Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Lily Eau de Parfum

I'm loving this! It's the original Angel with slightly less patchouli and more pronounced notes of lily, chocolate, and honey! Beautiful! The bottle is absolutely gorgeous too!

The best Frankincense and Myrrh scent. Nothing else compares. I'm so sad to see it discontinued. At least I stocked up when I found out!

Fragrances -Caron - Tubereuse
midnightc 4/26/2005 8:44:00 PM
As a huge fan of tuberose, I will compare Caron's Tuberose with the others that I've tried instead of describing the scent by itself. Caron initially has the bright, sweet notes of MPG's Tubereuse (w/o the musk) and SMN's Tuberosea. This is my favorite part of the fragrance. The middle notes remind me of L'Artisan's Tubereuse, where the Gardenia-like richness comes to the forefront. It's a subtle, but definite change from the "sweet tart" phase of the beginning. Several hours later, the dry down is slightly soapy. It's nice but there is an unmistakable "self tanner stench" that permeates the soapiness. Actually, as I wear this fragrance ito it's 4th hour on my skin, the scent of self tanner is becoming more and more powerful! I was going to give this 4 lippies for the beautiful beginning but I change my mind: I will never wear this because the beginning and middle is not worth it if I have to put up with the dry down!

Lotions/ Creams -Aquolina - Latte Corpo - Zucchero a Velo (icing sugar)

Yum! I use this when I'm going to layer it with a sweet, gourmand fragrance or when I simply want a "comfort scent" on a casual day with no perfume. It's not overly sweet, but smells like "real" food. It doesn't smell synthetic either. Heavenly!

Treatments -Redken - Extreme Anti Snap OLD FORMULA see 143469 for new [REFORMULATED]
midnightc 4/22/2005 3:09:00 PM
I've had a bottle of this stuff sitting around my house for about 6 months before I really paid any attention to it. I've tried it here and there and really didn't notice a difference. Well, about a month ago I "went blonde" and my hair felt very rough and dry, even after several protein and moisturizing treatments. I started usig the Anti-Snap and I can't believe the difference! I didn't notice it for the first few tries but, after a week, the most amazing transformation occured! The texture of my hair has radically changed from course to super-silky and smooth! I am extremely happy with this product and will continue to use it indefinately!

Great brush! I've been using it for about a year and I will never go without it. It holds up extremely well after washing every day and is super-soft! Well worth the money!

Absolutely gorgeous! I've been looking forever for a honey scent that doesn't turn musty on me. This is it! It starts of with a strong honey note and then slowly turns sweet, woody, and slightly powdery (in a good way). A must-try!

Fragrances -Yosh - Ginger Ciao

As I wear this fragrance I am instantly reminded of my most sensual, fragrant, and delicious cooking experience- the making of Thai Red Curry. Stay with me for a moment! Several years ago I began making the Curry from scratch, as taught to me by a Thai friend. I hand-grate the coconut meat and sqeeze the milk with my own hands; I ground the cumin, home-grown chiles, lemongrass, galangal, tumeric, cardamon, etc.; and cook the Curry the traditional Thai way. Doing all of this creates an amazing sensory experience that is absolutely intoxicating! This is what Ginger Ciao smells like to me! Upon application, I am immediately hit with a sweet, milky coconut. Slowly, it morphs into a spice market of cumin and chile! Mind you, not the sweaty cumin of Alexander McQueen and those other scents, but REAL cumin- freshly ground in a mortar. Hot, hot, hot. This stays on my skin for quite a while until the ginger slowly emerges. It is very subtle and slightly floral. The dry down goes back to the initial bust of coconut in the opening and has a Monyette-like floral butteriness to it. This remains on my skin for at least 12 hours and actually intensifies as I wear it! I've never had a fragrance do that before. Highly recommended for at least a test-drive!

Lotions/ Creams -Agent Provocateur - Body Sauce
midnightc 3/9/2004 7:24:00 PM
Wow! This is great stuff! Very sexy and spicey, but after a few hours, turns into a gorgeous "skin" scent. I didn't like the EDP because it smelled much too masculine for me. But the Body Sauce is slightly sweeter, with more saffron coming out in the base. Plus, it gives off a nice, subtle shimmer that makes my skin glow (not sparkle). I can see myself wearing this a lot in the summer, on a very balmy Michigan night by the lake!

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15

Love, love, love!!! Super-moisturizing and you don't need to reapply it often (which is a good thing because it still disappears relatively fast compared to other balms). The scent is amazing! The only complaint is, of course, the price. Therefore, it has to be an occasional indulgence instead of a daily staple. :(

I just love this! It smells fabulous, works like a charm, doesn't leave a white film, and doesn't burn my sensitive skin! Expensive but seriously worth it!

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
midnightc 2/13/2004 12:22:00 PM
First, the very large brush is way too huge for my small eyes. When I try to put the wand at the base of my lashes, the mascara ends up all over my eye lids instead. The formula is EXTREMELY thick and tends to clump. And since the brush is so big, I have to use another one to comb out the clumps. But my biggest complaint is that the formula tends to spike my perfectly curled eye lashes. I suppose it is too heavy for them even though I have very thick, long lashes. And this is supposed to be a curling mascara? I much prefer mascaras from L'Oreal.

Cleansers -Epicuren Discovery - Gelle Cleanser
midnightc 1/9/2004 2:18:00 PM
My all-time favorite cleanser. It is a gel cleanser that foams nicely and smells of apricot. It does a fabulous job of removing grime and makeup without over-drying my skin. It never burns my super-sensitive skin, unlike most cleansers. Definately worth the money.

Fragrances -Caron - Parfum Sacre
midnightc 12/17/2003 6:49:00 PM
I've had a difficult time "getting" Caron scents and Parfum Sacre is no exception. On me, it is harsh black pepper that turns to a cold, powdery, soapy mess. How black pepper can smell "cold," I have no idea! I've tried layering it with other scents and have had no luck.
