Lip Treatments -Badger - Tangerine Breeze Lip Balm (Tin)
CitrusT 11/10/2012 2:22:00 AM
I am really enjoying this lip balm. I first tried this lip balm years ago, and I hardly ever used it, and eventually threw it away. The consistency was so oily, it looked like I've been eating fried foods, and it had no staying power. Lately I've been running across this balm and decided to give it another shot, mainly because I miss the tangerine smell of the balm. I must say I really like this balm now! The ingrediants in the balm have been slightly changed. The balm is slightly oily when you first apply it to your lips, but seconds later the oily effect dissolves and the balm actually changes textures (if that makes any sense), and it feels like a creamy balm. It has staying power now!!! It's very moisturizing, and will not leave your lips feeling/looking dry once it wears off. I love the scent of the balm (the same as it was before). It is the best orangy citrussy scent I've had in a lip balm. The tin is easy to open. It is an organic oil based lip balm, so you may have to dig in there to get a decent amount on your fingers, but that's usually not a problem after using it for awhile. I will definitely repurchase this. I'm hoping they will put the pink grapefruit flavor in a tin. These balms will last a realy long time. A little goes a long way.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
CitrusT 11/3/2012 5:25:00 AM
As with the grapefruit lip balm, this didn't moisturize my lips- yet it is slightly more moisturizing than the grapefruit. I wouldn't recommend this to those who suffer from dry or chapped lips. The balm doesn't have a high emollient feel to it- it feels waxy on the lips. It could be worn underneath lip gloss, but not alone (for me).

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Pink Grapefruit Refreshing Lip Balm
CitrusT 11/3/2012 5:19:00 AM
This balm didn't do it for me. I have dry and sometimes chapped lips, and this did nothing to moisturize them. It felt like i just had wax sitting on my lips. Maybe this balm is more for those who have normal lips- it's probably not great for those with very dry or chapped lips. I do however love the smell- it is very true to it's smell. I will not purchase this balm again. This balm doesn't do much for my lips, but I think it would be good to wear underneath lip gloss. Too bad, because the scent is perfect.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Buddha Brand - Buddha Balm
CitrusT 11/3/2012 5:11:00 AM
These balms are great. I previously was in love with their balm in the tin, but it was a bit too on the waxy side. These balms, on the other hand are different. It's not too thick and not to thin, and it stays on my lips for hours. It is very moisturizing, and the lips are not dry once the balm wears off. What I love best about these balms is the fact that it contains a natural sun proctectant, and when I wear it, I could hardly see that I have it on, because it's doesn't give the lips that greasy/glossy effect like a lot of balms. I've been looking hard for a lip balm that is barely visible on the lips, while still providing my lips with moisture and a little slip. They also have a sweet taste to them. My favorite is the madarin orange ginger. I think I've found my best sun protecting lip balm.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Vintage Sister Lip Lickers: Strawberry
CitrusT 7/15/2011 5:39:00 PM
Whenever I buy lip products I always opt for strawberry, because it's my favorite flavor/scent. I've already expressed how I love these lip balms in the overall review of these balms, so this review will be about the scent since they all have the same formula. I took a lippie away, because the strawberry scent was not what I was expecting. I guess I was expecting more of a ripe fruity strawberry scent. It has sort of an artificial smell that isn't bad though. It's a sweet scent almost comparable to strawberry bubblelicious gum. It sort of reminds me of a scented candle without the wax smell. It's not the most on point strawberry scented balm out there, but I would still repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm
CitrusT 1/1/2010 3:35:00 AM
The scent of this lip balm reminds me of a lip balm I had during early childhood. I really love the waxy coconut smell of this. It's smooth creamy texture does a fantastic job of moisturizing. I actually don't have to constantly reapply the product, which is perfect for when I'm out and about. I had to take one lippy away, because when I first applied the product, the tip of the lip balm came off. Because of that, I now have to rub it into my lips using my fingers. That defeats the purpose of a stick form lip balm. Luckily, because I really like it, I was able to overlook the defect. I have this in two other flavors as well that I have yet to use. I will be purchasing more of these. They smell so great.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - Strawberry- Tube
CitrusT 12/21/2009 5:01:00 AM
I was glad to see that carmex finally brought the strawberry to the tube. It's perfect for the winter time. I can just reach into my pocket and glide it across my lips(easy access). This lip balm sort of has the original carmex smell with just a hint of strawberry. The strawberry scent is very mild. The texture is thinner than the original one, but still does a good job at keeping my lips smooth. It gives a good tingle ( im not sure if it's the menthol or the spf). The tingle actually helps the blood flow in my lips, enhancing it's natural color. This does a good job at moisturizing, but once I wipe the product from my lips, it tend to be slightly dry underneath. I think that's due to the camphor in the product, or this cold weather I'm in. But I still like this lip balm, although I am addicted to the original formula (i just can't say no to that one). I will difinitely be repurchasing this one along with the original one.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Brambleberry Rose lip balm
CitrusT 12/21/2009 2:41:00 AM
I don't get why a lot of people say this lip balm stink. Mine smell like a rose with berries and petroleum. It smells pretty okay to me. I don't detect the honey smell at all. Maybe those that say theirs stink have a strong honey smell to it. Sometimes lip balms do not smell identical. Maybe I just got lucky with the pleasant fragranced one. Anyway, the texture is slightly thick and pretty much glossy on the lips. I don't like the glossiness of the balm. It has that mineral oil type of feel. It's okay at moisturizing. It does take some effort to get my tin open.. hate that!!! The brambleberry is better than the strawberry balm, which dried out my lips a lot. This balm will last me a long while. The product is an okay balm. I will finish it up, but I will not be repurchasing.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Mentholated Salve
CitrusT 12/15/2009 2:08:00 AM
I purchased this salve for it's multil purpose usage. I only use this on my lips when they're chapped, and I put a little on/under my nose when I have sinus issues. Basically, this smells like vicks vapor rub, but it has a much more pleasant milder smell. It's great at healing chapped lips. I don't feel the menthol at all. The vaseline texture clogs my lips causing bumps that i can only feel with the tongue. I'd be better off sticking to my carmex- at least that gives me a nice tingle, and it does a great job for chapped lips as well. This product did nothing to ease my sinus, but it did keep my nose from getting sore from all the blowing. I have yet to try it on insect bites, but I doubt it'd work due to it's lack of menthol sensation. This salve was hard to find, so I had to purchase it from ebay. I wouldn't use this salve as an everyday lip balm. This tin will last me a very long time. Although this is a good product, I don't think I'll be repurchasing. If you're looking for that nice menthol tingling on the lips, give carmex a try. It's much cheaper too, and well worth it.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin
CitrusT 12/7/2009 3:13:00 AM
I must have gotten lucky with a tin that is easy to open. I'm on a natural lip balm hunt, so I decided to finally give this product a try. I love the peppermint oil in the balm. It tingles when I first put it on, and I could still feel that cooling sensation well after applying it. I also love the way the pepperment oil opened up my nostrils. I was shocked by that. The scent makes my breath feel fresh. You can smell it feets away from the person who's wearing it. I had to take a lippie away because of the texture. It's hard to get out the pot, but once you get beneath the surface of the balm, it seems to be a little easier to get out. I noticed that with a lot of beeswax based balms. The lip balm is a little too waxy on my lips, and because of that I will not repurchase this again. Next time I will try this in the stick form.

