i've always been a huge fan of MAC Hug Me. it's my fave pink nude or neutral lippie for my skintone. i'm NC 30-35, a light tan color, dark brown eyes and hair. but i started looking for a more peach hued nude or neutral color. and i know freckletone would do well for that. as i swatched it in store, it looks dull on my hand. on the lips, it's a different story. my lips are quite a dull color (pale pink mauve) despite my warm color and freckletone made my lips look like a healthy peach color with hints of pink like those colors in ads. i use this often as it easily balances out heavy eye makeup or natural look. :) color: warm light neutral peach with hints of brown formula: lustre. so it's sheer and glossy. a fave formula of mine. lasting power: not bad if it's judged based on the sheer formula. would i buy again? yeahh. the color compliments me very well.
i love Gray Suede. i'm sceptical of the gray name because i have strong warm undertones eventho i'm fair-medium so gray don't usually look good on my nails. but in the bottle it seems like a pretty nude color. i was hesitating between this and Creme brulee but gray suede looks prettier and more chic. color: it's a nude color with slightly pale peach-mauve undertones. it's not a warm color definitely but suits my warm skintone. very nice neutral color on nails. with micro-fine shimmer. there's just something about gray suede that screams chic to me. :) application: well, it's okay i guess. but it could be improved. 2 coats would be opaque enough. i sort of like Revlon polishes. price: seriously it's cheap. worth it. this is a great color to wear for most ocassion. i'm just happy i found this awesome color. i would buy it again for sure.
i got a small bottle of this. it was love at first sniff. i'm quite picky when it comes to perfume. but this one is just perfect. it's not those general floral or fruity scents that every brand has been making. i'm not a pro when it comes to identifying notes, but i can detect some musk, sandalwood & vanilla. i would describe it as oriental with a touch of floral. the lasting power is great. this scent is quite strong but doesn't give me a headache. it sounds silly but i feel sexy & confident when i wear it. a guy in my class complimented me on this perfume. but then, something tragic happened. i dropped the bottle & it broke to pieces on the floor. it's all gone now. i think this scent is discontinued. but i'm gonna hunt another bottle of this no matter what. it's one of my HG perfume definitely.
Lip Treatments -Clinique - Superbalm Raspberry Tint
misz93 1/19/2011 12:38:00 AM
i always have dry & chapped lips. since i'm bored with applying my fave Nivea lipbalm (blue tube),i wanted a very moisturising gloss and balm. this is like 2 in 1 product. it's moisturising & makes your lips so glossy. i wear this everyday. superbalm has this gel-like texture. this makes your lips luscious because of the high shine it provides. colour: this looks like a raspberry color in the tube but verrrrry sheer on the lips. just makes your lips slightly brighter than the natural color. it's like a translucent pink color. stickiness: slightly sticky. but definitely less sticky than my MAC,BB and Revlon super lustrous glosses. you also get a lot of product in the tube & the price is very reasonable compared to my other glosses. always have this with me everywhere i go. a definite HG for me!
i'm sorry but Up The Amp just doesn't work on me. i've been getting many recs of this lippie for my skintone. i was excited as this is such a unique & beautiful color in the tube. i thought it would show up as pinky purple. On my lips,it's straight up purple. no pink undertone at all. it looks disastrous against my warm toned yellow skin. i don't see any pretty pinkish purple hue that i see on other people pics wearing this lippie. formula/finish: Amplified Creme. one of my fave finishes in MAC line of lipsticks. great pigmentation, beautiful finish. staying power: great. color: looks like creamy purple in the tube. with Up The Amp,you gotta TRY it on first before buying. this lippie is the type which takes your coloring & pigmentation of lips into account whether it'll look fabulous or downright crap on lips. i think this will work wonderful with fair or dark skin, just not my tan NC35 skin with yellow/golden tones.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
misz93 12/26/2010 11:43:00 PM
Olive oil is seriously great for my hair & skin. i mainly use EVOO as my hair mask, twice a week. i just put & massage olive oil through my hair, let it sit there for 30mins - 1 hour. then,i wash my hair with my regular shampoo & conditioner. i have no problem in getting the oil off from my scalp & hair when washing. i also have not experienced any breakout when using this. EVOO made my hair moisturized, smooth, shiny & frizz-free. seriously what hair product can do that in one go? after washing the hair,i let them to air dry. it made my slightly wavy hair look luscious & healthy. i also use EVOO as m/u remover. i prefer my m/u remover than EVOO. but when i run out of my remover,EVOO gets the job done without leaving any traces. no problem in removing waterproof mascara too. then,i just follow up with my facial cleanser. also works as moisturizer for dry & cracked lips. i mix with sugar & scrub the flaky skin off. cheap stuff & can be used in so many ways. what's not to love?
this is the first Rimmel mascara that does not disappoint me. Glam Eyes was useless. Pros: gives me volume, seperate & define my lashes. very black color. i like the brush, not huge like it would stick to your eyeball. does not smudge. it's clump-free on my lashes too. Cons: does not curl that well. Price: reasonable,or i would even say cheap. i buy it when it's 20% off. Packaging: hot pink tube! love it. it's just adorable. Still can't beat my Maybelline Volume Express WP tho.
