Absolute HG. I was so terrified to try this given that I react to 99% of products, and I was so worried this might be too harsh. I started out ordering a couple of sample packs off Ebay, and loved it so much I just got my full size kit (20% off from skinstore.com). I'm extremely sensitive, but am realizing that quick wash off treatments like this and the Zia Ultimate Exfoliant are alot more friendly to my skin than leave-on products. I have been using this once a week, and might bump it up to twice a week. If you have a big event, use this before putting on your makeup cos it makes you glow like nothing you've ever seen, and the best part - it makes your makeup last REAL long. This is probably the most effective product for giving you a radiant glow that I've ever tried - most masks have that effect for a very short time. Skin is super soft, even toned, helps a little with fading of dark marks from pimples. I would definitely continue buying this no matter how much it costs. UPDATE : I tried bumping the use of this up to twice a week but I started breaking out. Now back to once a week.

Treatments (Eye) -100 Percent Pure - Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream

Argh. Something in this is highly irritating. Some of it accidentally got in my eyes, and my eye was stinging and red the rest of the day. Worst reaction to an eye cream for me so far. Definitely not for those with sensitive eyes. On the plus side, it's ALOT of eye cream that'll last you real long for a very low price. Thought the smell was a little too strong too.

I was hoping for the best with this. I'd previously tried the C+E on the rest of my face but got severely irritated. I thought maybe the lower % of Vit C in this might be easier on my skin, so I got a sample from Skin-Etc.com when I ordered something else. Again, I got irritated, probably the ferulic is the culprit. Oh well, at least it was only a sample.

Got a tiny tube of this as a sample when I ordered something from Skin-Etc.com. I used it to moisturize over my Avene Eluage. It didn't really hydrate as well as my staple the Caudalie eye cream, and it stung my cheeks a little soon after application. Luckily I got a sample first cos it's pretty pricey.

Cleansers -La Vitton - Water-soluble Facial Cleansing Oil
rated 1 of 5
TRKK 10/21/2006 3:06:00 AM

Bought this based on the overwhelmingly excellent reviews here. I really wanted to like it and thought I would given that my skin does fine with essential oils - my HG moisturizer is Dr Haushcka. Unfortunately, as with most other things that people rave about on this board, I was irritated by something in this. My normal oil cleanser is Shu Uemura Light, and this oil is ALOT heavier and thicker in texture than the Shu which is very watery. The La Vitton washes off fine though. This oil though, stung a little when it went on and after I'd washed it off, my whole face felt tight, even though I bought the Normal/Dry skin version of the oil. I bought the eye oil too, but am probably going to skip it since I couldn't tolerate the cleansing oil.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I got this because my usual Kiehl's lip balm wasn't cutting it anymore, and love it. Keeps dry lips moisturised for alot longer than the Kiehl's. Only gripe is that the tube packaging, which is alot more sanitary than the tub is not ideal for application to the lips - I got the 1.75oz tube, so I'm gonna get round that by buying those small sample tubes on Ebay once this one is done. Super cheap too.

Treatments -Avene - Diacneal Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]

I bought this to use as a spot treatment for pimples and pimple scars - luckily I tried it on spots only and not full face. The spots that I applied it too actually got worse and more clogged, I think it's something to with the silicone in it (3rd on list of ingredients), which my skin doesn't like. Let me add that I have been using AHA for awhile now, so it's not purging from that. Am now using Eluage (which has the same cyclomethicone but further down on the list)for SCT and so far so good.

Masks -Zia - Oat Milk Detoxifying Mask
rated 2 of 5
TRKK 10/16/2006 8:30:00 AM

I bought this with high hopes given the raves about it here and on the boards. It's a gel type mask with an overpoweringly sweet fragrance. The only thing it did for my skin was make it really soft afterward, but it caused some breakouts and irritation. The tub packaging is also not ideal - unsanitary.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser

Sigh. I really loved this cleanser. For some reason it added hydration so my skin looked especially plump. However after a few washes, my skin started to react to it. No breakouts, but irritation on my cheeks which are my most sensitive area. Now am hoping my La Vitton order which is on the way will work out better.

