Skincare - Body -Kiehls - Lavender Foaming-Relaxing Bath w/Sea Salts and Aloe Vera
casia 4/21/2003 4:57:00 PM
What is the hype?? I poured half the bottle in, got no foam, scent was really really faint, as if I had a Lavender Plug-In three rooms away. Not moisturizing, not softening. Thumbs down.

Liquid -Stila - Illuminating Liquid Foundation
casia 4/21/2003 4:53:00 PM
This product was too oily and heavy for me. (My skin is normal/combo, to slightly oily in summer.) I found it was not blendable and sat on top of my pores as if to say "here we are!" My face looked like a Lite Brite board. Color range is limited, also.

Powder -Stila - Illuminating Powder Foundation
casia 4/21/2003 4:50:00 PM
IF you have dry skin I imagine this would be a very nice foundation for you. I liked the color and the consistency, but I had a horrible breakout much of the time I used it. I thought it was stress as it didn't feel oily or give an oily finish. My dermatologist commented on my facial breakout while I was at an appointment--I didn't know it was so bad. I stopped using it and a week later I was o.k. My skin is normal to slightly oily in warm weather, so anyone like me or oiler might want to avoid this.

Eyeliner -Vincent Longo - Eyeliner

Very dry texture, drags, not impressed. I bought it because the color was SO perfect. The best black/brown ever. Too bad it was not for me.

Shampoo -Phyto - Phytorhum shampoo
casia 4/21/2003 4:44:00 PM
If you want your hair to faintly smell like pound cake, this is a good means. It smells great and rinses clean. I don't find it too moisturizing, so I recommend it for those w/ hair in pretty good condition. The glass bottle is awkward of course, but ahh those Euro luxuries.

Treatments -Frederic Fekkai - Protein RX Anti-Breakage Treatment Mask
casia 4/21/2003 4:41:00 PM
HATED this product. I waited for it @ Sephora and couldn't get back to return it fast enough. It didn't do anything it claimed, if anything it seemed to leave my hair in *worse* condition--something I'd expect for $1.99 @ Walgreen's, but not for this.

Bath Treatments -Ahava - Ahava Dead Sea Bath Salts
casia 4/21/2003 4:37:00 PM
I do feel very, very relaxed when I use these salts. More relaxed than my standard Bath and Body Works? I "think", but who knows. I like to take a long hot bath after a tiring workout. My muscles do feel better, and my skin in very soft. However, I need to use a lot of this in my tub to get the spa-perfect effect, so it's therefore very expensive. If you want to splurge, do it. If not, go with Olbas (found in health food stores) or Kiss My Face Active Athletic.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
casia 4/21/2003 4:32:00 PM
I do not like anything by Burt's Bee's. I want to, since Burt and his Key West-style garb is so likeable, but I don't. This lip balm seemed to dry out my lips.

Lip Treatments -Philosophy - Kiss Me lip Balm

My crackled, weather-beaten lips have treid about everything. I really like this, it is somewhere in my top 3. (Fickle. :)) Not heavy, seems to absorb, the container (although I'd prefer a tube) is long-lasting. I've had this for two months and use it nightly, still a ton left. I think it's worth $10, if you are a fan of lip balms and nothing else seems to be working. It may be slightly too "Vaseline" for some users, however I find it sinks in much better.

Conditioner -L'Occitane - Shea Butter Hair Conditioner
casia 4/21/2003 4:26:00 PM
I love L'Occitane products and going to their shops, but this product disappointed me. I found that it was heavy, yet didn't absorb into my dry tresses--just sat there. Scent was too overpowering and I normally like lasting scents. Too globby, nothing special.

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic [DISCONTINUED]
casia 4/21/2003 4:20:00 PM
This is one of, if not THE, best liquid foundation I've tried. I do not like liquid, so I dont' use it too often--only when I need more coverage. The color (I use buff 2, 4 and 6 depending on the time of year) is quite natural, coverager is light and for the most part easy to blend. However, this foundation, and maybe it's me, seems unpredictable! For example: 1) Sometimes, I find it to be a bit too oily/shiny, although it is oil-free. This has nothing to do w/ weather or my skin. Very hit or miss. 2) Sometimes it goes on a little streaky without extended blending. 3) Sometimes it seems to accentuate pores and/or dry patches if I haven't really scrubbed prior to application. All things considered, I do like it...most of the time it looks great. I wish it was a little thinner/smoother in application, and more matte. If you are a fan of liquid foundation I recommend it. The colors are very nice.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Bath, Shampoo & Shower Gel
casia 4/21/2003 4:14:00 PM
I bought this after much deliberation and many months of sniffings because I loved the smell. It lathers nicely and smells good in the shower, but I didn't find the fragrance to last or be moisturizing. Nice on the pouf, not too special right after. I would buy again to give it as a gift because I think it's nice for someone who appreciated b&b pampering, but I wouldn't get it again for myself.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Go Pout
casia 4/17/2003 2:41:00 PM
LOVE Go Pout in Sugar Daddy. It's one of those rare shades that's neutral but colorful, shiny but not gawdy...I can pair it w/ many different liners and it blends and "adjusts". I love Go Pout, they're moist and do seem to plump my skinny lips. Some of the colors are a little too grey/flat, or outdated IMO, but if you find a color you like it's great. Short tube is nice too. Lipstick -Origins - Creamy Lip Color
casia 4/17/2003 2:36:00 PM
Didn't like this lipstick at all, I've tried almost every color. I bought and entire sample set off eBay, thinking how great it would be to have the whole demo in your home! It would have been, but I found the texture and colors really awful on everyone except one, I believe Neptune was a nice neutral, reddish brown. Drying. Bad news.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint
casia 4/17/2003 2:32:00 PM
I love this stuff! Looks great, adjustable coverage. I am not a usual Clinique user, but I tried something like this of theirs many moons ago that was discontinued (as all the things we FINALLY love are!) I find it long lasting, where shadows usually crease on me, and the colors esp. sable and plum, are flattering for most, I'd think. Inexpensive, lasts forever.