Hue looks gorgeous in the tube. i bet this is complimentary to many m/u looks. Color: a nudish baby pink color. Formula: Glaze. sheer & glossy. no shimmer. smooth when applied. but make sure your lips are not dry. Staying Power: sucks. this lippie looks gorgeous on the right skintone. However,it washes me out like hell on my yellow warm toned skin. i looked like a zombie. (NC35-40). another factor could be my semi-pigmented pink-mauve lips. i was hoping this is going to look like a light baby pink or pink nude on me. As for that,MAC Creme Cup fits the bill beautifully. i won't repurchase. i think this would look good on neutral & cool skintone.
while VG Gaga looks like crap on my very warm toned skin,VG Cyndi is a whole different story. it looks like a bright coral-ish red in the tube. no shimmer. however,it translates to a sheer & glossy strawberry red on my semi-pigmented lips. it compliments my NC35-40 skin very well. love it. it made me look like i have very pigmented lips, not OTT at all. just make you sure you dont have dry lips before applying this lipstick. packaging: i love the packaging. the red & black bullet case is awesome. the signature of Cyndi Lauper on the tube of the lipstick is even better. formula: i love Lustres. they are sheer & buildable, glossy & not drying. the texture is very smooth when applying it. staying power: in this department,it quite suck. the formula is nice but the staying power could have been better i think. my mum is a fan of Cyndi Lauper,i should repurchase another tube of VG Cyndi for her i think. quite sad it's only going to be available for a year though. Could be a great beginner's red for those who are shy.
my mom gave this perfume to me. well, the smell is too strong & borderline masculine for me. Plus, the notes are too complex & it doesn't smell that good on me. I prefer Chanel Chance the best. this probably would 'click' with someone who loves warm & strong borderline masculine scent. the staying power is good tho.
BB Apricot is one of my HG blushes. this is the brightest color of the bunch from BB,even Poppy, the red blush looks more muted than Apricot. this baby is a warm toned coral-ish hot pink. What i love about BB blushes are: Pros: very pigmented, easy to blend,it's matte but makes you glowy. easy to layer & it last ALL day. Cons: well,i wish it's cheaper..=p this makes me glow,a warm toned glow. i apply it with a light hand. i'm NC40. I think every medium & tan skin ladies should have this.
2N is a warm nude lipglass. Mainly beige-peach color with hint pf pink. not too much pink or too much beige, just equally balance. It's a cream finish type of lipglass. I specifically love this on top of my MAC Hug Me or Brave New Bronze lipstick. When worn alone,it mutes my semi pigmented lips without making me look like a dehydrated zombie. Lasting power & shine are good. i like it,but don't fall in love with it. So,i don't think i would repurchase again. This would look seriously hot with smokey eyes though. MAC comparison: darker & warmer than Wildly Lush plushglass but lighter than Lust lipglass. I'm NC40,dark brown-black hair & eyes.
Big Baby is a peach lipgloss with a pink tone to it,coated with soft mcro-fine shimmer. the pigmentation is sheer, but i like how it make my lips look more dimensional & healthy looking. (the color of my semi pigmented lips are dull). this is perfect to wear alone & i love to layer it over nude, pink & peach l/s. sticky factor: not bad. Plushglass formula is not as heavy as Lipglass. kinda in between Lustreglass & Lipglass. (lustreglass is most comfy in the MAC line imo) plumping: well,it kinda tingles on your lips for 1 minute, nothing extreme. doesn't see any difference as i already have full lips. dupe: this is nearly identical to MAC Love Nectar lustreglass. very similar.
I raised my brows skeptically when i first saw this lippie at the MAC store. It looks dull *yawn* & too brown. swatched it on my hand. A common glossy pink, still i bought it anyway. i'm the kinda gal who looks dead without lipstick.Tried it at home, and BAM i have healthy pink glossy lips. My full lips are semi pigmented but the natural color are dull, sort of pink-mauve,eww. Hug Me makes my puckers look great. It's a no fussy lippie. HG! it's the PERFECT MLBB. it suits all looks, always have it with me. the color is borderline nude & MLBB,that's why it's very wearable for most skintone. i prefer to wear it alone but sometimes i like pairing it with MAC 2N lipglass. Please dont ever discontinue this shade. Pros: pretty color, glossy, moisturising, darn wearable Cons: staying power could be better, but hey with the awesome color & glossiness,i'll tolerate with it..;)
Lip Gloss -Sephora - Super Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bronzed Beauty
misz93 2/18/2010 9:34:00 PM
i received this as an extra in a swap. Bronzed Beauty has a very striking resemblance to MAC Lovechild lipglass in the tube. it's a plummy color with gold & copper shimmer. Surprisingly,i like this gloss. it's a no fussy lipgloss. Just put it on & i'm good to go. but of course, this gloss can't beat my fave d/s gloss which is Revlon superlustrous. Pros: nice color & shimmer eventho on the sheerer side. comfy to wear on lips. i would say this is more comfy to wear than Rimmel gloss (tacky feeling on lips imo) & more lightweight on lips than MAC lipglass. Cons: smell (a bit too sweet & artificial but it doesn't linger),pigmentation could be better.
