Eye Shadow -Milani - Flare
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/6/2009 3:04:00 PM

For the price, this is an awesome shadow. The consistency was nice and smooth. It applied and blended well with very little fall out. The color payoff was great. I love that this shadow can go from subtle to bold with just one or two extra sweeps of color... again, with very little fall out. It's a great color for fall. The container was also nice. Small, easy to flip open, and pretty secure. If you like copper/bronze/brick shades I think you'll like this shadow. I only deducted 1 lippie because it did make the fine lines in my eyelids stand out a little more than I'd like, but that may be due to my primer.. not sure yet.

Powder -Mary Kay - Timewise Dual coverage powder foundaiton
rated 2 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/6/2009 2:53:00 PM

I was hoping to replace Lancome's dual finish powder foundation with this but... eh. It just doesn't compare. The consistency was nice, and velvety. Dry, the coverage was light, wet, it was medium. I had two major problems with this product. One being it feels very dry on. I can feel it, and I don't like that. It zapped all of the moisture out of my skin when worn alone. Worn over a liquid foundation it was ok, but still felt thick even though I only applied a small about with a brush. My 2nd complaint is it looks chalky. With or without a liquid foundation it looks like I dipped my face in a bowl of chalk. No flattering at all. The packaging wasn't great either. The cover keeps comin off so I can't take it along with me anywhere for touch ups, and it looked cheap. I only give it two lippies for the coverage though. It might work for someone with extremely oily skin, but for a dry/combo skinned girl like me it just doesn't make the cut.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Body Double Mist- Strawberry Fizz
rated 2 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/5/2009 12:27:00 AM

Uhm . Uh. *Stumped* I'm so on the fence with this. I love the packaging. The bottles are awesome. It's a great concept. The smell however... eh.. *cringes* On first spray it smells exactly like a thick sugary sweet double shot daiquiri. It's overwhelming. Give it ten minutes and... well... 80's babies. Do you recall the sweet strawberry scent they used on the Strawberry Shortcake dolls back in the mid 80's? That's exactly what this smells like dried down. Spot on... 1980's Strawberry Shortcake dolls. That part I love. It's a smell you never forget. Generic strawberries and plastic. Haha. I might spray my old dolls down with this for fun, but... not myself. Definitely not myself.

Liquid -Avon - Perfect Wear All Day Comfort Liquid Foundation
rated 5 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/4/2009 10:04:00 PM

Wow... Wow..... WOW. Amazing foundation, with an unbelievable price tag. I have been an Estee Lauder Double Wear fan for years. I never thought I'd find another foundation of that quality at a cheaper price but Avon has proven me wrong. This foundation is awesome. I actually like it more than ELDW for two reasons. 1- The smell. ELDW has a funky smell. This didn't. & 2- The packaging. This is so much easier to use and with the easy squeeze bottle I anticipate wasting less of the product. The consistency was nice, and it was easy to blend. The drying time was perfect.. long enough to blend but still fairly quick. The "nude" shade matched me perfectly unlike the ELDW shades I had to mix to match my tone. I applied this foundation with a MAC 187 brush and one coat was enough to cover all of my blemishes and redness without a concealer. The finish was nice, smooth, and matte. I doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a mask. I anticipate it being a little drying when used long term, but that's to be expected with products like this. Nothing a lightweight moisturizer can't fix. I would highly recommend this to any person with acne prone skin, or someone with a lot of blemishes who is looking for a full coverage matte foundation. This stuff is just awesome. *Gushes* I *think* I may have found my HG here. I added a pic to the reviews above...Sorry, I'm not brave enough to show you the before shot, but as you'll see my complexion appears flawless...Trust me. If you like ELDW this is an incredible alternative.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss - Cherry Bomb
rated 2 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/4/2009 9:47:00 PM

This is my first Victoria's Secret lip gloss and my first reaction was.. "Eghhh, goopy!" and not in a super shiny, super thick, slick Mac kinda way. More like a greasy " I just ate a bucket of Colonel Sanders" kind of way. I have to admit however, it does look pretty darn good on.There's hardly any color, or glitter that comes out but it has a nice high gloss shine I can appreciate. The smell, is, eh, okay. Better than generic brands in general but a little too artificial for my tastes. The taste is mild, so I could take it or leave it. It's decent. Nothing to get excited over though... for me at least. At least the tube is cute.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nail Magic
rated 1 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/2/2009 10:21:00 PM

This stuff did nothing for me. My cousin gave me a bottle to try after I had artificial nails removed because she said it saved her thin, flaking nails but it did nothing for me. It took forever to dry. I'll stick to Sally Hansen.

