Lip Gloss -Smashbox - DIVA
ziebam 1/18/2006 6:00:00 PM
Diva is a very sheer pale golden peach frost shade. Its quite light and frosty but you still see a hint of peach. Great for a nude lip or over a darker lippie to tone it down. Part of a kit but would retail for $14 on its own. The gloss has no scent, and is medium stickiness so it will last a couple hours or through a light meal. Comes in a clear tube with black cap with a wand applicator. Pretty shade.

Lipstick -Smashbox - Shade
ziebam 1/18/2006 5:58:00 PM
Shade is a pretty sheer browned red shade. It does appear in the tube to be slightly more rosy, but when i apply this it has a definite warmer tone to it and i dont see alot of pink at all. Formula has no scent, moisturizing and lasts several hours. Part of a kit but would retail for $16 individually. Comes in a standard black bulitt. Works well with my NC30 light olive complexion. Great neutral sheer red shade.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - smashing zoom
ziebam 1/18/2006 5:54:00 PM
Gorgeous color, Smashing Zoom looks kinda like an olive green with tons of golden shimmer throughout, but you do see a tad more green than olive. Super pretty vibrant fun color. Zoom retails for $16 and comes in a small black pot with twist off lid. Excellent quality, richly pigmented, lasts all day. Stunning shade and a must have for green lovers.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eyelights - Strobe
ziebam 1/18/2006 1:23:00 PM
The Eyelights from Sephora are some of the best products from the line. Super shimmery collection of 3 shadows that can be used dry or wet for more intensity. The shimmery metallic finish is richly pigmented with a lot of color payoff. Strobe is the collection with a champagne highlighter and light blue and a chocolate brown with a hint of taupiness to it. All super shimmery. Quality is fantastic, lasts all day, easy to blend. Retails for $32 and comes in a black compact with mirror and little applicator with a sponge on one end and an angled liner brush on the other. Also has a large mirror. Stunning compact.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Enhance
ziebam 1/18/2006 1:19:00 PM
Enhance is a beautiful raspberry color with gold shimmer. ITs qute sheer and not as deep as it looks in the tube. Very pretty color. Part of a kit but would retail individually for $14. Sticky but not overly so. Will last several hours or through a light meal. Because of the gold in this its not too cool for my NC30 light olive complexion. Great shade.

Lipstick -Smashbox - Demure
ziebam 1/18/2006 1:16:00 PM
Demure appears to be a shimmery bronze color in the tube, but it definately has a rosy hint to it. Very pretty. Also has a slightly metallic look to it with a hint of coppery gold. Very unique complex color. not too sheer or too dark. Retails for $16 and comes in a black bulitt and was released in a kit. No scent and lasts several hours without food. I love this shade on my nc30 skintone.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye Shadow Trio - Head Shot
ziebam 1/18/2006 1:13:00 PM
Smashing Headshot is a great everyday trio. Comes with a shimmery champagne/ecru highlighter, a shimmery medium pink lig shade and a shimmery chocolate brown. The Brown shade is super pigmented and great for the crease and lining. The highlighter has the least pigment but its still plenty. The colors work beautifully together for a great daytime look or evening. Retails for $28 and comes in a large round pot with clear twist off lid.

Blush is excellent quality, lasts all day, nicely pigmented, no breakouts. Comes in a large round pot with clear twist off lid and retails for $24. Great shade.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - smashing daylight
ziebam 1/18/2006 1:05:00 PM
Smashing Daylight is a weird looking combo that actually works together nicely. Daylight is a shimmery medium bright pink and the other is a shimmery medium lime green color. Super springy. You can use the colors together or separately. The duo comes in large round black pot with a clear twist off lid. Retails for $24. The duo is nicely pigmented and nice quality as well.

