To me this is a dead ringer for Trish McEvoy Blackberry and Vanilla Musk but has no lasting power. Maybe layering is the best way to get it to stay which is why they make body wash, lotion, etc. Slightly sweet and slightly floral which is nice but just doesn't last.

I've had this for a few months and am loving it more as the weather cools off. The dry down is beautiful! Soft and slightly powdery but still sexy and floral. This isn't sweet at all on me and not spicy or overpowering, just clean and pretty. This is a tie with Bond No. 9 Saks Fifth Avenue as my HG perfume.

Lotions/ Creams -Gold Bond - Ultimate Healing Concentrated Therapy Cream

I purchased this out of despiration b/c my cuticles are in terrible shape! I pick and peel them so they're always painful. This cream is thick but not greasy and soothes my poor abused cuticles as well as my dry elbows. I even use this as hand cream before bed and my hands are silky soft in the morning. I'm sure this will come in handy with winter approaching. Also would like to note that this formula doesn't have the lavender that several of their other formulas have which is good for me b/c I'm allergic. Highly recommended!!!

My friend told me that I had to try this because it reminded her of us in high school. I wore Vanilla Fields and she wore Sunflowers, this is kind of a mix of the two. I really like it, it's similar to Burberry Brit. This fragrance lasts but isn't too strong, very nice.

Shampoo -ENJOY - Luxury Shampoo
junomacguff 7/27/2010 1:56:00 AM
This is my favorite sulfate-free shampoo! And one of the only SF poos that doesn't irritate my scalp. It lathers nicely and moisturizes my hair, doesn't strip or dry. My only issue is with the bottle, you waste so much with the flip top bottles. This still doesn't top my HG Kerastase Bain Satin 2, but it's a very nice alternative. Ingredients: Water, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfomate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycol Distearate, PEG-150 Distearate, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, Keratin Amino Acids, Tocopherol, Cetyl Triethylammonium Dimethicone Copoloyl Phthalate, Panthenol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate, Glyceryl Stearate, Fragrance.

I tried Moroccan Oil a while ago and found it to be too heavy for my fine hair. It also stained my hair a bit since I'm naturally blonde, I've heard of this happening from others too. I've been using Shu Uemura Essence Absolue but it's $65 a bottle and I've been looking for a cheaper alternative. I got a sample of this at Trade Secret and liked it right away. I've been using it over a week and my hair looks healthier and shinier. I flat ironed for the first time in a while today and my hair is so smooth, more so than with the Shu. This is definately a new HG for me!

I've been breaking out lately due to weather changes and rosacea flare, so I decided to give this foundation a try since it has .5% salicylic acid. The Fresh Alabaster is a great match for my yellow undertones and pink cheeks (I am NC15 or N3). This wears beautifully over my EltaMD UV Facial SPF 30, I don't even need to use powder to finish it. Doesn't accentuate my pores or occasional flakey spots. This foundation is very tenacious though, you'll need a good makeup remover to take it off. I use Clinique Comforting Cream Cleanser with a washcloth.

Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup

I bought this in W1 Porcelain, I am NC15/N3 and Extra Light in Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer. This color was seriously WHITE on me! It accentuated every pore and flake, I looked like I had some strange skin condition (besides the rosacea I actually have). Very disappointed.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser

This is a great cleanser for my very sensitive skin in the warmer months when I'm not as dry. My face feels clean but not dry and it removes light makeup. No irritation or burning either, skin feels smooth after using. Have bought several bottles, highly recommended for rosacea/sensitive skin.

Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Rosaliac Micellar Make up removal gel 4 face and eyes
junomacguff 2/28/2010 1:42:00 AM
This actually removed my Clinique Almost Makeup Foundation and Almost Powder foundation really well, I was surprised. I applied a thick layer with my hands and then removed with large cotton pads. My face was free of makeup but there was a film left behind, that's why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. I find Clinique TTDO Balm more effective and it leaves no film behind.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Saks Fifth Avenue for Her

My husband bought me a beautiful gardenia plant for Valentine's Day so I decided it was time for a great gardenia perfume. I went to my Saks and this was her first suggestion. I smelled it and immediately fell in love! It's a great white floral that's not over the top or artificial, just gorgeous. Notes: Jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, vetiver, vanilla. I don't really get the vanilla until I've been wearing it for a while. This totally blows Fracas out of the water for me. Love the bottle as well but can say this is the most expensive perfume I've ever purchased. Should last 10 years though. LOL!

I tried this at Macy's yesterday and though the bottle is cute, it's a dead ringer for the Escada summer fragrances that smell like fruit punch. Very sweet!!

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
junomacguff 1/26/2010 3:00:00 AM
Thanks to Sandrabati for posting the ingredients!! I've only been using for a few days but I do like it so far. Absorbs quickly and leaves my skin glowy. It did sting a tad when I first applied it which I attribute that to the niacinamide since I have no problems with the CeraVe lotion but it is getting better with each use. It was about $13 at CVS for 4 oz. Water Purified, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Niacinamide, Behentrimonium Methosulfate/Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6-11, Ceramide 1, Phytosphingosine, Hyaluronic Acid, Cholesterol, Dimethicone, , Polyglyceryl 3 Diisostearate, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
junomacguff 1/25/2010 7:19:00 PM
I've bought 6 of these so far, love them! I recently started having issues with my HG Kiehls lip balm and decided to try this when I saw it at Walgreens. It leaves my lips very soft but not waxy like Chapstick, just feeling moisturized. My son has very chapped lips and this lip balm really helped. He loves to put it on himself b/c the packaging is so cool, so he has his own sphere. I've also bought some for my 8 year old niece and she loves it too, carries it in her backpack. I bought them for 2/$5 so a great deal compared to what I've been buying.

Lotions/ Creams -Shi Kai - Borage Dry Skin Therapy
junomacguff 1/19/2010 3:48:00 AM
I decided to try this since I was having eczema troubles on my hands again and I'm glad I did. It's a great moisturizer especially after shaving my legs. Dries to a semi-matte finish, not greasy at all. My skin feels so soft when I use this too. I'm going to start using this on DS b/c he has stubborn eczema on his arms. I'd like to add that my skin is very sensitive and this didn't bother me at all. No detectable scent and no fragrant ingredients. Ingredients: Purified water, (aqua), Aloe vera gel (aloe barbadensis), safflower seed oil (carthamus tinctorius), glyceryl stearate (vegetable emulsifier), glycerine, jojoba seed oil (simmondsia chinensis), borage seed oil (borago officinalis), cetyl alcohol (vegetable wax), vitamin E acetate (tocopherol acetate), dimethicone, shea butter (butyrospermum parkii fruit), sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C), L-ergothioneine (amino acid), diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben.