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel
rated 4 of 5
TRKK 10/13/2006 11:29:00 PM

I bought this to use specifically as a spot treatment for pimples because I've been using Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel as a spot treatment and it doesn't seem to be as effective on pimples anymore. When I first got it, the strong alcohol smell made me regret buying it and initially, I was worried that it might be too strong/drying due to the alcohol. I still definitely would not use this full face. Also one gripe I have is the pump pumps out too much gel if you're using this only as a spot treatment. However, it's been doing very well in getting rid of minor zits (nothing major for me to test it out on). I was surprised also by the fact that it feels quite mild - no stinging at all, whereas the Paula's Choice does sting. Granted, I've just started on Vit C so healing and breakouts disappear alot faster, but this has helped also. UPDATE : Decided to try this in place of my usual Paula's Choice 8% AHA AND 2% BHA on my T zone every night, because I realise those two weren't doing anything at all about fading marks left from pimples. This is surprisingly not as drying as I thought it's be. The best part is it doesn't leave a tacky feel like the PC does. It's doing a much better job at keeping blackheads on my nose away than the PC. Have decided to switch permanently to this from the Paula's Choice AHA AND BHA.

Moisturizers -Caudalie - Revitalizing Moisture Grape Seed Cream/Mask

I bought this after I tried the Eye Contour cream with success. Unfortunately, instead of soothing and calming, this irritated me, also I felt the hydrating/moisturizing effect wasn't good enough.

Cleansers -Obagi - C-Cleansing Gel
rated 3 of 5
TRKK 10/11/2006 1:02:00 AM

I bought this because I've been having such success with Vit C and wanted a C cleanser. It's a gel that you massage onto wet skin and when you rinse off, it starts foaming. It does leave my skin with a glow and a little more even toned, however it's a little drying for me, and left my skin feeling a little tight the next morning. Think this may be best for oilier skins. My main gripe with Obagi C products is the fragrance, which isn't nice to begin with and actually is unecessary. Overall though, I like the formulation of the Obagi C products (the ingredients are non-irritating for my hyper sensitive skin, and no cones)- I'm using the newly forumulated Professional C serum. I'll just have to look for a more emollient C cleanser, but I do have the La Vitton oil on the way. INGREDIENTS : Purified water, sodium lauroyl oat amino acids, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium laureth sulfate, L-asorbic acid (Vitamin C), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, medicago sativa alfalfa) extract, borago officinalis (borage) extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, sodium chloride, saponins, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben, glycerin, fragrance, Yellow 5, Red 33.

This irritated the heck out of me, and was pretty greasy-looking. I also didn't like the unsanitary tub packaging.

Masks -Zia - Acne Mask
rated 2 of 5
TRKK 10/8/2006 8:29:00 AM

So I got kinda carried away ordering Zia products after I found my HG the Ultimate Exfoliant. This mask is pretty redundant to me, especially since Queen Helene's Mint Julep is so cheap. The only thing I like about this was the cooling effect that you feel when you first apply it, other than that, it didn't reduce redness, prevent or shrink blemishes the way the Queen Helene does. I bought this hoping the sulfur might do more than the Queen Helene, but it doesn't.

Treatments (Eye) -Caudalie - Grape-Seed Eye Contour Cream
rated 3 of 5
TRKK 10/7/2006 1:36:00 AM

After trying practically a whole department store-worth of eye creams, finally thanks to MUA, I found this one that does not irritate at all. After some trial and error, I realised it was the Retinyl Palmitate that's in most eye creams that irritate my cheeks. I'd previously been using Dr Haushcka'a Revitalizing Day eye cream, but realised it was not enough hydration. This eye cream is a slight step up in terms of hydration, but for someone as sensitive as me, no irritation is a very important factor. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything for fine lines or dark circles, but keeps the eye area nicely moisturized without puffiness (another thing I'm very prone to from eye creams). I might try layering the Zia Ultimate Eye Cream on top of this for fine lines (the Zia on it's own irritated me) Highly recommended for sensitives and dermatitis prones. UPDATE : Still loving this and after wearing it under eye makeup, I realised I got myself a winner - about 90% of eye creams cause my eye makeup to smudge (I have very oily lids), or does not hydrate enough. This moisturizes better than my previous eye cream yet does not make my eye makeup smudge HG (at least until I find something richer that doesn't irritate)!
