Moisturizers -Ecco Bella - Age Antidote Day Cream Spf15
rated 3 of 5

This is the second winter that I am using this product on my combination skin. It contains chemical free spf of 15 using titanium dioxide. Also contains antioxidants that are encapsulated with a liposome delivery so that they penetrate the skin better. Has vitamin e, vitamin c, alpha lipoic acid, lutein, beta carotene and other antioxidants. Hyaluronic acid and the skin firming ingredient DMAE are also in this. I can't say that I notice any skin firming or skin improvement with this. I use this as I need something a little more moisturizing in the winter and because it uses titanium dioxide as the sunscreen. It does not break my skin out and gives it that extra bit of moisture I need at certain times. I can also use this around my eye area with no irritation. I paid $31.00 at vitaminshoppe.com for a 2 oz. glass container with a hygenic pump dispenser.

Lip Gloss -Avon - Glazewear Sparkle in Rave
rated 2 of 5
flairgirl8 2/16/2006 12:50:00 PM

This is just not the right gloss for me. I do not care for the strawberry sugar pina coloda fragrance. It goes on a very sheer fairy pink and it is barely there. There are also bits of glitter in various colors in this one. And on me, the blue glitter stood right out with people telling me I had glitter on my lip. Yikes!

Lip Gloss -Avon - Shine Supreme
rated 4 of 5
flairgirl8 2/16/2006 12:35:00 PM

I have this in twig glaze, which is a light warm brown shimmer. I agree with a previous reviewer in that this can be considered a cross between a lipstick and a lipgloss. It is not high shine but more of a medium gloss. Most lip glosses do not last long on me but this one really delivers. It also does not have that awful plastic scent of a lot of lip glosses. The color tint is more like a lipstick than a lip gloss, which I like. Overall, this is a great lip product for work wear and casual wear. An additonal bonus is that it is always on sale. Update: This keeps my lips moisturized. I find that I am always reaching for this in the morning. Update: This is my favorite lip product and I am purchasing more colors of this.

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
rated 4 of 5
flairgirl8 2/14/2006 11:24:00 AM

I have found this to be very useful applied over my sunscreen to soften and give me an airbrushed look. As you don't need a lot, the small pot lasts a long time. After I buff this onto the skin, I give my face a quick spritz of water with a fine mist spray bottle to set it and my skin looks great and natural.

Treatments (Eye) -Reviva - Reviva Dark Circle Under Eye Serum
rated 2 of 5
flairgirl8 2/14/2006 10:02:00 AM

As this contains the skin firming DMAE and the two peptides palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3, I could not wait to try this out. To remove the hemoglobin deposits which cause the under eye discoloration this has chrysin and mulberry root extract. I used this 2X for about 6 weeks and really did not see any difference at all.I don't have severe dark underye circles so it may work better on someone else. Avon's Eye perfector peptide gel is what really works for me to decrease puffiness and firm the eye area.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cellularskinrx Fresh pout lip balm
rated 4 of 5
flairgirl8 2/14/2006 9:42:00 AM

This is one of three products I use to plump and hydrate my lips. I use this balm 2-3X a day and then apply lipstick over it. It took about 3 months before I could really see a difference. My lips are hydrated and looker fuller/plumper. Contains palmitoyl oligopeptide to signal the lips to increase collagen production, glycocermatides and emollients to soften lips. For the vertical lines on my lower lip- which horrified me when I discovered them this year- I use Cellular skin's Relax-a-line ( 10% Acetyl hexapeptide and hyaluronic acid ) let it set in and then apply the fresh lip balm over it. The third item is oral supplements of Hyaluronic acid which really plumped up my lips after a couple months of 2Xdaily use. Even though I still enjoy using temporary lip plumpers like Duwop's lip venom, I want my lips plump and hydrated all the time. Update: I have tried other lip plumpers with palmitoyl oligopeptide such as Isomer's and Juice Beauty, but I always come back to this one. Comes in a 15 ml tube for $21.50

Cleansers -Derma E - Derma e Papaya and Soy Foaming Facial Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/13/2006 9:26:00 AM

I bought this along with Derma e's papaya and soy facial toner. It is free of SLS and parabens. A very mild cleanser for dry or sensitive skin. Contains papaya extract, soy milk, glycerin, panthenol, and herbal extracts. I needed something mild and non-drying as I am using both AHAs and retinol treatments which dry the skin out. This and the matching toner are perfect. They are not harsh and don't leave my skin feeling tight. However, both items have a very strong odor. Will not repurchase because of this.

Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Terra Tints
rated 4 of 5
flairgirl8 2/13/2006 9:22:00 AM

I picked this up on sale for $2.00 at a health store. The tint I purchased is called Sunlit, a sheer golden bronze which looks great on me. Has an spf of 18 and is very moisturizing. In fact, I find I need to apply this less often than other lip balms. Has a mild cool mint tingle. Definitely will repurchase and also try other tints in the line. Update: I now also have this in bloom which is a soft rosy pink with copper shimmers.

Toners -Derma E - Papaya and Soy Milk Refreshing Skin Toner
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/10/2006 10:57:00 AM

Fantastic toner for dry or sensitive skin. It is glycerin-based and alcohol free. Also contains panthenol, soy milk, aloe vera, chamomile and green tea extract. It is just perfect for my combinatin skin which is dry and flaky from using AHAs. It does not dry tacky or leave a film. Has a strong odor.

Lotions/ Creams -Avon - Planet Spa African Shea Butter hand & cuticle creme
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/10/2006 10:55:00 AM

I did not care for the smell of this at all. It smells like burnt caramel to me. As this contains shea butter, I expected it to be a thick, rich creme. It is a light lotion that absorbs in easily and without leaving a greasy residue. I prefer thicker creams for use on my hands and feet at night, like Avon's moisture therapy cream. My DH likes the smell of this is using up the tube on his hands.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Be Delicious
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/2/2006 5:00:00 PM

A great scent for those who like the fruit based fragrances. It has a very solid green apple scent that is light and not terribly long lasting. I also have the matching body powder which is nice light lotion with a fairly long lasting scent on me.

Fragrances -Donna Karan - Cashmere Mist
rated 4 of 5
flairgirl8 2/2/2006 4:58:00 PM

Absolutely gorgeous. It is an exquisite blend that is perfect for any occasion or daily use. I would describe it as a super soft scent that is well blended and I don't really pick up individual scents like I am able to do with most other fragrances. I think that is why I like it so much. It is what it is all the time. It doesn't shift and change on me from top note to base note.

Lotions/ Creams -Pevonia Botanica - Pevonia Botanica Multi-Active Foot Cream
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/2/2006 1:11:00 PM

A nice foot cream that contains AHA and BHA for smooth, soft feet. It also contains glycerin, sunflower seed oil, shea butter, hazel nut oil, tea tree oil, orange and mandarin oil and dimethicone. The tea tree oil gives a very refreshing and deodorizing feel. I found the additon of BHA in a foot cream to be unusual which is what prompted me to buy it. Takes a minute or two for it to absorb in fully. Paraben free. I purchased the 1.7 oz tube at Spa look for $12.00.

Masks -Pevonia Botanica - Pevonia Enzymo-Spherides Peeling Cream
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/1/2006 9:45:00 AM

One of my favorite enzyme peels. Contains papaya and bromelain enzymes encapsulated so they don't start working until you massage it into your skin. Has a fresh pineapple scent. The directions state to apply to skin and work in with wet fingers, leave on 2 minutes and rinse. I now leave it on for 10 minutes 3X a week with no irritation. Because papaya enzyme just removes dead skin, there is no sting like when using AHAs. Just because you don't "feel" it working does not mean that it isn't. My skin is soft and smooth after using this. Comes in a glass 1.7 oz jar for $33.00. It also comes with a plastic scoop so you do not have to dip fingers into jar. Excellent product to remove dry skin flakies without irritating new skin.

Fragrances -Prada - Prada EDT
rated 3 of 5
flairgirl8 2/1/2006 9:38:00 AM

If you like amber based fragrance this is for you. But beware, it has no staying power. Less than an hour on me. It starts out amber with hints of pepper and dries to a soft vanilla amber that reminds me a little bit of Boucheron's Trouble.
