Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

UPDATE...My lashes are falling out!!! Time to dump this mascara. So much for first impressions. AND the 2nd tube I bought of this peeled and got green sparkles all over all my other make up packaging.? Pleas eignore he glowing review I previously left for this mascara. I love this mascara. I bought a tube of this to get me by until I got my Dior Show in my Christmas stocking. :-) But after a couple of weeks of using this I crossed the Dior off my wish list. It's not as luxurious as Dior but I really do like it as an every day mascara. It easily holds up for day or evening.

Nails -OPI - Axxium Soak Off Gel Nail Lacquer
rated 2 of 5

I had my reservations about trying these and my instincts were correct. :-( Only lasted 2 days before the gel on the edge of my nails (fingers really) started chipping and the nails looked bad and felt rough. The tech was quite good but I do think her advice to push off the product that was on my fingers was misleading and caused the chipping. I found if I filed lightly I had much more control and those nails looked better longer. I won't be doing this again.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
themama23 10/26/2009 9:13:00 PM

I had read in magazines, heard in a spa I used to work at and seen on MUA all the great reviews about Seche Vite but just hadn't bothered with trying it until recently. Wow - now HG - will not go without it. Beautiful shine, and faster drying time. Considering I usually ruin my nails because I can't sit still long enough for them to dry fully this is a great addition to the nail routine.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - sensitive skin sunblock spf 30
rated 5 of 5
themama23 10/26/2009 9:08:00 PM

I first bought this sunscreen after I had my first light chemical peel. It was what was recommended by the derm. I have been using it for almost 4 months. I always wore a higher SPF and worried this would not protect my face in Florida sun, but it is all I need. Does not make me break out and I use it daily. I agree it is a bit white but I am pale so really not a problem for me. It does make me a bit shiny but I can use blotting papers if I need to. :-) I will continue to repurchase.

Mascara -100 Percent Pure - Fruit Pigmented ultra lengthening mascara
rated 5 of 5

Having a 13 yo daughter interested in trying make up I decided to go natural with this mascara. I bought 2 tubes off QVC, one for each of us, I am so pleasantly surprized by this product. I honestly thought if I start my daughter with a natural mascara she won't know what she is missing - but it really is a nice perfoming mascara. No smudging in Florida heat. I will repurchase for both of us. I also bought her the 100% pure concealer. EDIT UPDATE *** Still nice product but tube dried up quickly, within 2 months ***

Concealers -Cle de Peau - Concealer
rated 5 of 5
themama23 6/4/2008 4:49:00 PM

I tried the Shiseido (sister company) less expensive concealer first - didn't really seem to do anything to hide my melasma and undereye circles. Then I went to the Cle de Peau counter - HG! HG! HG! I honestly didn't expect it would do all that it did. I bought the ivory shade for my NC-20 skin. It is a very nice concealer and I will definitely repurchase despite the crazy cost. I figure all my MUA friends save me enough money on other necessities that I can splurge once a year on this concealer. :)

Hair Color -Revlon - Frost & Glow Highlighting Kit
rated 5 of 5
themama23 4/5/2008 7:33:00 PM

Bought this in two boxes - light one for my daughter with dark blonde hair and dark one for my daughter with brown hair. I had no problem doing this with the cap and hook supplied in the package - must be easier than if you are doing it yourself. My 13 yo even came home and said her teacher had asked her where see had her highlights done - she really liked them. Very subtle and natural for my 12 yo blonde daughter, and more dramatic for my 13 yo brunette. just what they wanted.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
rated 5 of 5

Thank you ladies!!! I actually checked hair color to see reviews of highlighters for my 12 & 13 yo old daughters. Stumbled across this and decided maybe I should give the $120 salon trip a break. I was VERY nervous - I've seen bad home color jobs far too many times. I LOVE this color and have now used it twice. I've gotten more compliments on my hair with this color than I did with salon color!! I didn't even tell anyone I colored it myself. I went to the salon the other day for a trim and my stylist (though disappointed I had cancelled my color appt) even said my hair seemed healthier than usual - 10 weeks since I had seen her and I've colored it twice with #40 Dark Chocolate brown. It's a keeper!

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Good-bye Cellulite
rated 5 of 5
themama23 5/15/2007 12:33:00 PM

I am 36 yo 125 lbs and have had 3 babies (gained 50 lbs in each pregnancy.) So yes there is a little cellulite - not a lot but it is there. I tried this last night for the first time and I HONESTLY see a difference already - I actually had to really look for the bumps this morning. I reapplied this morning and I have also bought the patches as well and will try those out soon. I will update about this as time goes on, but I really didn't think I would see a difference so quickly - can't wait to see what the recommended 4 weeks does. I bought this after seeing the results on the Tyra Banks show.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 5 of 5
themama23 4/2/2007 12:45:00 PM

I love it. DH bought me this for Christmas and I thought I would use it for "special occasions" but I end up using it almost everyday. I sometimes trade off with Full & Soft (still love that too) I will definitely buy again.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Thermal Skin Polisher
rated 5 of 5
themama23 12/7/2006 1:09:00 PM

Okay I have bought 3 of these and I love it! It feels nice. I like the warming sensation. Although I broke out a little initially - out with the old crud - my face is nice and smooth and I do notice a little improvement in overall texture and appearance. I tend to have a bit of break out each month - not so this month - 2 teeny tiny little bumps which cleared up within 48 hours of appearing. I will keep buying it & it is on my stocking stuffer list for DH. :)

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 5 of 5

This is great - love the smell and the results the product provides. I leave it on overnight as a spot treatment. I initially used it every other day and now I use it in t-zone only once per week. It works for me - and I see no reason to spend more $$$. HG mask.

Eye Makeup Remover -Merle Norman - Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
themama23 5/26/2006 3:44:00 PM

This is my HG eye make up remover. I wear contacts and also use the MN creme eyeliner (excellent water proof product) You NEED this remover to remove the staying liner. I have tried other removers just becasue I like to mix it up once in awhile but I love this and always come back to it. MN always is great about providing samples to try at home before you buy. Works super for long lasting lipsticks too though. :) Love it!

Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - tweezers
rated 5 of 5

I splurged and bought the $40 Can. slanted and pointed pair - worth every penny. I even spent an extra $8 to buy the case for these - I figure there is less chance of losing them this way, but if I ever do lose them I will repurchase.

Styling Products -Joico - K-Pak Protect & Shine Serum
rated 5 of 5
themama23 5/21/2006 3:17:00 PM

Have to have this. My stylist recommended it to me after I said - WHAT SMELLS SO GOOD? When she finished my hair for the first time. That was almost a year ago and this is still a great product for me. I just opened my second little bottle this morning. So it has lasted me well. My hair is just below my shoulders and I only use two pumps of this every other day after flat ironing. It smells great - coconutty!
