Just. Don't. Unless you are applying at the local circus. Please. Do yourself a favor. If you want misses piggy pink stained the eff all over your cheek for the rest of the day, go right ahead and blow 30 dollars on this garbage. Not cute...unless it's the look your going for then more power to you I'm not judging, just not the look I'm going for most days..maybe halloween..

Brows -Milani - Brow Fix Brow Kit

I've been sort of obsessed with the perfect brow over the years. Brows and foundation are sort of my poisons. Anyway, being naturaly light blonde I'm fairly lucky to have ANY eyebrows to work with. My mother who dies her hair blonde has invisible sparse brows and has the urge to kill her own child when she sees mine. I'm trying to teach her that it's mostly an illusion! This is my magic little trick. Being so obsessed with the perfect brows for as long as I've been, I've been around the brow product block so to speak and I am still so excited and happy to pull this gem out of my drawer everyday. It's amazingly creamy but not overly or obnoxiously so, so it fills the brows in very quickly with even color. I chose light and I usualy dip my angled brush in to the light and darker shades both and it provides the perfect color for my light/ light medium brown eyebrows without looking unatural. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that the color isn't too warm or too cool, as most brow products tend to run. I scoff at my maybeline powder, pencil and revlon pencil now. My mac in fling and lingering, however, tend to scoff at me. They seem to knowingly mock me, sitting untouched, with their hefty price tags. This baby was 6 dollars! The highlight color I actualy quite liked as well which surprised even me! It's a beautiful light sheen without being too frosty and it's not very opaque so it let's your skin tone shine underneath. I've used all of the tools in here in a pinch and while they are not great by any means they are still very usable and appreciated! Love this perfect, handy, cheap little kit and the makeup horder in me wants to rush out and buy a backup even though I don't see myself using it all up anytime soon. But at such a great price for such a great staple product, I may do just that!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
underthepink3 11/2/2011 7:31:00 PM
Count me in, guys. I'm in love. It's times like these I am so greatful that we have places like makeupalley and youtube to find out about great products like these from real people. Before the age of the makeup communitys and being connected to all you kick ass people all I had to rely on for product recs was the magazines, which of course just promote their sponsor's products. Maybelline Great Lash anyone? (I still want to know how in the actual f that mascara manages to keep winning awards but I digress.) I'm greatful to have heard of these little drugstore gems at a time when my car was in the shop and I wasn't going to be able to take advantage of Sephora's F&F sale for the second year in a row. I was bumming, guys. Then, I kept hearing buzz about these new Revlon Lip Butters and decided to investigate. I probably looked up every review and and gazed upon every swatch on the internet. It was love at first sight. Out with feeling sorry for myself and in with my new obsession. An affordable, obtainable obsession. I needed to own these. I needed to rub them on my lips. I needed to calm down, my husband said. Lucky for me, I have a Rite Aid within walking distance and a few dollars in UP rewards to spend. I picked up 2, Candy Apple and Peach Parfait, fell in love and went back the next day for 4 more. They retail for 7.49 here in California but rang up as 6.74 with my wellness card. This week Rite Aid is printing out $4 UP rewards when you purchase $10 of Revlon's lip, nail or beauty tools, with a limit of 4 per card. I estimate that with the discounts and UP rewards all 6 cost me around 27 dollars, but with my initial UP rewards it came out to around 17, so happy about that. The four I picked up yesterday where Berry Smoothie, Red Velvet, Creme Brulee, and Sweet Tart. Candy Apple is this shimmerless beautiful warm orange-red. I'm NC20 and it is very flattering. I wore it for halloween and I can see myself wearing it alot for the upcoming holidays. (groan, I know, sorry) Peach Parfait is a gorgeous peachy pink and would be absolutely perfect if it didn't have the shimmer. Now, the shimmer is subtle and not a chunky glittery kind thankfully, it won't migrate to your chin and cheeks or anything so I don't mind it as much but I do prefer the shimmerless formula more. I just feel like it is smoother and more moisturizing feeling. The shimmers don't feel gritty or anything, I just find it to be a bit thicker and less slick. I originaly picked up the Strawberry Shortcake but put it back for Berry Smoothie and am so glad that I did. Berry Smoothie is definitely in my top three. It's a sheer medium berry pink and the shimmer in this one is actualy quite beautiful. I've already been reaching for this over all of the others. Red Velvet is a dark vampy brick red, but thanks to the light awesome formula that is the lip butters, it is very wearble. One or two swipes will do ya for this one, but you can build it up to achieve a more vampy look. Great shade for the fall and winter. I can see this one looking great on almost anyone. Creme Brulee is a light very sheer beige with shimmer. I picked up Creme Brulee against my better judgment because I kept hearing about how it's a definite MLBB must. As I feared, It washed me out. Not a huge fan but I've been playing with it and it looks alot better mixed with the other lip butters, but honestly, I can't see myself hasseling with that too much. I applied it over smashbox's lipliner in pro and with the added pink it then looked like a suitable MLBB without giving me corpse lips. Or even worse, shimmery corpse lips. Last but not least, Sweet Tart is a warm medium sort of barbie pink but again due to the sheerness it is very wearble and flattering. While these are sheer, they definitely are very pigmented and buildable to a point. I love that you can quickly swipe them on without a mirror. I love that the foody names correlate with the shade, but not with any scent or flavor. Revlon really stepped up their game with these! The hype is real. I'm excited to collect more shades.

