, so I thought I would try this product to reverse some of the droopage. PROS *The cream is light and absorbs well without being sticky *The gel does not interfere with eye makeup, surprisingly *My eyes do seem a little bit bigger, although my eyeliner still smudges CONS *I am using the gel much slower than I am using the cream, so I'll have some left over *My brows do not seem lifted *This cream does nothing for my dark circles Overall, it's a good product, but not great, and definitely not the miracle I was hoping for. When I'm done with this I'll go back to Avon Lighten Up because this stuff doesn't do anything for my dark circles.
