Treatments -Sally Hansen - Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm
Lara_L 1/4/2013 10:15:00 PM
I really like this product- I have a terrible habit of chewing on my cuticles, but in a matter of days the balm has restored them to their former glory. Highly moisturizing and soothing, I also massage it into my nails to keep them strong and flexible. The only fault I had with this product, and I had to minus a lippie for it, is the colour- while the swirly white-and-green looks cute and retro in the packaging, it has a tendency to make my nail bed look dirty, especially so if it gets under my nails. Otherwise, top marks!
I'm really unsure about this one! It has some really good points, and some really bad ones. I'll start with the good. It has extremely fine scrub particles that left my skin soft and silky for days. But the smell! I have never encountered another skincare product with a smell like it! My sister too one sniff and declared it as smelling like "something you would put in your car", and I have to agree. I bought this product on sale for half price, but I don't know if I'd purchase again at full price.
Lip Treatments -LUSH - It Started with a Kiss Lip Tint
Lara_L 12/30/2011 11:20:00 PM
In this review I'm reviewing It Started with a Kiss, Chilli Tingle and Celebrate, because that's how I wear them- all three at once. The tints are all very buildable and I love mixing them all together. The scent is a divine apple-cinnamon type thing and the texture is smooth. I know some reviewers have said the tints are not very moisturizing but I thought the opposite! Rather, I thought that all three are quite moisturizing and I like that they aren't shiny. And best of all, my Lush had them on sale for half-price each, and I stocked up!!
Previously I've used TBS Mango scrub, and while the scent was just divine, it just wasn't scrubby enough. So today I purchased the Moringa scrub. The scent isn't all that exciting, but the product itself is delightful! It's lovely and creamy with lots and lots of scrub particles. I feel wonderfully smooth and soft! I took off one lipstick because I wasnt too crazy about the scent, but otherwise it's brilliant!
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Mango Whip Body Lotion

I was so impressed with this product! I purchased it because of the mango scent, and at the time I was a little worried that the label says its for very dry skin, but it didn't disapoint. It is very rich but absorbs straight away, without leaving any residue. It's only early days, and I hope it doesn't make me break out, but I'm giving it two thumbs up!
Wow, the scent is just amazing! And not just on me- after my shower, the whole bathroom smells fantastic :) It really smoothes out my skin and makes it lovely and soft. I did take off one star because of the oily residue, but overall, I'm quite happy with this product!
I really love Blonde Glam, and it's probably one of the best shampoos i've ever bought :) I'm forced to be picky about my hair products, because my hair is really dry and my blonde-ness can go quite golden if i don't watch out. Also, my hair is extremely thick and requires straightening, so this means that i need a super-moisturising product that also tones my colour. Blonde Glam is great on all counts, and my hair is now so soft and shiny and my blonde is ashy. I'm so happy and i will definitely repurchase!
I've had a life-long love affair with moisturisers and I'm always on the look-out for more products! I'd heard so much about CdC, but I was still a little shocked at the price- $AUD80 for 500mls!!! For the same amount, a bottle of Palmer's would cost $AUD8, but there is no comparison- CdC is the best thing since sliced bread. I apply it at least once a day, and sometimes twice, and I love how it leaves my skin looking dewy and glowing, even after its been absorbed. The one thing that could improve it is if it had a nice fragrance, like vanilla, maybe. I will DEFINATELY repurchase!
Awesome product! I couldn't believe how well it worked on my nightmare hair: it is now soft, silky and shiny, instead of just dry, dry dry and coarse. The amount that gets dispensed by the pump is just the perfect amount. Also, it smells amazing!
Cleansers -L'Oreal - Visible Results Cleansing Mousse
Lara_L 3/26/2008 5:25:00 PM
It looks like everyone has really liked this cleanser, but it just didn't work for me! The blurb on the packaging made me think it would be just perfect for my dry skin: rich, creamy mousse; anti-aging etc., but from the very first time I used it, it dried my skin out so badly! My face was left feeling squeaky clean, and thats not a good feeling for dry skin. It also made me kind of itchy, so I don't know if maybe my skin was a little too sensitive for it. Anyway, whenever I used it (and I've stopped using it now) I had to apply so much moisturiser afterwards just to get rid of that dry, tight feeling. So it was a real disapointment! Usually you can count on L'Oreal products, but not this one!
Styling Products -KMS California - Flat Out Shine Serum

This just might be the WORST hair product I have ever used! I have NEVER come across a product as bad as this! It sounds great on the packaging, and because I have very thick, dry, coarse hair, I thought it would be just right for me. The first time I used it I applied a small amount between my palms and smoothed it over my hair, but instead of being shiny and soft, my hair became this big, solidified brick, and there was nothing I could do except wash my hair and start over. I was amazed that it would do that- it really felt like my hair could just snap off in sections. And when I tried to use my straight-iron: DISASTER! It really left me feeling drier than before. I'm not bothering to keep this in the cupbord- it goes straight in the bin, and good riddance
I absolutely LOVE this moisturiser!! I purchased it by chance: I am a devoted fan of the mud mask and facial cleanser, but couldn't find the cleanser on its own- they were all packaged into gift boxes. I decided to purchase the gift box anyway (and it was marked down to $AUD15!!!) and it contained the day cream, night cream and cleanser. I started using all three products and my skin has never felt so soft and looked so clear! It didn't cause breakouts and its just perfect for my sensitive skin. The day cream wears beautifully under makeup, with no shine at all. I will definitely keep buying ALL the Yes To Carrots products- its the best range I've ever tried, and every single product is awsome!
Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Megan Gale - Invisible Zinc
Lara_L 1/24/2008 3:57:00 AM
Love, love, love this stuff! The colour is gorgeous and natural and it makes the skin so glowy- perfect for summer. I also think that its improved my skins condition, maybe the zinc in it stops pimples and also makes the skin super soft. The one prob, and I'm not sure if its because my tube of it was left in the cupboard, unused for ages, but the texture is funny, kind of hard. Because its the only one I've ever purchased, I'm not sure if they all are like that, or if mine has just gone a bit dodgy. Anyway, I'm still giving it five lipsticks and I will continue using it for as long as they make it! UPDATE: It looks like the first tube purchased was a bad batch. I have since purchased another tube and the consistency is fantastic: its light and feels like a beautiful TM. Its very easy to blend and the coverage is sheer. So I award it five out of five lipsticks!
Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
Lara_L 1/10/2008 4:19:00 AM
I'm actually kinda undecided on this one: sometimes I look at my skin and the colour looks great, but othertimes it just looks like any other self tan. Except that it costs 3x the price of a any other self tan. Also, I've never used a product that is so messy! It gets residue EVERYWHERE, so even when I apply it right before bed I still manage to get brownish-pink crap all over my bed and pyjamas and anything I touch. And its just so hard to get off my hands after applying, even though I use a really harsh scrub. So I'm not too sure on this one. I received a nice compliment on the colour, but I'm not too convinced, especially considering the MESS and the price ($AUD59.95 for about 200mLs!). I think next time I might try something else.
My hairdresser is always telling me I should purchase Ciment Thermique, but I never really paid much attention. Then one day I walked past a store that sold Kerastase, so I thought I might as well buy some. I used some last night and I was absolutely amazed- it makes my hair feel as good as going to the hairdresser! It is just so soft and silky, with no frizz or puffiness. I will keep using it forever!
