This powder has a nice formula, it is very fine and goes on smoothly, it also has a nice scent. Coverage is buildable and it comes in several shades, shade 2 was a perfect match for me.

Palettes -E.L.F. - Elements 4-pan Compact
bethb216 7/17/2008 4:24:00 PM
I bought this compact as well as 4 elements to fill it, Eyeshadows in Sage and Golden Glow, and then blush in Glow, and lip gloss in Peach... this was one of the best buys I have made. The compact itself is sturdy and very nice looking, doesn't look cheap at all, and it comes with a large mirror. The eyeshadows are super pigmented, you literally just have to barely touch the brush to the shadow to pick up more than enough. You can't go wrong with the elements compact... the elements I added to it were almost exactly like the Chanel spring collection compact that cost 54 dollars.

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush - All colors [DISCONTINUED]
bethb216 6/20/2008 6:00:00 PM
I purchased this blush (I cannot remember the exact shade) but it is fantastic, it stays on all day, blends flawlessly, and gives that "I just took a brisk walk" glow that we all desire. The packaging is great, small and tidy... and because it's a mousse you can stick it in your purse without worrying about it crumbling or turning to dust. I would recommend using a brush though becuase it could get a little funky if you keep dipping your fingers in there.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Last Lip Wear in 413B
bethb216 6/20/2008 5:50:00 PM
This is my HG lip color! I wear it every single day. The shade says "rose gold" but it would be more aptly named "peach gold" it's a fantastic medium peachy pink neutral shade with a hint of golden shimmer, but not trashy shimmer. It's perfect for spring, summer, and fall. It goes on with a very smooth consistency, and stays on quite a long time, for $1.99 you absolutely cannot go wrong. I'm a medium toned (slightly olive) light brunette with bright green eyes, and it is the best shade of lipstick I have ever used... I find that I cannot typically wear most peach or pink shades because they wash me out, but this one is perfect. I've tried pretty much every brand known to woman, from MAC to Chanel, and this is the only lipstick I will ever wear again, from now on. I'll definitely be heading back to target for a few back ups. For a buck 99 you should definitely give it a shot, I'm pretty sure this would work on every skin tone... except maybe yellowish. The only downer is the packaging... the top of the tube doesn't like to stay on... and so the first day I had it the top gouged a chunk out of it when it came off in my purse... and subsequently I had a tiny mess to clean up... now I just keep a rubber band around it :) a cheap fix for cheap lisptick

Polishes -Chanel - Blue Satin
bethb216 6/20/2008 5:44:00 PM
This is a gorgeous very chic shade of nail polish... it varies between looking an inky, midnight blue with very subtle sparkles (if you're in the sun) to an almost 100% true black if you're indoors or in artificial lighting. . It does not go on the exact shade the bottle shows, so don't expect a bright midnight blue- you're going to get an inky shade instead. It isn't the longest lasting laquer... even with a top coat it tends to chip after a day or two, but if you touch it up, it will easily last a week to 10 days. It goes on very smoothly and is a nice, thick consistency so if you're in a hurry, one coat will do the job, although I always prefer to use two, plus a top coat. A clear top coat is absolutely necessary for 2 reasons... 1) it chips easily... 2) if you don't put a top coat on, it tends to dry a bit more matte than I'd like, which is why I rated it a 4 instead of a 5. I do find it to be rather outrageously priced at 20 dollars a bottle, but as an occasional splurge I find it worthy :) Note: when you use this polish, be sure to give it AT LEAST a full HOUR to dry... use it when watching a movie or something... becuase if you give it any less time to dry, you will smudge it!!! be warned! I one time had it on for a full day and then sat on my hands while wearing jeans, and I literally had a bluejean pattern in my polish- I would not expect that after a full day of wear. (Another reason it got a 4... had it not been such a fantastic shade, I'd have rated it a 3 simply because the stuff does NOT dry properly) EDIT: I sold it on ebay- I have decided I hate Chanel nail polish because the stuff just does NOT dry... I've been getting much better results with OPI and even Revlon than I did with Chanel, which is a pity, because Blue Satin is SUCH a gorgeous shade.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Love Spell
bethb216 6/20/2008 5:36:00 PM
As a 23 year old woman I still love this scent... yes, I wore it in highschool, and yes everybody else did too, (everyone from the geeks to the preps) but it smells fantastic, very fresh and fruity, but not overpowering. (as someone with scent allergies that's very important to me) I've noticed a lot of people bashing this scent and here's my theory... The little girls that say it's strippery or whore-y or skanky or whatever are the resentful girls who didn't enjoy the highschool experience and were hateful and jealous of the girls that wore it and did ...in other words...haters. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but you can be classy about it! To the women who don't like the scent and simply say that they don't like it and why, BRAVO! to the girls who feel it necessary to demeane people who do like the scent... grow up, and get over your jealousy issues.