Lip Gloss -Mary Kay - Tiger Lily
rated 5 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/2/2009 1:07:00 PM

What's with all the neg reviews?! I love this stuff! Then again, I have fair skin and dark hair so I can wear just about anything. This however is my favorite orangey gloss. Contrary to the color of the gloss itself, this looks very peachy/gold on me. It has just enough sparkle, it's smooth, long lasting, and doesn't dry out my lips. A++ in my book.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Metallic Canyon Shimmers Quad
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/2/2009 1:00:00 PM

Wow, no one has reviewed this in forever! Uh oh. Maybe they discontinued it. *frown*. I love this shadow. The colors are not exactly metallic, but have a light shimmer to them. The shades are ivory, champagne, taupe, and stone. I use these at least once a week to create a very subtle smokey eye, and I use the ivory shade as a highlighter almost everyday. It's awesome. It's the only eyeshadow I've ever used right down to the last bit in the pan. I haven't found a new highlighting color yet. *sigh* Maybe I'll find this on ebay super cheap...Worth trying if you find it somewhere! Especially if you like a "no make up" makeup look. :P

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Foxy #808
rated 5 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/2/2009 12:51:00 PM

This is my favorite HiP product so far. I use this shadow more than any other in entire collection. I'm wearing it today in fact. This duo is a pearly light brown/pink and a matte med/dark brown color. The pink side is pretty much a nude shade for my ivory skin. The brown shade is very very pigmented, and an awesome contouring color. A little goes a long way. It lasts forever, it doesn't crease, and it's easy to blend. I also love the little mirror on the underside of the compact. Great for touch ups.

Moisturizers -Mary Kay - Velocity Lightweight Moisturizer
rated 3 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/1/2009 10:43:00 AM

I agree with the reviewer before me when she said this is a great spring and summer moisturizer. It is. In winter I find I need something a little more heavy duty, but for summer I love that this product is oil free and stands up to the heat. This product is great for someone with mild acne. What I love about this moisturizer is it doesn't make my skin feel oily or irritate my skin. Most lotions break me out. Another thing I love is it seems to work well with all my foundations. It doesn't break them down, or discolor them. It's lightweight so once it's on you don't feel it at all. And it takes so little of the product that the tube lasts forever! I've had mine for a year now and I'm not even halfway through the tube.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Velocity Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/1/2009 10:37:00 AM

I've been using this in combination with the Velocity face moisturizer for about a year. My roommates sister bought it, but she had an allergic reaction to it (like she does everything else), and gave it to me. It wasn't something I'd normally purchase, but I quite like it actually. It doesn't dry out my skin. It doesn't leave a film on my skin. I can't say that it really does anything for me as far as exfoliation goes, but it's a decent face wash. It did help clear up some zits for me, so it would probably be great for a teen with mild acne, who doesn't have dry skin.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 3/1/2009 10:29:00 AM

I have been using this foundation for 3 or 4 years solid, with brief relapses back to liquid foundation. Right now, I'm back on the fence with this product...I'll continue to use this till I find my HG liquid. PROS: 1. Does not break me out. It actually clears up my skin. 2. It's so easy to apply when you find the right brush. I can be done with my makeup in 3 mins if I'm in a rush. 3. Fairly Light matches my skin perfectly. 4. It looks very natural. It never looks caked on. I LOVE that about this product. 5. It doesn't dry out my skin like other mineral or oil free foundations. CONS: 1. When used daily I go through 1 full size tub of this a month- that's a lot of money over 1 yr!. 2. I have combination skin, and my oily areas seem to soak up this foundation and although I won't look it, my face will start to feel greasy. 3. I need a Med/Full coverage foundation. The foundation alone won't cover my imperfections. 4. Sometimes the lids on the containers are defective and won't stay on so you get product everywhere. If you do decide to try this foundation, I highly recommend picking out your own buki brush and not just using the one they send in the kit. This product works best with a short/stubby medium size kabuki brush that's very full with soft bristles. I got mine on e-bay for $0.99.

Styling Products -SAMY - Silk Anti Frizz Smoothing Serum
rated 1 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 2/21/2009 11:52:00 PM

I ended up with a bottle of this because my ex roomie left it behind when she moved out. Probably on purpose. This serum did NOTHING for me. Absolutely nothing. It added no shine. It didn't control frizz. It didn't even make my hair soft. I have curly hair, used half the freakin bottle in my hair and I STILL looked like I stuck my finger in a electrical socket. I would never buy this stuff.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Thermal Creations Straightening Gel [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 2/21/2009 11:45:00 PM

After reading some of the more positive reviews for this product I decided to pick it up along with the heat tamer spray and I love it. It smells great, and makes my hair really soft. It's awesome at taming frizz. I have thick dark brown hair that's permed and I love this gel whether I'm going curly or straight. If I'm straightening I'll rub some through my hair before blow drying, but if I'm going curly all I do work a quarter size amount through my hair and let it dry naturally and it looks awesome. I still have tons of body, but the frizz is gone. I love the fact that it doesn't weigh my hair down. Only 2 negatives with the product I see. First, I don't think it would work well for someone with thin or naturally straight hair. I think it would weight it down. Second, someone else complained that it felt like it had lots of silicon in it and it caused them to break out... this is true. You have to be careful not to let it sit against the skin. I went to bed with wet hair one night with this product on and I woke up with bumps behind my ears. Lesson learned. Other than that I love this stuff for curly hair. I've tried everything... Nexxus, Matrix, TiGi, numerous drugstore brands... and nothing compares to this for me.

Eye Shadow -Sally Girl - Glow Green
rated 4 of 5
xxxPikadoodlexxx 2/21/2009 11:34:00 PM

I love this shadow! The pigment is so rich, and the color is so bright! It just POPS! I wore this quite a few times over the summer... usually blended with an electric blue or yellow. I got tons of compliments on this shadow. The only negative thing I can say is it wasn't pressed into the pan too well because it recently ended up all over my make up bag and I never dropped it or anything. I'd still buy it again though.
