Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]

Not impressed by this product. Settled into my lines, cakey looking. The color was odd. Would not buy again!
I have been wanting a dark blue for quite some time. Everytime I would try one on, it would look odd on me, the color was not quite right. I had all but given up. I saw the swatches for the Vintage Vixens and I was intrigued by Midnight Mission. It was definately blue, but had that silver cast to it. I called my local Sally's and I got three of the Vintage Vixens colors before they were put out on the floor. I am so glad I gave this a chance, it is super pretty on, and very flattering for my skin tone. It is a true blue, that would not be mistaken for black. Maybe call it a frosty navy? Application was smooth, and easy. I like it so much that I put it on my fingers and toes. On a side note, I was much more excited about the China Glaze fall collection than the one from OPI with a Switzerland theme. I also found out the Vintage Vixens collection never hit the floor at my Sally's, it sold out from the backroom.
Misc Beauty Tools -Tweezerman - Metal Eye Lash Comb
meowfish97 6/30/2010 12:54:00 PM
I had a Sonia Kashuk comb from target, not a metal one, the plastic one. I kept trying to use it, and could not figure out how a comb could take the clumps out of lashes when I literally had to force it down on the lashes to even have it pull some out, thus making a mess everywhere with wet mascara. So I did some research, and decided I needed a sharp metal comb. I bought my Tweezerman at Sally's, and I am so happy with the results. It is sharp (very sharp), but it glides effortless through my lashes and pulls the clumps out, my lashes look longer with this little tool. I would highly recomend this to anyone else who has struggle with the plastic combs, the teeth are just too big, and not spaced out to work properly.
I have been using this product for 4 weeks. Week 1-Nothing, I did not expect improvement however, so not concerned. Week 2-Nothing, once again not surprised, kept applying. Week 3- Nothing, slightly concerned as I thought I would see at least some fullness. Week 4-Everything: Lashes longer, fuller, healthy, less fall out. In one word: Amazed My routine has been to put this on only at night, as I was afraid of it clumping my masacara, I am going to be brave some morning, and try it under. My eyes never burned with this treatment, and my eye skin tends to be the only senestive part of my face, no reaction whatsoever, no redness, no eczema, no rash. Tube is not huge, but you don't use that much with one application, and I see this lasting for quite sometime. I was apprehensive about the cost as it seemed alot for a product that might not work. Considering now that I know it does work, and that you don't use that much, it is a great value. I bought mine at Walgreens so I could return if saw no improvement.
I have used this soap for 15 plus years. I sometimes stray, because I think of course more expensive must mean better results. Well, I tend to finish the expensive stuff, not impressed and go back to my bar. It cleans my skin beautifully, does not make me break out, and is very inexpensive. It does dissolve fast, so I make sure I leave it somewhere it won't be in constant contact with water, and can dry out between uses. In the summer I use it twice a day, but in the winter I will only us it once a day, usually at night, because it can cause your skin to dry out. I just adore this bar, and I guess my nose is immune to the stink now, because I don't really notice it, but I do remember it being off putting when I first tried it.
Lips -Palladio - Lip Ink Extra Long Wearing Lip Stain
meowfish97 5/29/2010 11:45:00 AM
I bought three of these, one of course promptly lost by DD's. But the two I have left Nude and I think it is berry, are great. I like the marker application, as it is easy to control, and really does go on nicely. As someone said before you can control the amount of stain, and it does not on garishly. Also I was kinda freaked out the first time I opened the marker, because it looked so dark, so I used it the first time on a weekend, and it was perfect (I am referring to the Nude). So the color on the tube, and the color on the tip are not indicative of the color when it goes on. The nude is light berry brown, more brown than berry obviously. I am really glad I tried these...now I am going to search for the MIA one.
