Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Neroli
NarnianLady 5/7/2013 5:37:00 PM
I so much wanted to love this. Neroli - yes, please! But the musk is just way too overwhelming and makes the whole thing heavy and suffocating. The packaging is great, and with a coupon code, the price can be very low. Apart from that, there is not much good to say about this. Sorry, Yves Rocher, not a match.

Fragrances -Houbigant - Quelques Fleurs

Yes, this is *the* Flower Bomb. Comfort food for the olfactory system. I find this perfect to wear to bed - it's so relaxing and warm. like a quality pajama lol. Another perfume that succeeds in giving similar flower sensation: Annick Goutal Songes. Although a unique creation on its own, it has the same mystical flower power. Love them both especially in the winter.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Sunflowers
NarnianLady 8/16/2011 2:13:00 AM
Hmmm. If Red Door is labeled as an 'old lady scent', this is a 'young girlie' scent... Doesn't mean that only schoolgals should wear this, fragrance is a always an individual matter and has to do with your chemistry and persona. This is a feel good fragrance: Uplifting and perky for sure, and gives you the needed boost for the day if you're feeling low in spirits. A burst of sunshine..! Love the body lotion as well. Very reasonable priced and a safe choice in many occasions, but as always, less is more.

Gels/Soaps -Nubian Heritage - Indian Hemp and Haitian Vetiver Soap with Neem Oil
NarnianLady 7/23/2011 6:17:00 AM
Another fresh green smelling soap from the NH line. Similar to the Lemongrass one. Again, nice scent and foam, but the little pieces are a nuisance. Would repurchase and use as a hand soap. Got this reasonably priced at iHerb.

Deodorants -Yves Rocher - Jardins du Monde - Roll-on Antiperspirant
NarnianLady 7/22/2011 4:13:00 PM
I have had this in several scents, including Laotian Lotus (a tad too sweety floral), Aloe Vera (fresh and pleasant) and now the new (re-emerged) Lavender. By far this deodorant has proven to be the most gentle and reliable option in this price range. Compared to the drugstore / dept store brands, this is both inexpensive and effective. Will keep on re-purchasing in the future.

Lotions/ Creams -Yves Rocher - Les plaisirs Nature AOC Olive Oil Silky Body Lotion
NarnianLady 7/22/2011 4:07:00 PM
An OK lotion, surprisingly good as far as the ingredients list goes. It's a bit too moisturizing / thick for summertime, but in the cold season my skin abosrbs it all in. The scent is 'meh' - not bad, just different. (I have been busy comparing many olive-scented products on the market, and none of them smell even remotely like olives! LOL) Will not repurchase soon as I'm still half way through the bottle... The size is quite reasonable, a generous 400 ml.

Eye Makeup Remover -Yves Rocher - Express Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes with Cornflower
NarnianLady 7/22/2011 2:37:00 PM
Yes, this is a very decent make up remover, and one of the best YR products - I have been through several bottles already. It does not contain any irritants, but I rated it only 4 because there should be more soothing ingredients in a eye mu remover... Might repurchase again after I am out of my Elizabeth Arden and The Body Shop ones.

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - Thé Vert Eau de Cologne (Green Tea)
NarnianLady 7/22/2011 2:27:00 PM
This is a nice, crisp, singular fresh Green tea note, very similar to Elizabeth Arden's famous namesake and much cheaper.. I bought it years ago in a crazy sale, and still have lots of product left in the bottle. As I keep all my fragrances in their original packages, it is still as new. I would consider purchasing other fragrances in this line (Bamboo perhaps or Chevrefeuille), but most likely won't repeat with this one. It's way too simplistic for me and has no special feeling to it.

Gels/Soaps -Nubian Heritage - Goat's Milk & Chai Soap with Rose Extracts

Lovely warm amber scent that lingers on and around the skin after shower. Non drying and non irritating - but the little black pieces are an unnecessary addition. would repurchase for the yummy scent.

Treatments (Eye) -Shi Kai - Borage Dry Skin Therapy Eye Cream
NarnianLady 6/26/2011 7:32:00 AM
I'm rating this highly because this product has great value for sensitive skin-ned girls like me. Works well as an overall face moisturizer. Truly a fragrance and irritant free product. Would like to see more antioxidants, but that might pose a risk of irritation for someone with a very sensitive skin. I loved this in the winter and slathered it on my facial skin at night ... when all else failed. A bit heavy in the summer, but would repurchase again in the cold season. Worth every cent / penny!

Moisturizers -MD Formulations - Moisture Defense Antioxidant Hydrating Gel
NarnianLady 6/26/2011 5:45:00 AM
A great lightweight serum that's perfect either for summer or winter (when paired with a more creamy moisturizer). I loved the fact that there are no silicones. The runny consistency reminds me of.. hmm, saliva, so that might bother someone lol. I don't mind A great addition to my beauty regimen, thanks MD Formulations!

Gels/Soaps -Yves Rocher - Jardins du Monde - Laotian Lotus Shower Gel
NarnianLady 2/11/2011 8:23:00 AM
. I loved this at the time it came out, but could not use something so flower-y every day. It is too strong for regular use. As all shower gels from YR, this is often on sale, so the price is reasonable. I won't be repurchasing, one bottle was enough. If you are looking for a summery scented shower product that doesn't break the bank, you might want to consider this -the flowery scent is quite prominent, so make sure you like it before buying.

Gels/Soaps -Nubian Heritage - Lemongrass and Tea Tree Soap
NarnianLady 2/6/2011 2:02:00 PM
I give this an overall 3, because there are better soaps in the NH line. The scent is fresh and very invigorating - but the little pieces are completely unnecessary. A bit drying for my eczema prone skin - but that is not surprising in the middle of a winter, when I tend to be on the drier side. Will not re-purchase, but will not think of this unkindly :)

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Rose Bar Soap
NarnianLady 2/2/2011 9:23:00 AM
The scent is rose-y at first, but at least in my case, turned into a plasticky artificial kind of smell towards the end. The cleansing power is effective, yet gentle, as should be the case with any natural bar soap. Quality ingredients, but the smell was too much. No repurchase scenario with this item.

Moisturizers -MD Formulations - Critical Care Calming Gel
NarnianLady 1/19/2011 6:35:00 PM
This is a wonderfully calming and nurturing product for any skin type/condition. I bought it during the warm season, but as the cold temperatures hit my skin, I found this to be a great addition to the winter survival regime. It does a better job calming and soothing my harassed face than any thick cream! Will recommend to anyone battling the winter dryness and eczema. EDIT (March 2011): Sadly the company has made some formulary changes in a perfectly good product - some of the soothing ingredients have been circulated to the end of the list, while the fruit extracts now have a more prominent place. More antioxidant benefits, maybe, but they don't have proven soothing effect. All it means for sensitive skin is that this is not the best option any more. Downgrading to four lippies.