Eye Shadow -Paula Dorf - eye color glimmer in mambo
ziebam 1/18/2006 10:31:00 AM
I loved this color when i saw it but alas, it doesnt show up the same way in the pan to the lid. Mambo is a black shadow filled with tons of shimmery gold flecks to it. So pretty! It has this almost greenish/khaki cast to it in the pan. However on the lid, the gold doesnt show up so it just looks like a sheer black. I also tried this wet to line and it also doesnt show the gold, just looks like a black liner. Very disappointing. I wish i got the color variety with this. The shadow comes in a large round pot with twist off lid and retails for $16. Pretty but nothing special.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Fusion Eyeshadow (all shades)
ziebam 1/18/2006 10:28:00 AM
This is a review for the eyeshadows. Smashbox originally came out with the first Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Mosaic. This was available individually and has five shades. A yellow, a light lilac, a deep burgandy, a dark forest green and a light lime green, all with slight shimmer. The quality is horrible. The shades dont work well together, the shadows arent pigmented at all, fade quickly, in a word, HORRIBLE. The stripes of color are also very narrow and hard to fit a brush head into exactly one color. Next QVC.com came out with the Reel to Real kit. The original kit is also available at Sephora. This kit contained the Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Sequence. This is a warm/nude brown set with a off white, a pink peach, a mauvey pink, a copper brown and a darker brown, all with shimmer. The quality of the kits are a little better, a little more pigment but still hard to work within the narrow stripes of color. The colors are very sheer and dont really layer so expect a very natural look. The next QVC autodelivery kit of Reel to Real contains Fusion Eyeshadow in Smashing Mesh. Mesh consists of a light pink, a light taupe, a light grey, a deep burgandy, and a darker grey, all with shimmer. Once again the quality is slightly better than the original. A little more pigment but still hard to work with. QVC will come out with two more autodelivery shipments with two more fusion eyeshadows, which i will add to this review when they come out. The original Fusion in Mosaic retailed for $28 and is a big waste of money. The kits depend on what else you want from the kit. The fusion shadow is different than the fusion intermix face powder and also different from Smashbox's newest bronzer releases, dawn and dusk.

Makeup Brushes -Smashbox - Face and Body Brush #19
ziebam 1/18/2006 10:17:00 AM
OH, why did smashbox have to make this brush! This is smashbox's latest addition to its brush collection. #19 is a face and body brush that is said to be used to apply powder, bronzer or highlighter powder to face and decollete. Retails for $52 and is part of the 2004 fall collection. The brush is simply gorgeous. Red handle, weighty quality feel to it, super soft bristles, top quality well worth the price brush. So you are wondering how this compares to other types of Kabuki's. Well the hair is shorter than you standard kabuki brush, so you get a heavier application but not too much. I prefer the long handle v. the short of the kabuki. As far as the NARS bronzer brush, its almost identical. the width of the handles is the same. The handle of the smashbox is just maybe a quarter of an inch longer. The main difference lies in the bristles. THe smashbox bristles are almost half an inch longer making the smashbox brush much fluffier and not as dense. If you already own the nars, you probably dont need the smashbox. But if i had a choice of one, i prefer the smashbox. Since the bristles are longer and not as tight, you get a lighter application. I find that the NARS really deposits alot of color. I feel like the NARS is closer to my PD baby cheek brush and the Smashbox is closer to a real kabuki. Fabulous brush and I absolutely love it. Although the price is high!

Smashing Boutiue is a shimmery coppery deep peach shade. ITs not too dark, but dark enough for the crease for daytime or on the lid. The quality is nicelyl pigmented and applies smoothly. Comes packaged in a single shadow pot with twist off top. Retails for $16. Very pretty color.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - velvet Rope Duo
ziebam 1/16/2006 4:41:00 PM
I also got this in the Nordstrom Anniversary kit 2005. I cant remember what else came in the kit besides a lipgloss in Magnify, but when i saw the shadow duo, I had to have it. This is a mini duo, the same size as a Smashbox single shadow. One side is a shimmery pink and the other side is a shimmery brown with taupey golden undertones. The brown shade is really pretty but the pink side is really sheer. It does resemble orgasm blush but without the pigment. Its still pretty, just doesnt look the same way in the pan on the lid. I probably wouldnt repurchase because of that.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy - Cherry Apple
ziebam 1/16/2006 4:34:00 PM
The new color surge glosses released spring 2005 are great. THese are high shine lipglosses with no scent and alot of pigment and not that sticky. Comes in a slant tip squeeze tube and has a great selection of colors with a lot of product in there. The only down side is that these dont last too long. I guess cause these arent too sticky that they just dont last. Did not make it through a light snack, a couple hours tops. But the colors are beautiful. Cherrry Apple is a wet looking sheer red with pink undertones. Because of the pinkish undertones to it, this kinda turns pink of me and just a little too cool for my NC30 light olive complexion. If i wear a mahoghany colored liner, it does look like a more true red. I love how its so sheer and glossy but NARS Scandal is my favorite red. Retails for $14.50. Great product and i can get away with this color, but there are better shades for me.