Lips -Unlisted Brand - Urban Rituelle- Lip Balm in Cherry
CitrusT 11/19/2009 3:13:00 AM
This lip balm is a bit on the pricier side ($8), but is well worth it. It comes in a .71oz tin, and it's all natural with added sunscreen. The packaging is very cute and easy to get the top off. I have this in cherry (which goes on clear). It has a cherry juice smell to it, and the smell lightly lingers on the lips. The consistency of the product is sort of on the thick side, but not in a bad way- it's not sticky at all. It does a fantastic job at moisturizing the lips, and it gives a slight glossy effect. Don't worry about licking it off your lips, because it has no taste to it. You can buy this product on amazon.com. I will be trying the other flavors out. These lip balms are great!

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Shea Butter Skin Enriching Moisturiser
CitrusT 11/8/2009 3:46:00 AM
This is my number one drugstore lotion and basically the only one I use. I like how shea butter is at the top of the ingredient list instead of the bottom like a lot of other products out there that claim their lotions as shea butter. This lotion does a wonderful job at keeping my skin moist. There's no need to apply more than once a day, unless you're an elephant. I love the soft sweet scent and the thick like texture. It dissolves into the skin easily leaving a slight subtle glow. I would like to give this lotion five lippies, but I took one away because of the not so natural ingredients. I've tried other drugstore shea butter lotion, and they don't compare to this one. I will continue to purchse this product.

Lip Treatments -Badger - Cinnamon Bay lip & body balm
CitrusT 10/25/2009 4:40:00 AM
This is a unique lip balm. I don't really like the texture of it. It feels like I'm just rubbing oil on my lips... well it is an oil based lip balm. My bottom lip looks wrinkled when using this because the balm is so thin, but oil tends to have that type of effect on my lips. It's not the best moisturizer, but it keeps my lips from looking dry. It slowly sinks into my lips. I love the packaging and the amount of product you get. The scent is okay. It smells like cinnamon gum. I would repurchase whenever I run out, only because I'm a sucker for the cute tin. I would choose a different scent next time.

Lips -Unlisted Brand - Pookie Lip Balm- Tangerine Vanilla
CitrusT 10/23/2009 4:21:00 AM
This is my first time ever using this lip balm. I got it online for about 3 bucks. It's originally priced at $7, but I was not willing to pay that much. I have this in Tangerine Vanilla. It comes in a round tin container, and the lid is easy to open. When I open it up I can hardly detect the smell, it just smells like wax to me, but that's not a problem because I have plenty of sweet smelling balms and glosses. When applied to my lips, I can smell just a hint of the tangerine & vanilla. It has a nice orange color but goes on clear. It makes my lips look naturally moist. One thing I don't like is that it's a little too waxy for me, and it stings when I apply it. Maybe it's the sunscreen. Anyway, I will not be repurchasing this.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Karma Creatives Buddha Balm - Grape Soda
CitrusT 10/22/2009 5:11:00 AM
I just so happened to stumbble across these lip balms recently, and I must say I'm glad I did! I have this in grape soda and cherry vanilla. These come in four soda flavors and four fruit flavors. This is definitely a must have lip balm. They're all natural, and I believe they may contain a little suncreen. These remind me so much of the original Candy Kisses lip balm in the round tins that were out some years ago (not the ones being sold on ebay with a completely different texture). These balms are not sticky and easy to glide across the lips, giving my lips a nice sheen, and the staying power is great. And I only have to put a little of the product on. The grape soda lip balm is a deep purple in the tin, and the cherry vanilla is a berry pink and they all go on clear. These balms have more of a faint smell, but once I put it on my lips, I noticed this sweet taste. When I sniff my lips, I can smell the grape soda and cherry vanilla. I love the slider tin it comes in as well. I can't wait to collect the other flavors.
