Powder -Cover FX - Cover Fx - Powder Fx

This product is CRAP!!! I usually wear MAC StudioFix, which looks a lot nicer and covers more than this overpriced, chalky waste of money.

Concealers -Lancome - Effacernes
silkybuns 1/27/2012 9:34:00 AM
Does not crease ever on me but I have to agree with other reviewers that it does not fully cover dark circles, I would say this is light to medium coverage which for me at least is OK because I don't have much to cover. I don't think that the price is crazy expensive, I paid about $30 for mine but it lasted me over a year and a half with daily use. One thing I want to mention: some reviewers have complained about this concealer looking bad/not covering on their face...UGHH...this concealer is made for UNDEREYES, not for the face, it is called EFFACERNES (effacer: to erase, cernes: undereye circles)...now that I got this off my chest, I can move onto my next review.

Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Bare Study
silkybuns 9/29/2011 8:52:00 AM
I usually wear the Soft Ochre paint pot and I bought this based on a MA's recommendation, she said this would be nicer. This creased within a couple of hours and all I could see was shimmer, it did not help conceal any darkness on my lids. I will keep using Soft Ochre instead, not only is it a good match for my NC35 (C4 in the summer) eyelids, it lasts all day without creasing.

Treatments -It's a 10 - Miracle Leave in Product
silkybuns 9/28/2011 9:00:00 AM
This was such a waste of money for me. I had seen many reviews on youtube on it was on my list of things to buy for my next shopping trip in the States (I live in Canada). I was really excited when I finally picked this up but unfortunately it did nothing for my hair...I have long, fine, frizzy, the bottom half of my hair is curly and the top half wavy...this did not eliminate frizz, it did not detangle, it did not make my hair shiny nor soft, on the contrary, it made my hair really matted, dry and rough looking.

Lip Liners -MAC - Oak Lip Liner
silkybuns 9/25/2011 1:20:00 AM
1. I've been using this liner for the longest time. The first time I bought it was because a girl at the MAC counter insisted that it would be the best nude for me and I HATED it at first, I thought it was waay too dark. I'm an NC30 in the winter and up to a C4 in the summer, the trick to make it work for me is to put either a lighter peachy/pink nude or a shimmery medium to light pink lipstick or gloss, anything the same shade or even close to the shade of the liner makes it look like poo...even a clear gloss. 2. I have to say, I was at Sally's today and I picked up the Beautique lipliner in Natural for $1.99, seeing as though it looked very similar to my MAC Oak liner. When I got home, I put the Beautique liner on the right side of my lips and the MAC Oak on the left side...they're pretty much the same shade! Only difference is that the BEautique liner goes on smoother, the pencil is a lot longer than the MAC one and it's only $1.99!!! Goodbye, MAC, I'm buying the Beautique liner from now on.

Lip Liners -Unlisted Brand - Beautique lip liner -Natural
silkybuns 9/25/2011 1:07:00 AM
Last minute purchase while waiting in line to pay for my purchases Sally's, it was $1.99, so I figured why not....OMG, I am so happy I picked this up, when I opened it at home I realized that it looked very much like my MAC Oak lipliner, which I was running out of, so just to compare, I tried the Beautique Natural liner on the right side of my lips and the MAC Oak on the left...well, they looked exactly the same, only difference is that I find that the Natural liner goes on a lot smoother. Two thumbs up!!

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray
silkybuns 5/29/2011 10:47:00 PM
My scalp is grease central, I hash every other day but I MUST use dry shampoo on the days I don't wash. So far I've used Batiste, Oscar Blandi, Klorane and now Suave. When I saw this one lonely can of Suave dry shampoo at the store, for about $3, I grabbed it as fast as I could. Well, damned thing was practically empty, I was barely able to spray around the crown of my head once. I thought "ok, well, it was the last can on the shelf, maybe other people had been using it as a tester". Next trip to the store, I picked up 2 more cans...way from the back of the shelf, just to make sure they hadn't been used...well, I am sorry to report that I was able to get 2 uses out of one of the cans and almost 3 out of the other. So I spent $9 on 6 uses if I add up the 3 cans I bought= not a good deal at all. I will stick with Oscar Blandi for now, it's more expensive but at least the guy sells me the cans full of product.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner
silkybuns 8/4/2010 12:44:00 AM
Amazing eyeliner, goes on so smoothly and draws a nice intense black line, barely budges throughout the day. Kind of expensive IMO and I never buy eyeliners that need to be sharpened because I am a klutz, I suck at sharpening pencils so I always end up breaking the tip so I lose a lot of the product, I wish this came in the form of a mechanical pencil. Still, great liner.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara

I hate you, Great Lash!! Why do they keep you around?? You do nothing for my eyelashes, they clump, they smudge, ugh!! Worst product I've ever tried in my 20 years of buying and wearing makeup.

