This eyeshadow looks like a nude champagne color with some sparkle but I can't really see anything when I apply it..just a few gold sparkles here and there. I can't even see the sparkles until I get up close in a mirror either. I don't think I will ever purchase this eye shadow because it would be a waste of money for me. Glad this was just a sample! Maybe it will show up on someone else who has a different skin tone than myself. I am NC20 at the moment for reference.
I like how this product has an spf of 30 but I don't like the fact that I can taste the sunscreen in it. It smells good and feels good when you first put it on but I just can't get over the taste. I also don't think it really moisturizes my lips that much..maybe even dries them out more.
Conditioner -Aussie - Hair Insurance Leave In Conditioner

This is by far the best drug store detangler/leave in conditioner I have ever used. I have used this for several years and have probably tried almost every other drug store detangler/leave in conditioner out there because this product is always sold out making me try something else on occasion. This makes my hair smell good (yes I like the coconut smell) detangles it, and makes it much much softer. My hair feels so dry and brittle without this. First I'm going to start out by saying that I have really long, thick, coarse, curly, dry hair that is blow dried and straightend with a flat iron every day. I'm also going to say how I use this product because I don't think alot of people know how. After washing, conditioning using regular conditioner (I use Tressemme) then rinsing my hair after I shower I spray this on my wet hair, and then brush it to evenly distribute the product. Sometimes I use alot sometimes a little, it just depends on how tangled my hair is. then I use my other hair products such as mousse then blow dry my hair and straighten it, style as usual. This product is awsome if you are looking for something to detangle and soften your hair. It does NOT work to fight frizziness! You will also still need to brush your hair sometime during the day...its not going to make your hair so wonderful you no longer need to brush it (I don't know any product that does that..once I find it I will be in heaven and write a review from there). The only gripe I have is the spray bottle is kind of hard to push sometimes but I don't really care as long as I like the product. Give me a great formula and a mediocre spary nozzle any day over a fantastic spray nozzle and horrible product.
Treatments -Pantene - Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Silkening Detangler
jdmcgi2 1/23/2011 4:16:00 PM
I really did not like this detangler/leave in conditioner at all! This did somewhat detangle my long thick hair after showering but it left a dry oily feeling to my hair once dried. Its kind of hard to explain but my hair just looked horrible after using this and did not look fresh at all. I bought this because my usual detangler/leave in conditioner was sold out which is aussie hair insurance leave-in conditioner. I love the aussie hair insurance soooo much better. It detangles my hair just as well and I can really tell a difference in my hair if I don't use it. It makes my hair softer and healtheir looking and doesn't weigh my hair down at all. I'm throwing the pantene detangler out even though the bottle is half way full.
This was my first MAC eyeshadow I ever purchased. I loved it then and years later I am still in love with the color. Soba is the perfect neutral brown without shimmer. I have gone through several pans over time. When I am feeling lazy and I just swipe this on my lid and head out the door. It also makes a great crease color. It has a satin finish and seems to go on really smooth. This is a great color that I will continue to purchase again and again. Perfect for a natural eye look! If you are looking for a basic neutral brown give this a try!
I tried this eye shadow becase I was trying to find a dupe for the LE eye shadow Hey from MAC. I absolutely love this eye shadow color! The color is champagne shimmer/frosty. While the color is almost exactly the same as Hey, Kitten has tons more shimmer and has more of a frost looking finish on me. Hey is the perfect daytime champagne color and kitten is the perfect night time champagne color. Although, I wear shimmer and kitten during the day as well. It looks so pretty as a dramatic highlight. I recently used golightly by stila all over my lid and crease and kitten as a highlight on the center of my lid and under the brow bone and I loved it! Kitten will definitely be a staple and frequently used eyeshadow in my collection but I will still be on the lookout for my beloved LE Hey so I can have both! By the way this was my first stila eye shadow and it went on really smooth and pigmented. They are easy to blend into oblivion though and don't last long without a primer but using Urban decay primer stila shadows lasts all day long! (I also have very oily eyelids though)
This eyeshadow came with urban decay's show pony palette. It seems to be a peachy pink color with HUGE chunks of gold glitter. I didn't really realize how big the chunks of glitter were until they were all over my cheeks from the fallout. I had to keep rubbing my cheeks all day to get the glitter off. It was horrible. To make things even worse, the color didn't look that great on me either. It made me look like I had been rubbing my eyes. I might have been able and willing to play around with this color to get it to work or tried when I have more of a tan but the glitter was just too much for me. There is no doubt in my mind that snatch will be thrown away when I am finished with the other colors I like from the show pony palette.
