Wow, I just tried the mask for the first time today and I am amazed by the results. I have acne-prone combination skin that is sensitive. I left this mask on for about 30-40 minutes and as soon as I was finished, I noticed an immediate difference. All my dead skin cells have simply melted away without a trace. My complexion is so smooth like a baby's bottom! My skin is also a lot brighter and dewy. The best part is the mask calmed down a lot of my tiny acne bumps and they are almost barely there anymore! I would compare the results of this mask to a professional microdermabrasion! I will continue to use this mask as long as they make it! Note: I cleanse my face with Clarisonic and Clarin's cleansing milk first, then applied a mud mask. After the mud mask is dried I wash it off and applied the SK-II mask. After I peeled the mask off I massaged my face to get all the essence absorbed. I applied my night cream right away to seal in the essence. With the excess essence on the sheet I used most of it on my neck :)
If I could, I would give this product 1000000000 lippies. This moisturizer kicks butt! I tried using a lot of other brands... notable mentions are: H2O face oasis (too drying), face oasis ultra hydrator (still drying), Lancome aqua fusion (heavy scent and clogs pores), Decleor's Harmonie Cream (not hydrating enough).... some other brands that I have tried and forgot the name of the moistruzier: Shu Uemura, Payot, Murad, Shiseido, Chanel, Clinique, Biore, Olay..... I tried so many things out there that just can't help my combination skin! I have skin that is SO DRY that it is OILY AND prone to acne. Yes, there is such a thing out there.... for us unlucky girls with picky skin. This moisturizer sinks right in and keep my skin hydrated and happy for hours. It is not greasy at all and doesn't cause any break outs. In fact my skin has been so happy and tamed that I don't get as oily or any break outs any more! I use it along with Estee Laurder's ANR's Sychronized Recovery at night and it's been keeping the fine lines away! Makeup goes on a lot smoother (especially with concealer). I am very happy with this product and would buy it as long as they produce it. In fact, I am so scared that I will be without it for 1 day that I am going to buy another jar this weekend!
this brush is great, I love that it is not flat like most foundation brushes. It is definitely easier to get precise with this brush. If you find when you use this brush you are using a lot more product, try not to dip the ENTIRE brush into your foundation / tm / cream. Just dip the tip to get a bit of product, work it, and then repeat. I find I save a lot more product when I apply it this way. When I used to dip the entire brush in the product the product just gets soaked up. At $22CAD it's great brush for such a good price! I can see that other cosmetics brand will sell this for over $50 with the same quality.
Moisturizers -Biore - SkinPreservation Hard Day's Night
wanyilee 7/5/2010 1:14:00 AM
This is a review for the Canadian version of this cream. For some reason it's called the "moonlight night cream" instead. I had some fine lines on my forehead because I cringe a lot. I was starting to feel hopeless as I tried many product from department store to drug store as nothing seems to help ease the wrinkle. But when I came across this on sale I figured, what the heck, let's give it a shot. I was so surprised at how well it absorbed into my skin and kept it decently hydrated in comparison to a lot of the other moisturizers that "sits on" your skin or absorbs but you'd be dry again shortly. I also find that the fine lines are smoothing out well... I am glad I finally found something that works. This does not feel greasy at all and so far I have no problems with break outs and I am easily irritated. This has a slightly sillicon base texture which I really like. Spreads easily can you can apply more in the drier winter times.
this is one of the best eye cream I have used. I have always had a problem with eye creams, they irritates my eyes! This one doesn't irritate at all (I wear contacts) and it absorbs well into the skin. My eyes are getting some fine lines due to lack of hydration, and this is already helping lots by smoothing out the area! I think I have found my HG eye cream, and best of all it is inexpensive so I can use it sparingly. Also I like how it is in a tube so you are not dipping your fingers into a jar. update: Clarin's hydra quench kicked Biore's butt... Biore was ok
I finally got my temptu in the mail and played with it for the first time. I must admit setting it up was harder than I thought, however it took me less than 20 minutes to get it up and running. Applying the product was such a breeze, so much easier, faster and lighter than holding brushes. The coverage was very very natural, sheer and towards a matte finish. I am impressed by the results. I did one layer first, and applied my LM secret camouflage, than another layer and finished with some translucent loose powder. Results are amazing! I would definitely buy this again. I purchased this from QVC and I highly recommend you buying this there instead of Sephora! They have a sale with the system + 2 pods for $255 USD + free shipping. I am using 004 and I am Laura Mercier SC3, LMTM - nude.
