Powder -Everyday Minerals - IT Base
mountaingem 1/28/2012 7:20:00 PM
Seriously, this is supposed to be a replacement for Intensive? Not even close. Epic fail for Everyday Minerals. First of all, the coverage sucks-yes it's buildable but it takes the right brushes and ALOT of patience and time. The color also comes out weird. I have used Fair in the Original and Matte, as well as Intensive formulas, and the color stayed true, just the formula changed. Well, this has an odd, orangey cast that is NOT flattering. The Intesive formula used to be a concealer for me, since Everyday Minerals has limited their color line for the concealers as well. I will definitely not repurchase this-terrible! I will stay with the Original, which actually has much better coverage now than the IT formula. As for when I need a heavier coverage, I'm gonna search elsewhere. I wonder how many customers they have lost over this.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - PM
mountaingem 12/16/2011 12:57:00 AM
I've had this product for a week and so far I'm cautiously liking it. By that I mean I've been burned by so many moisturizers I like a bit of a breaking in period, I guess. So far no breakouts and really soothing to my Tazorac and winter-ravaged face. At first it stung but I figured it was because of how sensitive and dried out my face was, and this definitely has improved the look and feel of my skin. Plays nicely with the Tazorac; no breakouts or milia so far. A bit pricey for drugstore but the quality is much higher than the price lets on. .

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength in Champagne Toast
mountaingem 12/16/2011 12:52:00 AM
This is awesome nail polish! First the color is a gorgeous nude, perfect for my Scandanavian pale NW15 skin color. It so hard to find nudes that do not wash out/or look like skin on me-but this has a beautiful pearl with just the slightest hint of lavender undertone. This is a great dupe for Zoya Minka and only $3.99 at Target! Also the major drugstore chains run Buy one, get one 50%-so for around 6 bucks you can get two!!! It wears really well-when applied without base or topcoat, I got a solid 5 day wear before it started to chip, and that was with constant dish washing and cleaning. With base and top coat it lasted 7+days-perfect, no chips! HG color and wear for me!

Styling Products -Aussie - Aussome Volume Spray Gel
mountaingem 12/16/2011 12:43:00 AM
LOVE this so much! Finally a spray gel that gives volume without stiffness or crunchiness. It defines curls and waves, but can also be blown out straight without fuzziness or sacrificing the volume. HG for me!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Acne Free All-Day Acne Control Leave On Foam
mountaingem 7/13/2011 2:05:00 PM
First, about me-at 38 years old, my skin is sensitive and easily irritated by acne products. This foam is very gentle, very minimally drying and much more effective for me than Proactiv or Acne.org. It also works great under makeup and sunscreen. Absorbs very quickly, doesn't streak or melt off, which in Los Angeles in July is nothing short of a miracle.HG all the way!!! Love this product so much, and at $7.99 I'm stocking up.

Bath Treatments -Aveeno - oatmeal bath
mountaingem 3/22/2011 3:00:00 PM
Overall a great product for soothing my rashy, irritated skin. But as another reviewer mentioned, a little overpriced and definitely will clog the drain. My solution is to put the oatmeal powder in a clean dry knee high stocking and knot the end, then place in a full tub of warm water. It sort of steeps the oatmeal in the bath, like a tea bag. I'm thinking of trying this with instant oatmeal-much cheaper.

Treatments -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Rosehips Hibiscus Scar Cream - 86% Organic
mountaingem 12/22/2010 4:44:00 PM
I was desperate to heal the acne scars I have from several years' worth of hormonal acne. I can't tolerate the products that fade scars with hydroquinone, it's just too irritating. So I went to MUAC and found this along with Glycolic/Lactic peels and thought I'd give it a try. All I have to say is WOW!!! I've been using this twice a day for 6 weeks and already see a great improvement in both the red marks left behind and the darker scars. It smells wonderful and it's a very light natural fragrance, not overpowering at all, doesn't bother allergies. It feels wonderful on, not heavy but very soothing and moisturizing, and the best part is it doesn't break out my skin! It also works fantastic as a base lotion before applying Tazorac-it's the pnly thing that soothes the irritation, and works with the Tazorac, in my opinion. LOVE IT! HG all the way! Ingredients: Aloe barbadesis (organic aloe vera) juice, Hibiscus sp, flower extract, cocus nucifers (Organic Coconut) oil, Rosa Mosqueta (Rosehip) Seed Oil, kosher vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax nf, stearic acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), phenoxyethanol, DMAE Bitartrate, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Calcium d-Pantothenate (Pro Vitamin B5), Beta Carotene (Pro Vitamin A), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), xanthan gum, Rosemary, neem oil, tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid.

