BB Cream -Unlisted Brand - Hera - Multi Mineral Base BB cream
rated 4 of 5

I've always been interested in BB creams. The talks of them being multi-purpose products (concealer, foundation, moisturizer, sun protectant) intrigued me. I've tried several BB creams in the past and none of them have worked for me...they either broke me out, made me oily, or just made me look too pink or grey. I purchased this Hera BB cream whilst I was in Korea staying with a friend. She took me shopping to her local mall and told me this was a pretty good one...so I tried it out. Hera says this is an "All in one base containing naturally sourced minerals for silky smooth and shiny skin that looks likes it's fresh from a hot spring bath. It's a sun cream + make-up base + foundation".....all of this sounded good to me as I love smooth radiant looking skin. There are 3 shades available - No.13 Light Beige, No.21 Natural Beige, No.23 True Beige. I chose No.23 as it was the darkest, and I'm an NC37-42. It contains an SPF of 25 PA++ so the sun protection is decent. So after cleansing and applying my moisturizer in the morning, I put on this on. I dot it on my cheeks, nose, chin and forehead, then blend out. It blends really well - no streakiness or patchiness. I gives me a semi-matte finish, and if I don't set with powder it looks pretty dewy after about 10 minutes. As I have combo skin (oily t zone, normal cheeks) I do usually need to powder. If you have dry skin I don't think you'll need to though. It doesn't transfer easily -- doesn't rub off on my hands, clothes, phone etc. The consistency is light and spreads well - it's not thick, but it's not watery either. There is no oil control properties seeing as it’s a 'glowy' BB cream. As for lasting power, it's okay. I don't think this would last me all day but it does last a good couple of hours - perhaps 6. It sinks into the skin upon application so it's barely detectable. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm an NC37-42 so the colour is an issue for me. It makes my face look lighter, so I have a tan neck and white face. It looks odd, but I usually apply a bronzer or a bit of light foundation ontop of it just to add some colour. This BB cream doesn't look grey or pink on my skin like most others have though. This is a decent makeup base. I think my makeup goes on a little more easier and stays on a little bit longer. But it's nothing remarkable. I like that my face doesn't feel covered in makeup when I have this on. It can "breathe", so to speak. What I really don't like about this is the scent. It's SO STRONG AND OVERPOWERING...like perfume. The smell isn't horrible, it's just too damn strong for my liking. I can smell it on my face hours after I've put it on and I have to scrub my hands to get the scent off of them too otherwise it'll linger for ages. Also, this doesn't provide good coverage. I wasn't expecting good coverage as it's a BB cream, but if you have lots of blemishes I don't think this will cover it that well. I have a few acne scars on my chin and some pimples on my cheek but nothing major. If I use more than a pea size of this BB cream, it covers everything pretty well, but still lets the freckles on my nose show through. Overall I quite like this. I like the glowy finish it gives my skin, the SPF properties (I must confess - I buy BB creams mainly because of the SPF. Normal sunscreens just break me out) and it's very quick and easy to apply. No chance of cakiness or anything like that. I don't like the smell, and the shades don't have enough yellow in them for my liking. However, I'd probably repurchase.

Eye Makeup Remover -Boots - No7 Cleanse & Care Eye Make-up Remover
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/19/2010 9:41:00 AM

This is a pretty good eye makeup remover. My friend gave me a bottle because she thought I'd like it...and I've got to agree, I am liking it. I only need a TINY bit to remove eyeshadow/liner/mascara. It doesn't leave an oily layer on my eyes after using. The smell is quite plesant. No need for rubbing or tugging harshly at my eyes - this takes it off effortlessly...I'd definately repurchase.

Cleansers -SKII - Facial Treatment Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/16/2010 6:45:00 PM

I quite like this cleanser. I have sensitive skin that can't tolerate anything harsh and this causes me no irritation whatsoever. It's very gentle but my skin still feels clean after using it...not stripped, just clean. There is a slight rose fragrance, I usually hate anything that's rose scented but this is so light I barely notice it. I only need a little to cleanse my whole face. I'd probably repurchase - even though the price is heartbreaking!

Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/14/2010 12:53:00 PM

This is okay....my main problem is the colour selection. I'm an NC40-44 and I tried medium which was way too light...so then I used deep and it fitted my skintone a bit better but it was so pink toned that it made me resemble Mr.Blobby... It's lightweight but the ingredient list is abit too extensive for me to feel comfortable with. It spreads easily on moisturized skin and doesn't get too greasy on my combo oily skin if used ontop of primer and set with powder. The coverage is very light - but it offers a slight bit of coverage. At £9.99, it's too expensive for what it's worth. I wouldn't repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - rosy lips

Retails for £2...doesn't sound too bad, but for the results it gives me it's way overpriced! It doesn't do a good job of moisturizing my lips at all...they feel nice for a while after first applying but then it fades away and my lips are left feeling crusty =/ I like the rose tint though - gives my lips a very cute look.

Blush -Laneige - Snow Radiant Blusher - The Secret of Snow Crystal
rated 5 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/12/2010 12:10:00 PM

OMG this is a gorgeous highlighter! Don't know why Laneige call this a blush -- there's only 1 blush out of the 3 products released in this set. I have 01 Snow Prism and 03 Gold Prism. Both of them are really pretty - like MAC MSF's but less chunky glitter and more subtle shimmer. Snow Prism is really light...it's white with veinings of green/purple/yellow. I'm biracial with yellow undertones and this doesn't look too fake or light on me though. It looks like a glowy soft sheen more than anything, with multi-coloured fine shimmer. It doesn't look obvious on my skin -- in direct light, you might see the shimmer, but in normal lighting or at nighttime is just looks like 'glow'. Gold Prism is very nice also - it looks even more natural than snow prism. True to the name, it's a very very light gold with some dusty rosy pinky colouring and some lighter creamy beige veining. This is shimmery too - less shimmery than snow prism - but there still is shimmer there. I love dusting these over my cheekbones or down the bridge of my nose. Makes my face look slimmer and more radiant. No breakouts or irritation. Packaging is very cute also. These are 10 times better than MAC MSF's!

Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/12/2010 8:24:00 AM

Quite like this...I never usually use concealers as all the ones I've tried in the past look cakey or dry my skin out. I use this one for blemishes - it covers them and doesn't cake up. I like the formula but you have to blend quickly. Doesn't break me out, and the colour range is pretty good too. I've used this on my undereye circles before and it did a decent job, but I found it faded quite quick there and sunk into my lines....I think it didn't work well because my undereye circles are quite oily!!! Packaging seems good but you actually waste a lot of product because the applicator can't reach it all...but for the price, it's not that big a deal. Would rate this 3.5 lippies instead of 4

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/11/2010 9:54:00 AM

I tried this in the past and hated it. I used to have oily skin and this would just turn me into a greasy frying pan within minutes. However - winter is now here and my skin has changed...it's more combo *oily t zone, normal cheeks* with some flakyness in some places. I decided to try this foundation out again due to my change in skintype. First things first - you get a huge ass bottle for your money. 120ml is sure to last a lifetime (although you should chuck it out after 2 years of course!). I use the colour C6 for my NC40-42 skin and it's a good match. I've also tried C5 and it's a pretty good match too -- the colours are very forgiving in this range. The coverage is super sheer and gives me a natural look...something which I love. I've grown to hate the 'I have foundation on' look and love anything that looks true-to-the-skin. I have some freckles on my nose and this lets them show through. However, it does cover up my blemishes suprisingly well. I have some acne scaring on my chin and I can hardly see them when I wear this. Sheer yet covers...who would've thought?! I wear this ontop of an oil-control primer and set with powder. Ontop of my HG primer I don't get overly oily, perhaps just dewy throughout the day. I only have to blot once or twice with blot paper in an 8 or so hour period which is good. Best of all - it doesn't make me breakout. I have very acne-prone skin so that's a very good sign. I think this is fast becoming my HG foundation. I love it!

I'm an NC40-44 tan skinned and yellow undertoned...and this lipstick just looks so orange on me. Staying power isn't decent either...I don't like it.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - thrrrob
rated 1 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/9/2010 11:10:00 AM

Don't like this at all. On my tan yellow undertoned NC40-42 skin this did not show up AT ALL. All you could see was shimmer. Stupidly expensive for just shimmer...not to mention, it had some weird fragrance that I didn't like. For pale girls this might work, but for others probably not.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Warm Soul
rated 2 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/7/2010 9:36:00 AM

Think I'm the minority on this blush...I don't like it. Granted, it looks pretty nice in the pot (a slightly peachy pinky brown colour?) but it just DOES NOT show up on my NC40-44 tan yellow undertoned skin. All that shows up is fine shimmer. I'm not paying over £10 for nothing but shimmer, regardless whether it's from a brand like MAC or not.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/7/2010 6:57:00 AM

