Lipstick -Tokidoki - Nana Star Fantastico Lip Ink
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 3/14/2010 3:18:00 AM

Barely there pink. Unless you have pale lips you're better off buying the darker shades like purples (Peperincino or Carnivora). Nana Star's pink is not visible on the average natural pink lips. Color isn't really buildable either. Does not dry out lips the way most lip stains do. Subtle green floral-fruity scent and virtually tasteless with a slight chemical bitterness, not mango. Would buy again, and in a darker shade. I've tried Cactus Friends and it's really light orange not coral.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Color Presso - Classy 580
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 3/10/2009 9:48:00 AM

Scent = caramel. Taste = none. Texture = non-sticky, smooth. Size = flat, small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Intensity = sheer. Most BORING of the lot, very dull muted version of Ritzy, see my review for Ritzy. Would not recommend this shade of Classy unless you want that girl-next-door super-plain-Jane look.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP color presso in Fashionista
rated 5 of 5
vyxxyn 3/10/2009 9:36:00 AM

Scent = caramel. Taste = none. Texture = non-sticky, smooth. Size = flat, small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Intensity = sheer. Color (mixed) = semi-sheer golden red. Colors alone = light gold shimmer and medium bright red shimmer. Probably most flattering shade for Asians, Latinas and medium toned brunettes. Only hangup is the packaging design - difficult to apply gloss with one hand, tubes are impossible to squeeze at the same time in the center to mix straight away, unless you can be bothered to dispense one color at a time, or use both hands. Moreover the slanted tip applicator's too big for my lips. Other than that, it's great for novelty purposes. Paid half price on offer. I prefer L'oreal Hip liquid lipsticks those have better pigmentation and have superior staying power on lips.

Scent = caramel. Taste = none. Texture = non-sticky, smooth. Size = flat, small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. Intensity = sheer. Color (mixed) = semi-sheer reddish bronze. Colors alone = ivory pearl with pink shift, and dark shimmery burgundy brown, latter similar to Ironic Tonic (Chanel Aqualumiere) with less red. Love both colors I think they're the most versatile combo of all for wide spectrum of skin colors. Only hangup is the packaging design - difficult to apply gloss with one hand, tubes are impossible to squeeze at the same time in the center to mix straight away, unless you can be bothered to dispense one color at a time, or use both hands. Cleansers -L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Gel Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 2/4/2009 6:50:00 AM

Nothing fantastic about this item, neither is it awful. Just an average quality cleanser for its price. I got it at Walgreens for cheap but not free but basing my review on its full price since that's what most of you will buy at. Yes it removes washable dark make-up which few cleansers do. No it did not irritate my super sensitive skin. Lovely packaging. The only con is its scent. First time use was tolerable and then it gets worse. Smell isn't pungent but it seems to linger for hours! Smell is like a fusion of pine and freshly squished bugs. If you're afraid of sensitive reactions may I suggest you dispense a small amount at a time and lather well with water first before applying to face.

Lip Gloss -Hard Candy - Sweet Spot Lip Gloss
rated 3 of 5
vyxxyn 12/4/2008 8:07:00 AM

A shameless replica of a longer established Australian brand of cosmetics called Bloom. Sweet Spot has exactly the same scent (orange vanilla) and taste of Bloom's glosses, though Bloom's texture and packaging are far more superior. A plus is that it has a non-sticky texture which is important to me. The tube I got was faulty where the bottom didn't seal properly and gloss was leaking out of that seal and smeared all over my other items purchased from Hard Candy's website during the 75% discount clearance sale. Shade bought was Groovy, a sheer red with sparkles. Goes on rather unevenly some blending needed for proper application. Applicator hole cracked after about 15 times of use, trapping old dried gloss and dirt, hard to clean and soon smelled foul. Needless to say I binned it. Won't buy again even if it goes for 1c a piece.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush - Fruitloose
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 12/4/2008 7:59:00 AM

Love the slant of the dispenser on tube, fits lips just right and doesn't crack unlike other tubular glosses like Hard Candy's. Fruitloose smells like a strange combination of cherry + grape + fruit punch + gumball. Tastes like gumball. Texture is just like the other Beauty Rush glosses - semi-sticky. Color is sheer barely there pink, gotta apply a lot to see any substantial coloring, great for those of us who don't want to wear too much color over the top.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Rich
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 11/19/2008 4:52:00 AM

Clinique skincare products usually burn or sting my skin but this one didn't. After 6 months of use twice daily, my under-eye puffiness have disappeared, my dark circles have subsided and I see a remarkable reduction of fine lines around the inner corners of my eyes just above the nose bridge. Used sparingly, this cream lasts a looooong time! 6 months and I'm not even a quarter way through the jar. What made me purchase Clinique was my husband's comment about how my jetlagged eyes suddenly appeared bright and depuffed! This was on board one of the long haul international flights, where he wasn't aware I applied the cream at the airport duty free shop (tester) prior to boarding. I immediately bought my jar from the airline's duty free cart! Otherwise I'm not a fan of Clinique. Only gripe is that it should have come in a pump dispenser for hygiene purposes. Don't know if I'll buy again, I rarely repurchase anything unless the product is exceptionally good. This one is so-so, I would prefer something that completely restores my eyes to their once youthful state. If I can't find a better cream then I might go back to this one. We'll see. I think this cream is a dream for dry skin otherwise it can be too emollient for oily, or combo skins.

