Eye Shadow -Clinique - Colour Surge duo in Victorian Pink
Annique 4/3/2007 3:34:00 AM
I've been eying this one for a while, before diving in and buying it. Am I glad I did! The highlighter is a very shimmery (but not glittery) champagne-pink, with a brownish hint to it. The other shade is much more matte, warmer in tone, and darker. When I applied the shimmery colour with the brushy-brush (not the spongey applicator on the other end) over my whole eyelid, I received compliments from family members and friends. Never really gave the darker shade a try, but I suppose I should sometime. It's not that the other shade isn't good, I'm just much too smitten with the shimmery one. I don't think they'll combine well, but on their own, these do so much for my extremely PPP skin and hazellish-brown eyes and dark-brown hair.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere #42 - Macao
Annique 3/13/2007 5:36:00 AM
Don't get me wrong, this is a nice lipstick. But for some reason I thought it would be a not-too-vibrant coral and it ended up reddish fuschia. It's nice, but for my VERY ppp skin, this is a bit too much. I only wear this to special occasions, and that's way too bad, because it IS a pretty lipstick. But if only I had TESTED it I would have known that, in the long run, this lippie is a tad too vibrant for me. So I'm afraid I would not repurchase. On the other side: AQUALUMIERE ROCKS! I love the feel of this lipstick on my lips, so I would definately purchase another one; just not Macao. This varies for every girl though, and I am a bit more vibrant-colour-eww-go awayish than most other MUA'ers. So just imagine that pretty 3 for Overall Rating says 4, or even 5!

Pressed Powders -Bourjois - Pastel Teint Essentiel - Rose
Annique 3/13/2007 5:24:00 AM
With my outrageously pale skin, I need an outrageously light powder tone. This is a very nice smelling powder, very soft, and mattifies the skin without chalkifying it. It still leaves the nice sheen of the face, but not the grease-type of shine. The fact that the applicator (a sponge) 'sits' on the powder, seperated by a mere plastic might be a pet peeve for the other MUA'ers, but I don't mind.

Foundations -Bourjois - Matt Lovely
Annique 3/13/2007 5:18:00 AM
This foundation is good stuff! It mattifies and evens out my skin, without feeling like a plaque of goo. Dries up pretty quickly, so allows for quick post-foundation powdering too. It could have been a tad more matte though, but maybe that's because my own skin is more shine than face. Very affordable price (10 EU!) and cute packaging for a foundation. Compact and handy too.

Mascara -Clinique - high definition lashes
Annique 3/13/2007 5:10:00 AM
I am VERY hesitent with mascara because I am quick to find them too spidery. I got this as a sample with a magazine. I tried it and I love this stuff! It's a classy black, that doesn't look too clumpy and spidery for me, but is still a lot more 'out-there' than what I usually buy (Miss Sporty Waterproof, super natural mascara that you barely see; just how I like it.) When my sample is used up, you bet I will buy this full-size! I like how it especially makes my lower lashes HUUUUGE without looking tacky.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Coral
Annique 3/13/2007 5:06:00 AM
A very nice, shiny, subtle lippy. The colour is a soft coral with just a hint of peachy pink. A very fresh and natural colour for summer. Ideal for the girls who are not that brave with strong colours, but want colour on the lips anyway. It keeps my lips moist and soft for hours, but the shine tends to wear off after a while. The packaging is a luxurious gold reflective tube with the EL logo, and a coral colour on the bottom. The quick shine wear-off is the only thing that keeps it from an otherwise perfect 5! EDIT: I forgot to add that these lippies have the most delicious scent ever!

Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Accentuating Colour in Winter Carnival
Annique 3/9/2007 4:30:00 AM
This eyeshadow is VERY vibrant, moreso than Dior in fact. Winter Carnival is a bright, slightly dark mint-blue, kind of turqoise. This shadow stays on and put for pretty long, but not as long as Diors though. The packaging is nice, though I find the shape a bit too lumpy, but that's a matter of personal taste. It is quite expensive for a single shadow colour, but the quality and quantity are both excellent. So if you don't look on a few pennies and want a strong, understated colour, then check this one out! It has many different colours, so you're guaranteed to find one you like.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Organza

This smells great!! Present, but not overbearing. Intense, but not too strong. Sweetly intoxicating, but not sickening. It might be a little expensive, but it's worth it. Thank you store-counter-lady at Galerie Lafayette! I wouldn't have bought this if it weren't for you. Merci!

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Pleasures
Annique 4/19/2006 6:24:00 AM
What's with everyone calling this a granny scent? I love it! It's a dreamy scent, not too overbearing and not too 'barely there.' It has a sophisticated touch to the smell and the bottle is simple but beautiful. I bought a package of 20EU with a 15 ml bottle and a lipgloss (Estee Lauder's pure colour gloss in Ginger Fizz). I carry both in my handbag and if I want an instant flowery cloud I just spray some in my hair (my skin is too sensitive, so I was advised to do this) and I immediatly smell romantically flowery. This is my HG scent and I will deffo repurchase. But since Estee Lauder's scents are a bit pricey for me, I am careful with my bottle, and will probably keep purchasing handbag-sized bottles. I keep it in the packaging in my bag too, to prevent it from spilling before I can use it all. I have received quite some 3ml samples as GWP's and I find that most Estee Lauder scents look a lot like each other. But they are all great so after this I might try another EL scent.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Addict Lipstick
Annique 3/29/2006 5:09:00 AM
The packaging of this lipstick is so pretty! It's like a little jewel. I have this in X-pink, a shimmery pink lipstick. In the first applications a bit sparkly, becomes less the more you use it. Don't let the product mislead you into thinking it is too sparkly or glittery. It's just perfect! It lasts well.

Liquid -Bourjois - En toute légèreté Le Fond de Teint Sensation Peau Nue (In all lightness, makeup foundation, bare ski
Annique 3/29/2006 5:00:00 AM
I have this in Pêche Luminieuse 23. This is a beautiful foundation, very light. Gives my face a natural shine instead of an oily one. My face is so much more beautiful and radiant with this on. It was recommended to me by a professional because of my oily, super-fair skin. I wear this with Poudre Exquise in Sable Elegant (also recommended). The foundation gives my face a luminious radiation while the powder takes all the shine away and makes my face egalised. I highly recommend buying these two little miracles!

Lipstick -Clinique - Color Surge Bare Brilliance Lipstick Bronze Star
Annique 3/29/2006 4:52:00 AM
The packaging is very modern, looks like ridged iron, very nice. The lipstick is beautiful! I was dissappointed when I saw I hadn't noticed the 'sheer' part and it was way sheerer than I thought it would be. So I gave it to my mother. But I tried it on and saw it WAS nice, even though not what I had went for in the first place. My mother gave it back to me and I love it! It moisturizes my lips and doesn't feather at all! Lasts long too. What on earth was I thinking giving this away? I love this lippie!

Eye Shadow -Bourjois - Pastel Lumiere
Annique 3/29/2006 4:46:00 AM
I have this one in Beige Ambré 62, a light beige shade that is now probably discontinued. The staying power isn't that good, but quite okay. I don't notice the whole wet-effect either, with NONE of Bourjois shadows. But it looks nice and the packaging is to die for!

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal Lipstick- Crystal Pink
Annique 3/29/2006 4:42:00 AM
Just like it's sister Pure Colour Lipstick, it has a nice scent, a good price, and good staying power. Doesn't fade or feather either. Crystal Pink has a cool undertone with a 'crystal effect.' I'd definately re-purchase!

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color

I have this in Melon, bought it previous year and <3 it. It's a beautiful shimmery coral/orange. It feels moist on my lips and doesn't dry them at all. And, it doesn't feather like a lot lipsticks. It lasts long too and has a summery scent. I'd buy this for an exotic summer look!
