Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Sassy
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 2/10/2006 9:57:00 PM

I have just been loving the new HIP e/s duos! Like the other reviews have mentioned, the packaging of these shadows is rather bulky, and that's one of the reasons why I took off a lipstick. These shadows also aren't as silky as Milani. Other than that, I really like these duos!

Sassy was the first HIP duo that caught my eye, and I knew I had to have it. It contains a medium silvery taupe and a blackened teal shade. The taupe was what called to me, and I didn't have anything like the teal shade, so I figured why not. The taupe shade is my favorite. I love to wear it on the lid with black liner, curled lashes, and mascara. Minimalist yet sexy! I haven't really figured out what to do with the teal shade yet - I imagine it would make a great smokey eye or liner, but I really can't imagine wearing it with the taupe shade as it seems it would get muddy.

Because the taupe shade is not unique, and I'm not sure what to do with the teal, I said I would not repurchase this duo. I have plenty of similar taupe shades, and I'm sure I'll never use up the teal one. However, if you don't have similar shades, I'd highly recommend these!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Foxy #808
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 2/9/2006 9:17:00 PM

I have just been loving the new HIP e/s duos, and though this duo didn't catch my eye at first, I thought I'd give it a go anyways. Like the other reviews have mentioned, the packaging of these shadows is rather bulky, and that's one of the reasons why I took off a lipstick. These shadows also aren't as silky as Milani. Other than that, I really like these duos!

Foxy is a combination of a neutral dusty light rose and a matte neutral dark brown. It seems rather boring in the pot, but I really like it on my eyes! I especially liked the rose shade because it actually works for me. Most rosy shades just tend to make me look like I have pink eye or bad allergies, so this was a pleasant suprise. I've only worn this once so far, but I can tell this is going to be a staple in my collection. It works for a quick but polished look, and being that I value my sleep over makeup time during the week, this is a really convenient duo!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Concentrated Duo - Spirited
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 1/28/2006 9:20:00 PM

When I first saw the HIP line in the store, the Spirited duo really called to me. I thought this was odd because I just do not wear blues. Most blues tend to either accentuate my dark circles or just make me look tired and sick. I was pretty skeptical about this duo, but I figured it was too pretty not to get. I've let it lay around for a couple of weeks, and I finally decided to try it today. It's not something I'd usually wear or will even probably wear often, but WOW!! :D This looks hot if I say so myself! I applied the lighter blue shade (reminiscent of MAC Tilt) wet on the inner half of the lid, and the darker blue shade wet on the outer half of the lid. I highlighted with a shimmery cream shade, then lined all around my eyes with black liner. Curled lashes and black mascara finished the look! I think I will definitely use this look for going out sometime. :)

The reasons I took off a lippie is simple. 1) I wasn't overly impressed with the pigmentation of this duo. I had to use them wet to get them to appear as they do in the pan. 2) I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging. To me, it's bulky and just takes up extra room in my makeup organizer.

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not going to wear this all the time. The colors are pretty and seem to wear well, so I'm not going to take off a lippie based on my color preferences. However, I did say that I would not repurchase. I will never use this up! I still may replace this duo with MAC Tilt and Deep Truth or Contrast as I mentioned the pigmentation isn't up to snuff, IMO. I do think this is a good duo though!

Mascara -Revlon - Fabulash
rated 3 of 5
FiestyFemme 1/27/2006 4:54:00 PM

I had to try Fabulash even though I'd read some pretty awful reviews about it on here. I got it on sale for $5 at CVS, so I figured I didn't have much to lose if it didn't work out. I must admit I was super freaked out when I opened the tube and saw that crazy brush! With bristles all spread out like that, I just knew I was going to end up with like 3 lashes on each eye, LOL!! I was pleasently suprised, however, when I ended up with lush, full, long lashes after using Fabulash. They really looked like falsies for awhile, but then for some reason it stopped working as well, which is one of the reasons why I took off a lipstick. I also took off a lipstick because after awhile, it definitely started to clump. I just tossed it a couple of days ago, and it didn't even make it to the 2 month mark. For me, that's just not acceptable. The other thing I really disliked about it was that it tended to smudge - this was easily fixed with a smidge of powder right up close to my lower lashline, but if I forgot, I'd end up with smudgies. All that said, Fabulash is a decent mascara. It's more lengthening and seperates lashes well. I sometimes think it's just more trouble than it's worth though, so I will not repurchase.

