Skincare - Face -Dr. Denese - Exfoliating Facial Firming Pads
rated 3 of 5
JudgeJudy41 3/6/2007 9:36:00 AM

I'm one of the minority that dislikes these pads. The formula in the pads felt sticky to my skin. I did follow the instructions, but my face became irritated and slightly red. This made me discontinue using them after one week. I'm sure there are more affordable and less expensive products on the market. Something that will work without the irritation. Will continue to read other reviews to find my HG. UPDATE: I decided to give these another try. I'm currently using the new Advanced Firming Facial pads w/Actizone. These seem less irritating to my face. I have discovered that one facial pad ( weekly ) is enough. Also, I rinse my face after leaving the formula on for about 20-25 min. The new Dr.Denese pads still have that sticky feel. I'm still not 100% sold on this product so, I'll only give it an average rating.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Frownies
rated 3 of 5
JudgeJudy41 2/25/2007 9:41:00 AM

I swapped out one of my products for a box of unused Frownies. These were the ones for crows feet and nose to mouth. Unfortunately, I found these too time consuming and used for two weeks. This is a ritual that requires consistency to see any results. There are about 110 Frownies left in the box! I started drinking seven to eight 8oz liquids a day and the crows feet have practically disappeared! There is something to drinking lots of water and good skin!

Blush -Laura Mercier - Blushing Tint
rated 5 of 5

This is an exceptional face tint! The color is not too overpowering, unless with a heavy hand. Go gently and expect a nice rosy glow. This is great to use alone or with sunscreen for a no makeup day. Definitely my blush for days of routine walking outdoors or running errands. For the price this blush will last a long time. My E.A. blush in pink coral is for a more glamour look.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - TimeWise 3-in-1 cleanser N/D
rated 2 of 5
JudgeJudy41 1/1/2007 11:14:00 AM

I made a swap with two really sweet MUA members for this cleanser. It is a super nice cleanser for the cold, dry winter months. Since the start of winter, I've seen a big improvement in my skin. Great product for those with sensitive, dry skin. I alternate the Mary Kay and use the Aveeno foaming cleanser for the warmer months. I just wished the Mary Kay 3-in-1 cleanser fit my budget. I have to learn to use it sparingly. UPDATE: I recently found a really good cleanser, by Skin Effects sold thru CVS. My new HG foaming cleanser doesn't dry or strip my skin of much needed moisture. I discovered, Mary Kay's is a good basic cleanser, but contains mineral oil. :-( Skin Effects can be used winter or summer, and fits my budget!

Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
JudgeJudy41 1/1/2007 10:56:00 AM

This cleanser is good for my skin in the summer. It may be too drying for the winter months. The reason for the average rating. My favorite winter face cleansers are the creamy types. For a foaming cleanser it does a fair job of removing sticky sweat, makeup, sunscreen and traces of oil. I'll continue my search for a good basic fash wash. UPDATE: I have started to use a new face cleanser, by Jeffrey Dover, Skin Effects sold at CVS. Doesn't dry, like with the Aveeno - review above. Skin Effects bottle reads: Lifts away makeup, impurities and dead skin cells without irritation. Moisturizes and hydrates for brighter, smoother skin. Formulated to be fragrance free, detergent free, paraben free, and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Good enough for me!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Moonlight Path EDT
rated 5 of 5

I have this in the Moonlight Path room scented fragrance bulb and loved it. I went back and purchased the perfume spray & love it equally. It reminds me of fresh laundry. I LOVE the smell of fresh laundry. Its not too overpowering and has a lovely clean scent! Little spritz on clothes and sheets goes along way!

Fragrances -Avon - Today
rated 5 of 5
JudgeJudy41 12/21/2006 8:04:00 PM

Update: My original review was about the Today lotion. I hadn't bought the perfume, but loved the samples the Avon rep gave me. The samples were the reason for purchasing the lotion. Wasn't willing to invest in another perfume that may not work with my chemistry. After using the lotion for a few months, I finally caved and bought the full size bottle of this perfume. The perfume seems to be working well! Both are definite keepers!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Honey
rated 5 of 5
JudgeJudy41 12/19/2006 8:19:00 PM

I do alot of research on Makeup Alley and other websites. I found a natural face scrub that uses honey and brown sugar. You mix 1 part honey with 2 parts brown sugar. The brown sugar has to dissolve some and then you have a face scrub. Brown sugar exfoliates and the honey moisturizes. My face feels so soft to the touch. I have used the honey alone and wait five-ten minutes before rinsing.

Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure
rated 1 of 5
JudgeJudy41 12/19/2006 8:09:00 PM

Jojoba is everything and more! You can't beat the price and quality of this oil. This makes my hair so soft and shiny. I add 2 tsp to my shampoo and no longer need a hair conditioner. It literally makes my skin glow!!! I will no longer consider store moisturizers. Update: I have to change my review about the jojoba oil. It did something really weird to my face. My eyelids started to sag, and so did my lower jaw area. Believe it or not, my face was sagging. It wasn't a major difference, but enough to certainly notice. Maybe it was conditioning my face, too well. When discontinuing, my face went back to normal. It had to be the jojoba oil,my beauty routine ( eight months ago ) was pretty much the same. Strange.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - PROVOCATIVE WOMAN
rated 3 of 5
JudgeJudy41 12/3/2006 9:48:00 AM

My mom bought over 50.00 of E.A. products & was given two E.A. promotional beauty kits. She gave me both of the GWP Provocative mini sprays. I thought this fragrance smelled a little too strong on me. I have smelled this on others and loved it. If anyone is interested, I still have one of the mini sprays on my swap list.

Skincare - Face -Mary Kay - TimeWise Even Complexion Essence
rated 1 of 5
JudgeJudy41 11/30/2006 12:17:00 PM

Well, I hate to be the first to give a negative rating. I had purchased two of the M.K. Even Complexion Essence on Ebay for $22.00 ( that was a great buy ). After 3 weeks, I didn't notice any difference in my skin tone. I have several age spots & it didn't lighten any of them. I applied this once in the morning and night. It left a slight sticky feel to my face. After applying in the morning, my liquid foundation would ball up on my face. To my disappointment, I was hoping it would help. Mary Kay has several nice products. Unfortunately this product didn't work for me.