Shampoo -Shi Kai - Everyday Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
vyxxyn 11/19/2008 3:35:00 AM

LOVE this shampoo and have repurchased. I have sensitive scalp that hates sulfates and this shampoo is perfect without them. Shampoo leaves my hair thoroughly cleaned, stopped the itching once and for all, and softened my dry wiry hair a great deal. Smells pleasantly sweet floral. Only flaw I see is the packaging, it should be a pump for easier dispensing.

Tinted Moisturizer -Olay - Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging UV Moisturizer Plus Touch Of Foundation
rated 3 of 5
vyxxyn 11/19/2008 3:24:00 AM

No would not repurchase only because the Touch of Sunshine is better. I don't know what's the difference between these 2 in terms of ingredients. Touch of Sunshine left my skin dewy smooth and when worn overnight, I wake up to flawless skin. Touch of Foundation left me with slightly red patches. I have medium skin tone around NC30. Touch of Foundation is very barely tinted for me, it's brown in bottle but goes on like clear. Color coverage is poor for a tinted moisturizer, also can get patchy if I apply carelessly. A bottle lasts about 6 months. Sorry I'm returning to Touch of Sunshine.

Cleansers -Shi Kai - Borage Dry Skin Therapy - Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 11/19/2008 3:15:00 AM

Meant for treating dry skin, this cleanser left my skin drier than it already is. Consistency is too runny, diluted, doesn't lather much. Ability to remove dark make up? Good. Cleansing properties? Good. Foaming? Average. Moisturizing? No. My skin felt dry and tight. The pump dispenser is a great idea though. Sorry won't be buying again, I prefer a cleanser that doesn't leave my skin tight.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Wei East China Herbal Foaming Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
vyxxyn 10/6/2008 2:57:00 AM

BEST facial cleanser for dry sensitive skin! This gel form lathers well, thoroughly cleans, smells great (soft-floral-herbal), and best of all gentle. I have DRY sensitive skin and this is perfect for me, I don't get a tight feeling as I do with most other cleansers. My skin feels softer and texture is just right. A little overpriced for non-complex formula though. Ingredients: Deionized water, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Glyceryl Oleate, Lotus Flower extract, Mushroom (Tremella Fuciformis) extract, Chinese Rose Flower extract, Mandarin Orange Peel extract, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparaben, Blue 1, Fragrance.

Gels/Soaps -Everyday Minerals - Rosemary, Basil, Lemongrass Cleansing Bar
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 10/6/2008 12:10:00 AM

For a soap without parabens nor sulphates, the lather is pretty amazing. Although the pungent smell of rosemary and lemongrass takes a while getting used to, the scent doesn't remain on skin after a shower, but the aroma will linger in the bathroom for some time. My face has a naturally dry sensitive skin, and after cleansing with this bar, it felt tight but clean. I guess it's more suited for oily or combination skin. Contrary to what has been claimed about its makeup removal properties on the website, I found that it couldn't even remove my non-mineral dark eye makeup especially the washable mascara :( so one lippie off.

Lipstick -Too Faced - Lip of Luxury - Celebrity Meltdown
rated 5 of 5
vyxxyn 9/6/2008 11:33:00 PM

Pretty packaging, small and compact which is good. Celebrity Meltdown is a metallic rosy copper shade, beautiful with my skin tone. I think the price is right although it does seem a little steep for a lippie this small. After all I'd just need one application and I'm done, color is lightweight though intense but stays on for many more hours than a regular lipstick like MAC (which I find having to re-apply throughout the day). Box describes this lipstick to have champagne essence and fizzes on lips. Truth is, it doesn't taste of any champagne although grape extract is listed in its ingredients, and neither does it fizz on my lips. What I really like about Lip of Luxury Lipsticks is the even color distribution across my lips. No feathering, not patchy, but a smooth sweep of color. It also gives the illusion of fuller lips.

Lipstick -Urban Decay - Vinyl
rated 4 of 5
vyxxyn 9/6/2008 11:09:00 PM

1 lippie off because of unnecessarily bulky packaging, I mean this thing is about 3x as heavy as a regular lipstick, although the stick itself is of average size. This packaging will not fit into single lipstick cases and I'd recommend stowing it away into a cosmetic pouch rather than leave it loose among the contents of your handbag. Reason being the dagger part can snag your delicate bag lining, tear paper and stuff. Moreover it looks kinda flimsy I'm paranoid of it breaking off. If it does, I'd have difficulty prying off the cap to get my lipstick out :( VINYL is a deep red shade with plum accent, not quite dark like what's portrayed on UD's website. If I based my choice solely on online pictures I wouldn't have bought this shade LOL. Color is intense and has above average staying power. Texture is halfway between matte and emollient, but certainly way more emollient than the old UD lipsticks in bullet packaging. Scent is licorice (anise alcohol is one of the listed ingredients), and tastes unpleasantly like bitter licorice caramel, definitely not sweet at all. The only reason I'd repurchase is that I love the shade as long as other brands don't have this color. I've been wanting a red-plum shade and this is perfect.