Lip Liners -L'Oreal - Rouge Pulp Anti-Feathering Liner- The Sexy Beiges
rated 5 of 5
FiestyFemme 8/20/2005 11:19:00 PM

I bought this at 75% off at CVS, so I believe I paid $2.25 for mine. I would never in a million years have tried this lipliner had it not been on clearance, as it retailed for $8.99!! *EEEEEK* I am glad I did however, because it is THE perfect nude lipliner! My favorite nude lipliner prior to this was Prestige Oak, but it's much more brown compared to The Sexy Beiges, which IMO, is a peachy beige shade with shimmer. I loved this so much that I went and bought the last 2 of these left at CVS, and I will be sad to see these go!! :(

Lipstick -Milani - Sheer Color-Lite Latte
rated 5 of 5
FiestyFemme 8/20/2005 11:15:00 PM

I generally do not like lipstick, but Milani's Sheer Color lipsticks have impressed me!! They're lightweight with a great vanilla scent. They're not long lasting, but I haven't found any lipstick or gloss that is on me. The only shade I currently own is Lite Latte, and it's a golden caramel color with shimmer - so pretty!! I love that it looks great on it's own, or paired with lipliner and gloss. I'm a neutral girl, and it seems to look good with most everything I wear. I can't believe such a great lipstick costs so little!!

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Shine Delice in Toffee Treat #805
rated 5 of 5
FiestyFemme 8/20/2005 11:10:00 PM

What a shame that L'oreal decided to discontinue the Shine Delice line of lipsticks!! :( I found them to be wonderful - I loved the shine, scent, and most of all, the colors!! Quite a few of them worked well for me, but none of them came close to my beloved Toffee Treat. Toffee Treat is a shimmery nudey pink shade, and it makes my mouth look so full and lucious. It's not long lasting on me, but I don't mind because I love the formula so much!! It's lightweight too, which is essential for me since I don't like lipsticks. L'oreal really shouldn't have discontinued this line, as I don't know anyone who's happy about it!!

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer in Nude Beach
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 5/5/2005 9:00:00 PM

Nude Beach is a gorgeous silvery nude shade - not really what I was expecting, but a great shade nonetheless. I love it as a lid shade paired with black liner and mascara. It really seems to brighten my eyes, and it's perfect for me since I like simple makeup for school days. I think it's going to take me forever to use up my sample, but when I do, I plan to repurchase.

Eyeliner -MAC - Teddy eye kohl
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/22/2005 8:38:00 PM

For the most part, I'm strictly a black eyeliner only girl. However, Teddy caught my eye at the MAC counter, and I thought it'd make a good eyeliner for summer. I wasn't sure how much I'd wear it, but it was so pretty that I just had to own it. Honestly, I haven't worn it that much, but it is one of the most gorgeous eyeliners I own. It's deep enough to not make me feel self-conscience without black eyeliner, but it's still bronze. I'll repurchase!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Honesty Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/22/2005 8:35:00 PM

I bought Honesty a couple of summers ago along with Teddy Eye Kohl because I thought they'd make a fantastic eye for summer - I was right! It's one of the prettiest combos for a natural eye with a little oomph. I do have to layer it a bit for it show up like I want, but that's only when I use it dry. Used wet, it's much more pigmented. I'd repurchase if I ever ran out.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
rated 5 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/21/2005 9:29:00 PM

Stila Kitten is one of my favorite e/s - it brightens my face like nothing else! I love it paired with a pop of color on the cheeks and MLBB gloss, but it also looks good when paired with Stila Twig for a more complicated eye look. I will definitely be repurchasing - no doubt about it!