I got into "high end" makeup and shopping at sephora about 6 years ago. In the midst of the excitment of new brands and discoverys, I was immediately drawn to benefit boxed powders and the brand as a whole. It was pretty much down hill from there. After the honeymoon phase wore off and I began to branch out into more and more brands, maybe the ones that werent so flashy with gimmicky retro packaging, I *gasp* began to discover that I didn't actualy like benefit products all that much. There was so much out there within the same price range and even cheaper that I absolutely could love and get excited over using every single day and not just the initial excitment of buying the cutest darn little package. And now, that is what benefit boxed powders (and all that other benefit loot that sits prettily and silently in the corners and back of my organizers) respresents to me. Over priced gimmicky, glittery stuff that the teenage and early twentys me obsessed over. I still love adorable packaging as much as the next girl, but as I've grown up and had kids and began to watch my money more carefully, I began to realize that it's pretty ridiculous of me to keep spending so much money on this brand when I havn't really been in love with the actual products! That said, *takes deep breath* Hoola sucks. (for me) It's a light beige yellowy brown that makes my nc20 skin look dirty (and yeah, I'm applying it right!) Plus after struggling with major MAJOR acne for 3 years and spending so much $$ on trying to correct that and f**king my skin up way worse, I finaly figured out that these boxed powders where the culprit and after stopping use of them my face has improved dramaticaly. I looked up the ingredients on zerozits.com and sure enough it was a no-no! I recently bought Too faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer after doing lots and lots of research and highly HIGHLY reccomend that for any skin tone, no matter how light because if you apply it lighly and with the right brush it will look so natural! Not trying to bash benefit or anyone who likes these products, just giving my honest opinion which I really appreciate that from all of you! Couldn't live without all of your reviews! That's my 2 cents. :) Just for fun, here's a list of benefit products that I have wasted my money on that now go unused because they suck for me: Hoola Dandelion Coralista Benetint Poisietint Dallas High beam Gilded eye pencil Bad gal blue Bad gal brown Celebutant pallett That gal Playsticks foundation Some kind of gorgeous Erase paste Dr. feelgood You rebel lite See? fun. :/

The only thing that helped my 1 year old sons eczema! After the eveeno and all of the doctors creams and different brands I tried this was the only thing. Smells heavenly. I was tempted to slather it on myself. In fact that's not a bad idea..

I received a sample of this eye cream and found it rather odd that while using it my eyelids actualy dried out and developed dry flakies! Really weird since I have oily skin and don't normaly even wear a seperate eye cream- just dab a bit of my regular facial moisturizer around the area. Hmmph.