Blush -Revlon - Floral Affair Blush in Pinking of You
meowfish97 4/23/2010 3:46:00 PM
I RIS this product, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. It is not a creamy blush that you can swip with your finger and get a good example of the color, so I really thought I had gotten a chalky dud. But....when I used my densely packed ELF powder brush with it, it picked up the color, and it was very easy to blend on my cheeks. I was looking for a true pink matte blush, and this totally fits the bill. So happy I swapped for this discontinued product.
Concealers -Lancome - Flash Retouche ] [DISCONTINUED]

I bought this instead of my tried and true Effacernes - Concealer. I was hoping it would be what YSL Iluminating Pen was/is touted to be, but I was not impressed. I didn't see any concealing or brightning. I ended up taking back. I like new products, but this was a bust for me. For reference I am very pale, and the color match was good, just didn't do anything for my dark circles, and didn't brighten my complexion.
The is the only Benefit product that has delivered for me, and I am really glad I have this little pencil. If I have days where I can't do my normal full face, I will put this on, and it gives my eyes some POP. I really like to team it with my black eyeliner, and light pink blush, and pink lips. I am a PPP for reference. I love the packaging and marketing for benefit products, but unfortunately none have worked as well as this little gem.
I have been using this foundation for about two weeks, so I have given it time to break me out, etc. I really like it. I have tried two different methods for application, one is the stipling method (thank you MUA for for directing me to a Youtube video on how to correctly do this). I have also used my flat foundation brush. I like the results more from the foundation brush, but I have to be careful that I blend, it has come up streaky more than once. The color is a great match, I find it does make me oily after a few hours unless I prime first (I have been using monistat chafing cream). It does give a nice diffused look, and I don't see the disco ball effect. For a drugstore makeup I was really surprised!
Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Blush Brush
meowfish97 3/16/2010 7:43:00 PM
I have had this brush for 4 months, it is a mess! Sheds, sheds, sheds. It also is not retaining it's shape. I will be taking this back, very disappointed.
Love this color....and the product is really good for the price. I am so excited that I finally colored mascara that shows up. Mark has some great products so glad I tried this......!
I am new to painting and taking care of my nails. Last year I tackled my skin care regimen, got my skin under control. This year it is my nails. Ok that being said I have been reading the nail board, and I was blown away by the amount of colors one could pick...just blown away. I really wanted a color like OPI I am not really waitress (I have worn this w/acrylics) and on my toes and I loved it. I know I digress...sorry. So I went to Beyond Beauty with the intent of buying the OPI, but I also needed some other things. When I started to add things up in my head I decided that I needed a cheaper alternative. So I started to look for smaller or cheaper polish. I saw this Color Club display, and I thought why not? So anyway this was the red that kept grabbing my attention, but it is definatly not a cool red like Im not a waitress, more orange red. I went home and did my mani.....and I am so impressed with this color, and polish. My friend at work said it best....it looks like a Coke Can. It is bright shiny creamy glittery red. I could have honestly used one coat and it would have been fine, but two made it really POP. I liked it so much that I did my toes too. It goes on great, and seems to be a really good consistency. I really like this color...really like it. I have never been attracted to orangy reds before, but this has made me change my mind. I looked at Head2Toe beauty and they have it cheap, like 2.50 a bottle, but the color on my monitor was fuchsia color not red, this definitely has no pink it, in person! Getting my nails in order is so much fun.....
I got this product based on other reviews here on MUA, and I have not been disappointed. The liner does go on clear, and gives your eyes that extra pop without being obnoxious. My only complaint is the brush, it is not stiff enough for me to use as an eyeliner, reminds me of a nail polish brush. I would definitely repurchase if I ran out.
Lotions/ Creams -Yes To Carrots - Hand and Elbow Moisturizing Cream
meowfish97 2/25/2009 12:54:00 PM
This is my second Yes To Carrots purchase, and I am very happy with it! My skin gets dry in the Nebraska winter, and this has helped considerably. I know some people don't like the smell, but I think it is lovely. The cream is thick, and sinks in fast but has great staying power. I am going to definitely purchase more of this line!
