Liquid -Christian Dior - Capture Totale Liquid Foundation SPF15

I got this as a sample. I was matched to O20. I find that this foundation is spreadable and buildable. It feels very light but quite pigmented so you only need a little. It has a healthy glow effect and does not emphasize the flaking skin around my lip area. This feels very nice and natural on your face but made me oily after 2-3 hours. It is also reasonably priced at about S$70 per 30 ml bottle. I think this an excellent foundation for normal to dry skin.
Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
Tess35 1/26/2008 12:11:00 PM
EDIT: I am editting my review as I find that this hand cream does not do anything but provide minimal moisture. I guess this is inherent as it is designed to dry fast. I don't feel any silkiness or softness in my hands after this dries up. I also noticed that it accentuates the little fine lines around my fingers. I will compare this to Neutrogena h/c -only that Neutrogena has higher quality and lower price.
Lotions/ Creams -Crabtree & Evelyn - Gardeners Hand Therapy

I have used this before but switched to other brands when I ran out. I remember that I find this a little too greasy for AM use. But when I noticed those tiny lines on my knuckles and fingers, I was reminded why I hang onto this lotion for a very long time (the tube lasted me a year). This cream has superb moisturizing power- it erased my hand wrinkles that are starting to claim territory. L'occitaine 20% shea butter and AHAVA hand cream are both excellent hand product that absorbs pretty fast but they don't really do much to improve my hand appearance. So now, I only use them in the AM and use this hand cream at night. But instead of repurchasing the tube version, I purchased the lotion with pump instead. EDIT: I think this lotion, tube or pump version, has been reformulated over the years. It is not greasy anymore and absorbs quite fast. My only gripe is that it has lost its moisture-penetrating properties.
Foundations -Helena Rubinstein - Prodigy foundation

The SA gave me a sample of this when I bought the magic concealer. I have fair-medium skin and quite surprised that Porcelain fits my coloring flawlessly. Don't know what's in this foundation that gives good coverage that is very natural looking. All I know is that its performance is at par with Sisley oil-free foundation without the heavy tag price.
This is a review for Eight Hour Skin Protectant. I do not know what this product is for. It's too greasy and sticky for any part of the body. And too runny for the lips. I tried very hard to at least use a portion of the tube but I could not swallow it's stickiness. It clings to anything that touches your skin. Tried to use on my heels but it has no lasting effect. Not so expensive but a total waste of money as it cannot cling long enough to your skin to work (if it ever does).
I can't express enough my delight with this concealer. I don't have concerns with undereye circles or puffiness so I do not know how effective this product is on that area. I used Covermark on my red acne scars and fine veins before and it also gave good coverage. But for versatility and blending texture, I'd settle for HR. I remember the SA telling me that this product will be discontinued and is currently being replaced by another concealer. EDIT 25/8/2008: I strayed over to CdP and it was a very big mistake. I switched back to HR and suddenly I began loving my powder and fdn all over again. This concealer melts into my skin after 1-2 hours and blends well with any powder. My only gripe is that color no.3 which used to be okay for my skin is now looking a bit too dark, while no.2 is tad too light.
This is the most flattering blush that I have ever seen on me. I don't normally wear blush so any color on my face that is different from my powder foundation is very obvious to my eyes. And I hate the clownish or the unnatural look. Sable is so subtle and makes my face look so soft and fine. My most favorite among my blushers. HG!
I am not a blush person. I hate strong colors specially those that are unnatural. This is my first blush from Chanel, the third in my collection. I tried this based on the reviews here at MUA. I knew that this would be one of my HG the minute I tried it on. This is very light pink with yellowish base that I think will look flattering on anyone. On my medium tone skin, this appears very light pink that gives a very subtle glow, makes me look healthy and well rested. Hubby says that I look gorgeous and happy with this. The pinkish color is not so obvious on me, instead the color blends well and unify my complexion. Highly recommend. EDIT: I took one lippy off as I found a more natural and flattering color in Chanel Sable. However, this is still my HG in pink blusher category.
I saw this in a store at Katong Shopping Mall yesterday and almost passed it by until the SA told me that they are selling this for S$76 for 15ml bottle. I bought it because I am a sucker for discount although I am not aware whether my skin is sensitive or not. This oil is quite greasy to use on the face in the morning. But with my Hydra B5 gel, it works great for my neck AM and PM. When used at night on the face, it tends to help greatly with redness and does not cause any breakouts. EDIT: This is collecting dust on my dresser. Too oily to use anytime in Singapore.
Hair -Kiehls - Hair Conditioner and Grooming Aid Formula 133
Tess35 1/4/2008 2:18:00 AM
The best conditioner there is for the following reasons: 1. Very light texture. 2. Does not give me acne or any form of break out. 3. Does not make my face oily 4. Does not weigh my hair down 5. Leaves my hair shiny I use this with Amino Acid shampoo and always rinse off. For reference, I have long hair and the only thing that touches my hair is henna + indigo and Sisley botanical extract for hair and scalp. Worth every penny.
Lip Treatments -Blistex - DCT for lips - Daily Conditioning Treatment SPF 20
Tess35 12/27/2007 10:50:00 PM
I love this lip treatment. I use this almost everyday especially when I go outdoors and when I go to freezing-cold countries. I just wish that Blistex will have this is stick version. I hate dipping my finger in the tub. EDIT: I add another lippy as this is just a great product. Gives glossy base for lipstick, not runny.
Blush -Guerlain - Divinora Radiant Blush in Beige Chair
Tess35 12/25/2007 10:15:00 PM
Does not highlight some of my imperfections unlike some blusher that have a bit too much of shimmering. However, I apply with a light hand but still looks clowney on me, even with my own brush. EDIT: I don't like the idea of practicing application in order for a blush to work on me. But since this is a little pricey, I kept on trying in vain until I discovered YSL POP STICK BLUSH #2- three swipes on each cheek and I have that fresh from the cold flush.
Liquid -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation SPF15
Tess35 12/23/2007 11:40:00 PM
My face is reacting terribly to this foundation, even if I use twice weekly only. EDIT: Anything on top of LP Extraits of Skin Caviar looks fav including this foundation. So if you do not have any breakouts from using this, I highly recommend upping your satisfaction level by using the Extraits under. EDIT 2: After 8 months and since my skin is behaving quite well lately, I use this fdn again on top of LP Extraits of Caviar. This primer enables me to apply this stuff like a tinted moisturizer. And again I am reminded how really beautiful this stuff is. Spreads like butter, feels creamy and looks really amazing. With light hand, it becomes my second skin. Layered, it perfects my skin. The concealer is the exact shade of the fdn. If you use a good primer that is slippery, you can achieve a very natural look and with the concealer, no flaw is in sight. This is my favorite application. I really love my skin when I wear it. Phenomenal.
Best toner ever. Been using this for over a year. Cleans well and does not irritate my acne-prone skin. Makes my skin bright and does not leave my skin taut. I just hope that LP will drop the glass bottle for a more friendly plastic ones. If you can splurge a bit more, try this one.
I hate oily or greasy lotions and this is why I love Ahava. It is absorbed quickly. Keeps hands soft and silky throughout washing. I even use this on my elbows and now they are pretty smooth. I have discovered Caudalie and I am reducing my rating for this h/c