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy
underthepink3 12/26/2010 9:54:00 PM
This smells really sweet and delicious. But the only draw back is that I personaly feel like this fragrance is more suited for a teen or young woman. I am not being ageist, this scent smells beautiful on my Mom and it's just a matter of personal taste and personality! I am 24 and for me I am just now wanting a more sophisticated womanly scent, which isn't this. I only wish it had a touch more musk or amber, or depth to it. My only other gripe is the staying power shocked me! If I am paying big $$ for a high end designer fragrance it best last more than an hour! It's farrr too light which would be perfect for a teen seeing as how they tend to overapply! Bottle is glam and ridiculous and fun. If you like this then try Bath and Body Works Forever Sunshine, I actualy prefer that scent to this and I'm not even a B&BW fan! It has a bit more of a citrusy opening but the same snuggly praline dry down and has more depth and staying power too! I plan on layering my forever sunshine lotion with this fragrance spray untill it's out and then just sticking with FS till I crave something new. :) *EDIT* Today around 10 am I layered the perfume with the viva la juicy shower gel and lotion and liberaly sprayed this all over my body. It is now 8:30 pm and I am totaly dissapointed to say that there is not even the slightest trace of this frag anywhere on my body! I even asked my husband to sniff me and he says he can't smell anything! Bummer.

I really don't like writing negative reviews but I guess we're all here to give our two cents, and here's mine: I really wanted to like this and I thought I would! I was lemming this for 2 years and I was looking for a perfect fresh summer pick me up scent. Well for me this is not it. I have it on my wrist now and pee-yew, all it smells like on me is a men's cologne. Very spicy, very musky. I've been applying a touch to my wrists for a few days now hoping it would grow on me and nope. This could definitly be unisex. To me it totaly smells like those cheap axe body sprays that teenage boys douse themselves with. Like cheap sweet musk and woods. The only good thing I can say about this fragrance is boy does it last! I wish I could of gotton some of the sweet fresh deliciousness some of the other reviewers mentioned; this smells like sweaty teenage boys! I don't want to offend anyone who loves this, to each his (and her!) own! I'm sure this smells lovely on the right woman!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
underthepink3 11/2/2010 2:25:00 PM
Ah the big bad Naked Palette. What's to add that hasn't already been said? For some reason I'm still compelled to give my two cents. :) I am, like many other women a busy twenty something mommy who prefers understated yet feature enhancing neutrals for my everyday life. Now, don't get me wrong. I adore UD for they're stunning color enriched eyeshadows just as much as the next gal and can't find myself resisting them. I have quite the colorful collection between my 2 BOS and sustainable palette. But on a day like this, (which really, is a pretty regular sort of day) I just can't bring myself to cover my eyes in oh let's say midnight cowboy rides again, (cause we all love to hate that glitter bomb) feeling like my first grader's teacher is going to take me seriously at the parent teacher's conference tonight. Or my one year old's pediatrician. Or just the grocery store. Of course not all of these magical shadows are glitterbombs but most are. And I adore them all but I simply can't justify wearing them...often. If at all. That's where the Naked Palette enters. I feel neutral pretty but never boring! The reason why I only gave this a four is because I think we all could of used a non frosty highlight color and a matte black. But who am I to demand naked perfection? Poor thing already apears to be suffering from some sort of mange...all of the pretty gold lettering and brown velvet are rubbing off and collecting various other makeup products on it even though I have been very careful. Alas.. I love you the way you are, naked.

Polishes -OPI - Diva of Geneva
underthepink3 11/1/2010 7:41:00 PM
Diva of geneva is gorgeous!! I absolutely love this deep complex romantic color! I bought a full size at a nail discount store for %50 percent off and am still so happy about that even after using it 5 times for a mani and a pedi! I can absolutely see myself using up this entire bottle and that says something. I like to buy the packs of minis because even if I adore a color I get bored so quickly. This is a deep romantic wine color that shifts from a burgundy wine with gold flecks to a deep fuchsia depending on the lighting. I am in love with this color under any light. Looks stunning in contrast to pale skin. This will be my signature color for the fall and upcoming winter. I plan on wearing this untill Valentines day! And the fact that I am receiving tons of compliments just makes me love it more. I find myself staring at my hands dreamily throughout the day. J'adore!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears
underthepink3 10/25/2010 12:13:00 PM
From the description and based off of the fact that I really enjoyed the original BS Fantasy, I was super excited when I ordered a big bottle of this unsniffed. (and on sale) I really wish that I had gotton some of the yummyness some of the other reviewers described this as..I have tried time and time again to like this and all I get is a yucky cheap plastic berry smell, a smell like something you'd find maybe in a ltitle girls doll. I was hoping that the dry down would prove to provide some of the vanilla goodness it's supposed to have but all I get even after a few hours is sharp synthetic plastic berry. I don't detect any vanilla whatsoever! In fact I there is nothing "warm" about this frag. It's somewhat strange. Maybe my bottle is off? I like "little girl" foody type scents like Pink Sugar, the original Fantasy, Vera Wang Princess, etc etc. They may not be sophisticated or overly womanly or appropriate for certain situations or places but man I love them and I'm not afraid to admit it! :) But this, this is....just...no. This is not a scent that should be in a perfume bottle sold to women to spray all over themselves. This is eerie old plastic doll with it's hair cut off and a missing arm...this is chemical warfare! In fact this is probably what BS herself whas wearing that night she went crazy with the umbrella...