Foundations -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Clean Tint
rated 3 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/21/2005 9:26:00 PM

First of all, I love the packaging on the new Neutrogena Skin Clearing Clean Tint. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it's very similar to the packaging of Px Traceless. I love squeeze tubes because they're easier to use and more hygienic than foundations in bottles.

Things I do like about it: matches my skin well, has light coverage and good oil control.

Things I don't like about it: the smell, and I haven't worn it long enough to know if it breaks me out - though my pores seem more clogged.

The smell and the price are why I'm only giving this a three, even though I do like it. The smell is horrendous - it's this florally chemical smell that just turns my stomach, especially first thing in the morning. I've found it dissipates quickly, but it makes application unpleasant. The price is steep for drugstore - you get 1oz. for $12.

As of right now, I probably will not repurchase as I like SK Hydro Tint much more!

Eyeliner -Jordana - Color XTend Eyeliner in Black Out
rated 5 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/20/2005 9:12:00 PM

Jordana Color XTend eyeliners seem to be exclusive to Walgreens around here, and you can't beat the 2/$5 price tag. These are kohl pencils that do require you to sharpen them - if that's a problem for you, just know that the pigmentation and lasting power is well worth the effort! (Not to mention these are super easy to sharpen!)

Blackout is a black shade, but I'm sure that is easily gathered from the name. It's a very deep, dark black, which is how I like my eyeliner. The darker, the better! It lasts all day long on me, and because these are so pigmented, one pencil will last ages. I've been using these for a year and a half, I think, and I've gone through one, and I'm working on my second one. I would definitely consider this a HG - I find myself reaching for this liner much more than my MAC Kohls, Fluidlines, or Stila Smudgepots. It's my fave everyday eyeliner!

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Colour Fresco in Iced Spice
rated 4 of 5
FiestyFemme 4/20/2005 9:07:00 PM

L'oreal Color Frescos are cream to powder e/s in a gold twist up tube. They wear really well for cream to powder e/s - I can go about 8 hours before creasing and fading without a base.

The color I'm reviewing is Icy Spice. It's a warm pale golden peach and makes a terrific lid shade. I wore it for ages paired with a brown in the crease (Maybelline Head To Taupe) and then JANE Radiation in Sparked over the Maybelline e/s. It looks good like that, as well as just a wash with black eyeliner and mascara. I'm on my second one, which is unheard of for me. I wouldn't necessarily call this a HG, but it sure is pretty. :)

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-Color powder shadow Trio for Browns
rated 3 of 5
FiestyFemme 3/12/2005 7:05:00 PM

I really liked the idea of these new trios. I must admit, the idea of 3 shades in one compact that would enhance my eye color was appealing to me. The packaging looks nice - a pearlish compact with 3 eyeshadows and an applicator. The shades are a shimmery cream, bronze, and light lilac. That's where my love affair with this trio ended.

After wearing this trio a couple of times, I can definitely say it's not for me! My first real problem is with the lilac shade - it's pigmented, but when I apply my crease color, the lilac becomes non-existent. What's up with that? So then I have to apply more of the lilac shadow for it to even show up. My next beef with these shadows are that they don't last. I've been wearing these for around 7 hours now with a good base, and I've already touched up once. It happened the same way the last time I wore these too. I think this happens because they're really powdery - the old Revlon Wet/Dry Quads had the same texture, and I had the same problem with them. Last but not least, the cool-toned lavendar and warm-toned bronze just are not the most flattering combo for me. They make my eyes look tired and weak.

That said, into the giveaway bag this trio goes. I think it's just a hit or miss really - I have the trio for Hazel Eyes that I really like. I definitely would not repurchase this trio, but I don't think I really had to tell you that.