I think Im one of the few people that like this eyeshadow. I originally bought this as a highlight color for under my brows but now I also love to use it as a wash over my matte shadows to give them some sparkle. I have also used this alone with some black eyeliner for a sheer sparkle. It makes matte black when doing a smokey eye really different and pretty on my eyes! The sparkles are rather small in my opinion and are true silver in color. I already knew it was pretty sheer having tried it on at the counter so I was never disapointed with the color payoff. There is alot of glitter in this eyeshadow so if you don't like glitter then don't buy this product. Also be aware that this might have some fallout. For some strange reason I have never really had a problem with fallout from filament but it sounds like other people have. The only reason I gave it a four instead of five was because the glitter feels a little rough and gritty...not smooth. Although I didn't find that the glitter was as big or gritty as say snatch from the pony palette by urban decay which I hate. Overall I would repurchase. I'm on my second pan now.
I love love love this eyeshadow! Hey came in my one of the fafi eye quads a few years back. I totally fell in love and used it everyday all over the lid, as a highlight, and on the inner corners of my eye. When I hit pan a few months later i freaked out and tried to not use it as much because it was LE. I quickly rushed to the MAC counter to see if i could find a similar color. The only thing that came close was naked lunch or all that glitters....however...naked lunch is much more pink and all that glitters is much more orange than hey and I almost shed a few tears. Hey is a beautiful champagne eyeshadow that has some shimmer. It is the perfect nude eyeshadow for my skintone..not too pink...not too orange. Perfect for day or night. I had no idea they did a repromote few months ago until it was too late. Had i known about this LE shadow appearing once more I would have probably bought at least 3 backups and I never buy backups! That being said...I have heard that the stila eyeshadow in kitten is really similar so I guess I will try that since my pan of Hey officially ran out today.
Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Non-Oily Eye Makeup Remover Pads
jdmcgi2 12/23/2010 5:40:00 PM
This product was a major let down. After reading the good reviews I thought I would give this a try since I was looking for something cheaper to replace my lancome eye remover. These pads took forever to remove my eye makeup. I had to rub my eyes to get the makeup off and then my eyes looked all red, raw and irritated. It also dried out the skin around my eyes as well and made my eyes water. I guess I will stick with lancome for now which I love but wish I could find a cheaper alternative.
Carolin's Pride is described as a deep violet shimmer. I think it looks pretty true to that color in the pan but when I applied it it looked more like a burgandy or mauve violet color than deep violet. My skin is on the neutral side light to medium and this made me look like i was bruised or crying. I feel like it is sometimes is close to the unwanted purplish red pigment i get under my eyes sometimes. Not very flattering. The only way I could wear this was if I applied a black color on top to make it more of a deep purple.
Armelle is a holographic lavender shimmer color according to sephora. I think this is more on the light or pale lavender side. It reminds me of a light lavender cousin to lancome's eyeshadow in drama. Really pretty color..just not for me. The pale lavender color washes me out. I wish I liked this because the color is so unique and holographic as it claims. Sephora says it is long lasting but I don't think it really is unless you use a primer but then again I have oily eyelids. When I used my urban decay primer it lasted all day. The application was really smooth and flawless as well.
Foundations -Stila - one step makeup [DISCONTINUED]
jdmcgi2 12/16/2010 6:18:00 PM
Got a sample of this not too long ago and the packaging says it is buildable coverage, long wearing, paraben free, controls oil and hydrates, minimizes pores and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. All of this sounded too good to be true and....it was. The first time i applied it i used a brush and was left with brush marks. The second time I used my fingers and it looked great. This foundation has good buildable coverage and the medium color wasn't an exact match but not bad...i figured i could get a different color if i liked the sample. However, i started to notice how every flake or dry patch on my skin was standing out and my pores were actually more visible than before! Then I noticed all these fine lines poping out everywhere! my skin looked old and cakey. I would only use this product if i was 18 or younger and had normal skin. Not the product for me. I was completely disapointed. Glad this was just a sample!
This tinted lip balm feels so good when it first goes on. My lips felt moisturized and soft...but the feeling faids within an hour or so and you are just left with a stained lip color and no moisture. This product didn't seem to dry my lips out in the long run but I'm not crazy about how this color looked on me either.
This product was given out with one of lancome's GWPs. If this creme wasn't so expensive I would definitley buy this product. It really moisturized my skin and made it look a little more radient and best of all it didn't break me out. I have combination skin and when i used this product my face evened out. It did become a little shiny but all I had to do was brush a little powder on my face and it was taken care of. Powder can sometimes look too dry on my skin but it helped make my skin look perfect in combination with this creme. It moisturized my skin so much i actually had to use this creme for a few days and then switch back to a regular moisturizer for a day or too then continue use. I didn't mind doing this and Im sure more mature skin would not have to worry about that at all. I don't really know about the wrinkle fighting ability but if you have the money to spare it would be a great product to check out if you have dry skin.