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush- Bombshell
silkybuns 8/4/2010 12:34:00 AM
HC Bombshell and MAC Well Dressed the two most amazing blushes I have ever purchased. Could be used as a bronzer but I prefer using it as a blush, I also have MAC's Gingerly and Sunbasque that I was using right before finding this little gem, and I can honestly say that I will never go back to them, Gingerly is so...blah, and Sunbasque is just too orange, too shimmery, too much. I was afraid to pick up this blush at first because it looks rather dark in the container but with a light hand looks pretty much perfect, I could not ask for more.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Well Dressed
silkybuns 8/4/2010 12:25:00 AM
Well Dressed, what can I say about you? I love you, you give me the most perfect natural pinky glowy cheeks, looks so beautiful on the pan and on my cheeks. I am an NC30 (35 in the summer) and a couple of years ago I had gone to the MAC counter and asked for this blush and the SA insisted that it would be too light for my skin tone and just look horrible one me. About a month ago, while browsing through product reviews, I read that Well Dressed did, indeed, work for NC30s and even darker. It took me about a week to make up my mind on whether I should get it or not because I kept thinking about what that stupid, stupid SA had told me years ago. So, I got in the car and drove myself to the nearest MAC counter and (afraid that the SA would try to talk me out of buying said blush) I asked for "Well Dressed blush please....for my, uh, friend" paid for my purchase and ran back to my car like a bat out of hell to apply my precious new blush. It did not look horrible...it looked beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, and I hated myself for having allowed that stooopid SA from steering me away from my sweet, beloved Well Dressed. This and Hard Candy Bombshell are the only two blushes I will ever need.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
silkybuns 8/4/2010 12:01:00 AM
Love the packaging, love the consistency, almost a perfect color match....but.....cannot wear as an under eye concealer because it creases something terrible and does not look natural.....so....I thought why not use it to cover redness on my cheeks...well, it covers amazingly well, on days in which it was too hot for foundation I would just put some Dream Mousse concealer on problem spots and dust lightly with my regular loose powder. Every day after having worn this concealer I would get new little red pimples that would now need to be concealed, so after about a week it became a vicious circle, the more I would wear the Dream Mousse, the more pimples I would get, the more concealer I would need. Alas, in the garbage it went. I think this would be an amazing under eye circle for someone much younger than me or someone who doesn't have sensitive/clog prone skin. Oh, Dream Concealer I really did try my hardest to love you but it was not meant to be.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
silkybuns 6/14/2010 4:20:00 PM
Good stuff! I've always had problem skin: sensitive, allergic, dry patches, clogged pores, enlarges pores on my cheeks, etc. I've tried just about every brand out there and this is the only foundation that does not clog my pores or irritate my skin, my skin has actually gotten so much better since I've been using it that I can actually see that my pores are smaller and I can even get away with not wearing foundation once in a while, the coverage is so good that I no longer need concealer. Expensive ($55 CAD) but I cannot imagine life without Silk Creme. I am an NC35 and I wear Sand Beige.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder
silkybuns 6/14/2010 4:09:00 PM
I've been wearing makeup for the past 20 years and this is the ONLY loose powder that does not : cake on me, clog my pores or irritate my skin. Totally translucent on my NC35 (summer) skin. Those who have said that it gives them look white are probably using too much of it, all you need is the tyniest bit. I buy the smallest jar available ($17 CAD) and it lasts forever. The only thing I do not like about this powder is the packaging, my small jar does not have a sifter, so I need to pour some onto the lid to make sure I don't get too much powder on my brush. Definite HG for me, will keep buying over and over.

Lipstick -Revlon - Color Burst in Carnation 025
silkybuns 6/11/2010 10:50:00 AM
This is my favorite shade out of the whole Color Burst collection, and I tried most of them. On my pigmented lips, it's a medium slightly raspberry pink, it truly brightens my face, a shade I would wear on a regular basis. As soon as I picked this up, I put it on in my car and it reminded me of a similar shade: Clinique Raspberry Glace, which is one shade darker, obviously shimmery and terrible consistency. I will toss my Raspberry Glace and replace it with my new beloved Carnation.