Shampoo -Redken - All Soft Shampoo
underthepink3 9/28/2010 6:33:00 PM
It wasn't untill the third time using this product that I really noticed a HUGE difference in my hair. While I do use "high end" styling products, this was my first time using a high end shampoo and conditioner. I was lucky enough to stumble on a sale and impulsively bought the 10.1 oz shampoo and the 8.5 oz All Soft conditioner @ 50% off. I had been hearing raves and wanting to splurge on these for a long time. I could justify the price, but just barely. ;) I have very long naturaly wavy and blonde hair. It is very fine but I have a whole bunch of it. I love the smooth and sleek look when I straighten my hair but have learned to embrace and work with my waves sue to the fact that straightening just takes way more time than I have most days. I love the fact that after I shampoo my hair it already feels conditioned even before the conditioner! That makes me feel like I need to use less conditioner, which in turn makes me very happy to go through less product so it lasts longer! I really like the scent but I wish it wasn't so subtle. It doesn't stay in my hair after it dries so if you are easily bothered by strong scents or prefur a subtle scent so it doesn't clash with your perfume, this would be awesome. After the third wash and condition with this my hair feels different! In a very good way! It just feels so healthy and conditioned, not weighted down or greasy, or straw like. My natural waves are sleeker and shiny and healthy feeling but have natural bounce! My hair has never felt better. I don't even feel like I need any extra product, like my fekkai glossing cream or biolage shine milk. On one hand I'm thrilled to know that with the right shampoo and conditioner my hair can be this amazing, but on the other hand kind of bummed because now I'm spoiled and ruined to my usual drugstore shamp. and cond. that is way more in my budget. ** On a side note, why in the world do they make the shampoo 10 oz's and the conditioner 8 oz's? This drives me mad! Especialy because I go through the conditioner faster than the shampoo!

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Candy Corn (Caramel) PocketBac (Halloween 2010)
underthepink3 9/28/2010 1:55:00 AM
I love all of these little fall/halloween themed hand sanitizers! Halloween's my favorite so I quickly grabbed up one of each of these and even went back for 5 more. I gave away three and kept the 2 that where my favorite as backups. This one and the marshmellow one are divine. I must say, at night when the lights are off the Zombie Marshmallow pocketbac looks awesome glowing in the dark. I love anything foody, so of course the caramel and marshmellow scents of this one and the zombie squad put me in heaven. After the alcohol scent evaporates then what's left on your hands is yummy goodness! I wish B&BW would come out with a Halloween body care line like they do for Christmas. I would buy a million Zombie Squad Marshmallow and Candy corn shower gels and lotions, to stock up for year round!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Forever Sunshine
underthepink3 9/28/2010 12:33:00 AM
Wow! Bath and body works hasn't come out with a scent that I've liked in years! I absolutely adore this! It's the praline and vanilla dry down that gets me everytime. So warm and snuggly and yummy, but also a tad sophisticated for such a fruity foody. Sometimes I think the citrus orange top notes are getting a tad cloying and then POOF...that vanishes and all that is left is the yummy aformentioned snuggly praline vanilla goodness. I'm not really a body spray type of girl, and I prefer good ol' dial or dove soap over any body washes, but I slather this lotion on right after a shower and I love the wafts of this fragrance on my skin all day. I love that at the end of the day when I take off my clothes they smell so yummy, and my skin still does too. I don't even feel like I need perfume with this. This scent has such an amazing staying power. I am on my second bottle and not tired of it yet. :)