Bath Treatments -Olay - Ultra Moisture In-shower Body Lotion with Shea Butter
mountaingem 11/28/2010 2:32:00 PM
Total HG status! This is THE go-to product for my dry, itchy overly sensitive skin. Nothing has helped my KP like this product-I used to have it on my thighs and upper arms; after using this for a month, it's practically non-existent now. I take chemo on a weekly basis and this is so soothing to the drying effects of the medication. The smell is O.K., but who cares with such great results! I will cry if they ever stop making this.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Beautiful
mountaingem 11/25/2010 2:50:00 PM
This was my first "grown up" perfume-a gift from my grandma when I was 16. I don't know why this generates so many negative old lady comments-I'm 38 and love it. Stop the hating on older ladies in reviews-they teach us plenty, and besides what's wrong with smelling like a sophisticated woman? I've used this over the years as my signature fragrance and always get lots of complements-and men love it too. My husband always buys this for me as one of our anniversary gifts, he loves it and says it reminds him of when we were dating. (I know, gag, lol)

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Grapeseed oil
mountaingem 11/25/2010 2:40:00 PM
Grapeseed oil, how do I love thee? This is great as a makeup remover, as many here have said. It is super gentle, soothing...it's almost like a remover and a treatment in one. My acne prone skin has no issues with it, seems be normalizing my oil production, too. I was using baby oil for my mega waterproof mascara/sunblock removal (which I still keep on standby), but it was making my eyelashes fall out! This actually seems to be making my eyelashes grow longer, and I don't have the eyelashes coming out with the mascara removal anymore. Even my husband noticed the difference when I had no mascara on...I'm sold. Of course it's not really packaged the best, I buy organic in bulk in the cooking department, then transfer to a smaller bottle.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil
mountaingem 11/25/2010 1:41:00 PM
This is my go-to winter skin treatment. I use it two-three times a week as a deep treatment, along with Vaseline Intensive Rescue. I know all the haters can't stant mineral oil, the main ingredient in this, but this saves my skin every year. I also use it as a waterproof eye makeup remover, no tugging or pulling, all-clean in two sweeps of a cotton ball.

Eye Shadow -Ulta - Twilight
mountaingem 11/25/2010 1:36:00 PM
Love this color so much! My eyes are a teal blue/green color and this makes for a great twist on a smokey eye. I use it on both top of lid and bottom lashline for daytime. If I want something more dramatic, I use it with black eyeliner and loads of Maybelline Falsies mascara. The only thing that sucks is there is no applicator, nor anyplace to store your own.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Flavor Savers Lip Balm - Strawberry
mountaingem 11/25/2010 1:31:00 PM
I LOVE THESE! I've been using them since I was a teenager. They are great alone or under lipsticks I find too drying. I also mix them with lip pencil for my own version of long-wear lipcolor. Great flavors, too!

Treatments -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream
mountaingem 11/25/2010 1:26:00 PM
The cream itself was just as the other posters said, feels great on, absorbs quickly, with a high-end feel. I like everything about it at first. But unfortunately, after two weeks of trying to make this work for me, I had to give it up. I broke out in terrible acne, so I thought well, it has a BHA in it, maybe I'm purging. Wrong. I ended up with whiteheads, cysts, and dermatitis. I think this might have been some sort of allergic reaction, because I took a course of prednisone for asthma and it cleared my skin right up.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

Wow. I picked this up to help cover up a small hormonal breakout and POOF my face exploded. The glittery things in it didn't help the look of my skin either; it seemed oily and magnified my zits....not what I wanted lol! So I'm gonna go with NO on this one.