if you have only used the sample size of this product you might have misjudged this.... I have tried using sample size and found it really really plain and average, until one day, my skin was SOOOOO dry and dehydrated from the sun and air conditioning in my office. So I just decided to give the full size a shot since the counter it was right next to my work. This saved my skin! and the texture felt so much nicer in the jar in comparison to the sample (I guess from all the air bubbles in the tube from squeezing) It's definitely the best product of H2O. I have tried other products of H2O and found them average.... (brightening products and the green tea products) but I must say I am starting to explore H2O once again but I am going to stick strictly to the oasis products! I don't find it greasy at all as long as you control how much product you put on your face. I find it absorbs really well, sinks right in and makes my skin really happy :D Update: too drying after awhile, I find myself loading a lot of this on and it would just fit on top of my skin without it being absorbed
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Tanda Skincare System
wanyilee 4/23/2009 3:02:00 AM
UPDATE: I too, is experiencing with the tanda NOT CHARGING anymore. It couldn't even hold the light on for 10 seconds after I charge it. I now have to use it plugged in. The results are not super visible over long term use. I am not sure if I want to continue with LED therapy. It seems like a waste of money and time. I would still use it when I break out with the blue LED because the acne lamp does show results, but I completely gave up on the red LED for anti-aging. My forehead lines are still there and no it does not fade age spots. This review is for the Tanda Professional Unit where it comes with the bigger red and blue LED heads. I have never tried LED treatments before, and have been tempted to try this ever since I saw it on sephora's website. However I live in an area where there is no sephora store and it would be a complete nightmare to return it which is the main reason of not getting it the first place. I like the Tanda professional unit that comes with 2 bigger LED treatment heads in comparison to the normal version, because it is definitely of much better value for those who have double concerns with aging and acne including myself. I have been using this unit for over 2 weeks now, and I have to say that this unit is actually working, and expects my expectations. The blue LED head: have cleared a lot of the small tiny white and black heads that have been bugging me, although my acne have already been kept under control with my other skincare products, I wanted more assurance that I won't wake up with a huge crazy pimple, and so far this has been promising. My acne has been kept in check and I have had lots of compliments on my skin lately! In my opinion, it's best if you combine Tanda with a good skincare routine that works for you. Because through my experience it seems like on days when I did not slack off with my skincare routine, Tanda was able to maximize its benefits. I wouldn't suggest to depend on this as your only skincare product, this is more of a complimentary product to your skincare routine. The red LED head: Every time I use this I can feel that my skin is much more pump and moisturized looking. I do believe over a long term of consistence use this does have very powerful anti-aging effects. In my opinion, this is more of a preventative product, not a cure. As most preventative products, the earlier you start on this, the better! If you have deep wrinkles and is hoping the Tanda will reverse them, through my experience the Tanda red LED treatment showed minimal results. I would suggest more practical procedures such as IPL for about the same amount of money. However, if your goal is to keep new ones from appearing, this is a great preventative complimentary to your anti-aging skincare routine. (along with suncreen, vitamin Cs and AHAs) One of the things I like the most about the product is the size of the treatment heads in comparison to others, also the triangle shape makes it so easy to contour this to the sides and cheeks which other devices might be hard to do. Although treatment times are long, takes about 40 minutes for both LEDs (blue takes about 25 minutes and red takes 12 minutes max) I can have no problem doing other things with this. I browse online, watch tv, talk on phone... this is just a relaxing time for myself everyday! Tips: When I feel like a quick pick-me-up speedy facial, I use a scrub first, and then apply a paper eye mask that moisturizes my eye area, and while waiting for that to be done I treatother areas of my face with tanda.... absolutely love this product! One of my biggest complains is that you DO have to clean your treatment heads every time in oppose to what they tell you! When I first started I didn't clean it and it actually made my white heads/black heads worst. Now everytime before I use it I clean it with a bit of rubbing alcohol to kill all the bateria and it's been fine ever since (PS: I don't use the Tanda skincare products, I just treat my face when it's without any products and I don't wear the eye goggles)
Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
wanyilee 4/14/2009 3:17:00 AM
YES, I would buy this again and again and again and again. HG. Cannot live without this. I have went through tubes of these and I am surprised I never wrote a review for it! 1. Holds your curls like no other mascara base 2. Add any colored mascara on top of this, even the ones that you thought are going straight to the trash can, you would end up having AT LEAST descent results. NOW, Just imagine this with YSL's faux cils if you like Volume or DiorShow Iconic if you like Lengthening. don't even think about comparing this to Lancome's *garbage* mascara base. It's simply another level. Try it, and you won't regret it for sure. Note: They don't sell this in Canada anymore, so I have to constantly stock up by buying online or buy them at Sephoras in the states! =(
Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum ACNES UV Tinted Milk SPF 50
wanyilee 4/12/2009 10:36:00 PM
My HG Sunscreen AND Foundation. That's right. This baby here not only has SPF 50, but it is slightly tinted and gives a bit of coverage. Coverage is sheer but is enough for me to ditch my foundation once and for all. Best of all, it controls oil, shine, and helps with acne! I highly suggest using this with loose powder, because it helps to keep the shine away much longer than using this alone. No break outs, skin looking better everyday as I ditched all my foundations for this. I am so glad I found this, this product is only sold in Asia but I am sure you can find it online. I love this so much and I already bought 3 more bottles incase I run out. Price is dirt cheap, I found it on sasa for around $6 USD.
Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara
wanyilee 4/12/2009 10:26:00 PM
I have always used YSL's effect faux cils, with Shiseido's mascara base and and it has never failed me, but out of curiosity I tried DiorShow Iconic. Well, I have to say I am pleasantly surprise. Through reading the reviews, I didn't expect dramatic lashes, I knew exactly what I was going to get - defined, long and separated lashes. I used this with my Shiseido curler and Shiseido's Masacra base and was quite impressed with the results. There were hardly any clumps, and my lashes looked long and defined. I will buy this again as a day time masacra! But for days where I want dramatic lashes, I am sticking with my YSL effect faux cils! This actually reminds me of YSL's everlong, but BETTER!
This is my favorite cleanser, I use this with or without my clarisonic face brush. I used to have dehyrdated, oily, acne prone skin, and since I used this my skin has improved in terms of texture and level of hydration. I guess it's because I have always used cleansers that strip away your skin's moisture thinking that's "clean". I love that this cleanser is hydrating and doesn't strip away your skin's moisture. Every morning after I wake up, my skin feels a little dry, then I use this and VOLA my skin becomes super hydrated and clean even before I apply my moisturizer. Since using this my skin is not as oily in compose to common belief! I am on my 3rd bottle now and would not use any other cleanser besides this one. I don't find the fragrance on this strong at all, actually it's got a really pleasant smell.
I like the fact that this mask is actually different from the black pearl. In comparison to the black pearl mask, this does a good job in terms of making your skin tone even and take away discolorations, instead of actually lightening your skin like the black pearl. Also the black pearl gives transparency where as this one doesn't. If you are looking for brightening your skin I would suggest using both of them, alternating between each everyday! Love this mask, will repurchase again :) No break outs and extremely hydrating.
I can see that it brightened my skin right after I use this mask. Scars are slightly lightened and my redness is gone. I leave it on basically until the mask is half dried up and rub the essence on to my skin with my hands. I use the excess essence on the sheet on my neck too. My mom and my bf both complimented on my skin after I used it last night. The brightness on my skin lasted... Great find! Will be testing more masks from Beauty Diary soon! <3 this mask and will be repurchasing for sure. No break outs for me. Tip: put the mask in the fridge for a relaxing cooling mask! Update: stopped using this because I find that over long-term use, it kind of makes the skin drier! :(
Skincare - Face -Shu Uemura - Whitening Lotion II (toner)
wanyilee 3/28/2009 1:40:00 AM
I like this product a lot because it does really help with lightening if you use the entire Shu Uemura whitening line. The price it's a bit steep for a toner, but if you are planning into investing to brightening your skin, go for this. Unlike the other shu uemura "waters", this one is not as hydrating as the rest, be prepared to use a good day time moisturizer. I recommend Shu Uemura's B-G reinforcing gel cream if you find this too drying.
