Hair Color -Clairol - Radiance Colorgloss translucent deposit only color

OK, I read every review on this product before I used it, and here is my 2 cents. Yes...definitely grabs dark. I used 1 oz. of 6N light neutral brown, .5 oz. of 4N dark neutral blonde, and .5 oz. of clear shine with 2 oz. of developer. I left it on my chin length color treated hair for 10 minutes. Right now I think my hair is a bit too dark, but I'm not in a panic over it, because my haircolor always fades much too quickly for me in the summer, and also, I'm about to spend a week at the beach, and I'm not intending to be prissy about protecting my hair from fading when I want to have a good time on vacation! But damn, my hair feels great and looks nice and shiny and healthy. This time I took out my highlights and wrapped them in foil to protect them, and I'm so glad I did. Next time I experiment with this product, I intend to use it to give myself some lowlights to refresh my darker color, rather than using it all over. I think the underlayers of my hair which were not so faded didn't actually need any of this stuff. I'll also probably only process for 5 minutes or so next time. Over all though, I do like the results, and I'm going to be curious to see how well the color holds up for the four weeks that I usually go between color jobs. I am quite happy with the results though, just gotta play with the application a bit to find out what works best for me. Can't complain about the money savings though, and I think my hair feels just as good as it does following a trip to the salon.

Eyeliner -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy- Forever Stay Eye Pencil
rated 5 of 5

This is now my favorite eyeliner pencil. The colors I bought, navy and emerald green, are vibrant without being tacky. They glide on evenly without tugging, smudge nicely if that's your thing, and then set and stay put all day. I also noticed that when I use them to line underneath my upper lashes, they barely transfer to my lower water line, where I don't like the look of liner. I can't say that for Colorstay pencils.

Clothes -Victoria's Secret - IPEX Wireless Bra
rated 2 of 5

Maybe you have to have young, perky boobs to have luck with this one. Though I was fitted for it and it was recommended by the sales lady at VS, about two weeks after I bought these, I noticed that my boobs were constantly falling out towards the middle of them. Since I had purchased 4 for them, I went back to VS to see if they could remedy the problem, and the new sales lady said "Oh, they are cut too low down the center for you....you need the IPEX full-coverage bra!" Well, thank you, Victoria's Secret, but I'm not a bra expert, which is why I went to you in the first place. I'm too jaded to spend any more of my hard-earned money on their "expert" opinions. I thought the bra wore very poorly, since it fit fine at first, and stretched out so quickly.

I love this stuff!! It gives my hair such a pretty shine and touchable texture. And it feels so swingy. My hair just doesn't look and feel as nice without it. For reference, I have lots of fine, color-treated hair, mid-neck length.

I love this product too. It gives my fine wavy hair some heft without making it limp. I was very pleasantly surprised with the performance of this product.

Cleansers -St. Ives - Olive Cleanser

Well, I'm obviously in the minority here, but I really like this cleanser! I know it's shallow, but I really like the look of the bottle sitting on my counter. As for the product itself, I find that it does what it says: clean thoroughly and doesn't leave your face dry and tight. I've been using this for a few weeks now, and haven't had any breakouts of any kind. I like the smell too. The only negative I have to report is that I got it in my mouth once and it tasted awful. Edit 12-4-10...bumping this up to 5 lippies because I absolutely love it and repurchase it all the time....

Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

Wow, wow, wow!!! That's all I can say about this product. I bought it in Light/Medium to match the bit of summer color I am sporting right now, and it does match just about exactly. But what I really love about it, is that it is, as the lady a couple reviews below noted, really an excellent product for skin that's getting older. It's the first foundation that I have tried that doesn't highlight some aspect of my aging complexion that I would rather not call attention to. It really is a face-lift in a tube. It gives your skin that more even appearance that young skin naturally has, and the finish, which is matte without being flat, does not accentuate fine lines and large pores. It looks nice all day. I haven't even felt the need to wear powder over it. If you need very heavy coverage, this is probably not going to cut it for you, but I personally love the fact that this makes my skin looks so much better, without looking unnaturally perfect, if that makes any sense. And it covers my moderate undereye circles well enough that I haven't even bothered with concealer since I've been using this. Really, I couldn't be happier with this product. I think I might stop playing the foundation field, so to speak. When I see it BOGO, I'm stocking up!

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Tone Sugar Glow Exfoliating Bars
rated 4 of 5

OK, I never thought when I first used this body wash that I would ever purchase it again, because the smell!! Sooo sicky sweet!! But you just can't argue with the results that this wash provides....for some reason, my skin always looks extra glowy and radiant after I've used this wash! Since I alternate washes according to my mood when I shower, (yes, product 'ho) this is the wash I reach for when I really want my skin to look nice. And it cleared up the zits on my butt too. Even my hubby, who is absolutely clueless about such things, comments how great my skin feels since I've been using this wash. Now, if the kind people at Tone would just change that fragrance...I think a new Tone with the smell of Moroccan Caress and the results of Sugar Glow Tone would be an absolute winner!!

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
oscarnabby 8/22/2008 8:32:00 AM

Wow, this is only my second review after being a MUA addict for a year, but I really wanted to write and say how much I absolutely love this product! I've used UDPP, and was only happy with it for about a week....although it definitely made my eye shadow last all day, it emphasized every bit of aging my 41 year old eyelids have undergone to this point. So my eyelids looked very crepey but nicely shadowed all day!! What I love most about the Shadow Insurance is that I haven't sacrificed the wear of the shadows for the appearance of my eyelids. It's not that the TFSI hides crepey-ness, but it just doesn't emphasize it the way the texture of the UDPP does. And yes, there is no comparison between the two packaging systems...the squeezy tube wins hands down. I can't imagine buying any other shadow primer again as long as this is on the market.

Crème -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Cream Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
oscarnabby 11/11/2007 7:46:00 AM

Of all the foundations I have tried recently due to my MUA addiction, coupled with my frugal nature that makes me a confirmed drug store makeup buyer, this is the one I find myself using the most often. Personally, I really can't understand how people have commented on the large glitter particles in their IAR foundation, as I don't even detect any shimmer in mine. Maybe there was a batch of it that somehow had some glitter accidentally spilled in it. Anyway, I love the soft, blendable texture of this foundation. I blend it in with a slightly damp makeup wedge, and I think my 40 year old skin looks about 10 years younger....(though there is the possibility that I'm just deluding myself). Coverage is great, and as for color match, I bought the #2 foundation and the #4 foundation, and I mix them together equally, and it seems to match just fine. (Bought them BOGO at Walgreens, cause I'm frugal, and love to play the sale game). The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a five, is because this makeup does transfer off one's face, if you don't set with powder, which I don't because it makes me look like a cadaver. When I first bought it, I constantly found it on my phone, but if I'm careful and really blend in to my lower cheek area, I can minimize this problem. I have a feeling this will be too heavy for summer, though. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