This is a decent foundation. I tried it a few years ago and hated it...but that was back in the day when I was new to makeup and didn't prep my skin properly. I recently repurchased it again in hopes of making it work for me. I have the shade sun bronze, which fits my NC40-44 tan yellow undertoned skin quite well. It's a bit too light but a bit of powder over it sorts everything out. The shade selection is extensive and I think most people would be able to find a shade that suits them okay. The texture is obviously a mousse, and I actually like it. You have to apply this on moisturized skin otherwise it'll go on flaky and patchy. Ontop of moisturizer, it just glides on easily. I like using this ontop of a primer a lot of the time aswell. I have combo / oily skin and this leaves me looking nice and matte. When used ontop of primer and set with powder it doesn't oil up much on me at all. Lasting power is ok - it doesn't last ALL day but it lasts long enough for me to stay out for 6 hours or so without worrying if my foundation has faded. Coverage is good - not heavy and thick, but not too sheer either. It looks pretty natural on me. The packaging isn't that sanitary but how else would you package mousse? Just make sure you wash your hands before dipping your fingers in there ;) Overall I like this foundation and would probably repurchase.

Liquid -Maybelline - Dream Liquid Mousse
rated 4 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/7/2010 6:50:00 AM

I'm actually quite liking this foundation. I was sick of all the HE foundations breaking me out and looking like crap on my skin so thought I'd go back to DS brands. I was nervous about trying this as I remembered reading several reviews saying how this got really greasy and oily on some people's skin (I have combo oily skin and my skin oils up very easily) so thought I'd stay away...but seeing as it was on special offer for £5.99 I thought I''d give it a go. What I really like is the naural coverage this gives me. I hate foundations with heavy or thick coverage so the fact that this foundation just looked like my own skin was good. It doesn't provide much coverage but I don't mind - I'm the sort of girl who lets her blemishes shine through ;) It spreads really easily but make sure to moisturize first. I usually apply ontop of a primer but even without primer it just glides on effortlessly. Lasting power is okay - it lasts all day ontop of primer and with setting powder ontop, although it does tend to fade on my upper lip...it doesn't get oily if I use it ontop of primer. If I'm going somewhere fancy I like to put this foundation ontop of the original dream matte mousse foundation so I get coverage from the mousse but a more natural looking texture from the liquid version. The bottle is very sanitary. I haven't experienced any breakouts or irritation from this foundation, and that means something because I have very acne-prone sensitive skin. The colour selection here in the UK is ok, although I find them to not have enough yellow undertones in them. I'm an NC40-44 tan skinned and yellow undertoned but luckily I found a shade that suited me quite well. I'd definately repurchase this. :)

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 1 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/7/2010 6:42:00 AM

This foundation is disgusting. I can honestly say that I don't like anything about it. I was matched with an NC44 for my tan yellow undertoned skin...it's orange and has no yellowness at all. NC42 was too light and anything above NC44 was too dark so that pretty much sucked. The coverage is really thick and heavy...it looks like a mask. I felt so self concious wearing this foundation it's unbelievable. The gel texture sounds good in theory but it's thick and drys too quickly on my skin. You have to apply on REALLY well moisturized skin otherwise it'll look flaky. It always seemed to look patchy on my cheeks no matter how I applied it - brush, fingers, sponge...you name it. Not only that, but it breaks me out with huge whiteheads every time I used it. I have combo skin (oily t zone normal/dry cheeks) and this got so greasy on my entire face. If I wear it ontop of a primer it doesn't get too greasy but still....I'm annoyed that I paid over £22 for this foundation, I wouldn't even pay £5 for it. The ironic thing is - when it's on my face, it transfers really easily off on everything...yet when I try to wash it off, it takes 2 rounds of oil cleanser and another 2 rounds of normal cleanser to take it off.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Creamy Foundation
rated 2 of 5
mu5icbtch 1/6/2010 8:45:00 AM

Hmmm...I'm not into this foundation. It is suited for dry to normal skins - although my skin is combo (oily t zone, normal/dry cheeks) I thought I'd try it out. First off, the colour selection is so bad...it only caters to light skintones. They have like 5 or 6 shades available or something? Ridiculous. I'm an NC40-44 and all shades were too light. The texture is really moist...almost wet...it's not, creamy, it's just moist. It oiled up on my skin but I was sort of expecting it to as it's just so moist. You don't get a lot of product. If you have dry skin this will probably work out ok for you. It doesn't provide much covergage.
