Scrubs -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this. Definitely not one for dry skin. It is envigorating and good value for money, but very drying for the "sensitive" type.

Lotions/ Creams -Thymes Limited - Red Cherie Lotion
rated 4 of 5

I'm in two minds about this one. I am pregnant now, and somehow repulsed by most smells, but this lotion smells gorgeous, I fell in love with the smell so I bought it. It has AHA, so I was hoping it would help with the texture, not only the moisture levels, of my skin. I haven't noticed much difference yet, however, I do live in a very cold country and I am pregnant, which makes my skin go very dry somehow. It absorbs immediately and is very comfortable. The smell is subtle, not overpowering, a perfect mixture of fruity with floral, without being too girly. Very nice.

Moisturizers -MD Formulations - Moisture Defense Antioxidant Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 3 of 5
marie66 12/12/2009 5:28:00 PM

It's light and has almost no fragrance, quite a plain moisturiser, very good SPF, I found it too "light" for the Scottish winter; it didn't work well on my cheeks, that became quite dry. I'm planning to switch into this moisturiser for the summer.

Skincare - Face -MD Formulations - Vit-A-Plus Night Recovery Complex
rated 5 of 5

I'm on my third bottle for this. I alternate with the continus renewal serum alone at night. I sometimes give myself a break for a couple of days. Unlike most of the reviewers, I have dry skin with only a bit of oiliness in nose and chin. It works really well, has helped some hyperpigmentation around the eyes fade and a little goes a long way. The packaging and smell are not very luxurious, but it works.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light

This has a very strong coverage, so I look really made up when I use it. It's messy to apply, but if you want to look good for the camera or go out to a club or somewhere where you can vamp up your make up, this does it without looking unnatural. I find it very, very weird. I use VERY little product, it lasts ages...how it provides the covering it gives I can't explain. I would recommend it for people with redness in the skin too.

Liquid -Clinique - Supermoisture Makeup

Very good coverage, right amount of glitter and quite comfortable on the skin...a little goes a long way...but I have to star it down because they don't really have a shade for me. The one I bought is nice, but a bit un natural on me somehow...

Cleansers -Dr. Hauschka - Cleansing Cream
rated 5 of 5
marie66 2/4/2007 11:58:00 AM

Unlike some here I love the smell! Heavenly texture too. I have to use it twice to get rid of eye makeup, but otherwise, it's excellent. I have stopped using other cleansers, gels etc during winter months, because they'd dry up my skin. Moisturiser over this is great for this weather (Scotland, January...)

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Conditioner

No, no, no. Ugly packaging (I've got the pot), not sanitary, TASTES OF SOAP! Two lippies for doing what it says though (it does condition your lips) although vaseline would just as well.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red
rated 5 of 5

Love this red! Perfect shade for me, very intense, not as moisturising as other intense shades (such as Girl about town) but not drying whatsoever, with very good staying power. Very good for when you are going for a retro look as well. I went all the way for a night out to a show, with black mascara and eye liner and it still was not too "in your face". Elegant shade.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Water Shine in Guava Juice
rated 5 of 5
marie66 12/22/2006 8:11:00 AM

This is the ONLY cheap lipstick I wear. It hasn't got the best staying power, but the shades are fabulous, specially this guava juice one ( a mauvy pink that strangely does suit warmer complexions). And it doesn't have that disgusting Revlon/L'Oreal lipstick taste at all. It feels so nice. Try it!

Moisturizers -Nivea - DNAge day cream
rated 4 of 5
marie66 12/4/2006 5:53:00 AM

I got this as I am quite broke and unable to purchase my usual expensive stuff. It leaves my skin smooth, bright and it feels protected in very cold, very windy weather. I havent' broke out yet. The night cream is lovely too. The skin around my eyes feels plumped, the only thing I don't like about this is the tube it comes on. I have combo skin, that breaks out easily.

Do not try this. It's crap. It's a joke. End of story.

Skincare - Body -Dr. Hauschka - Body Oil
rated 5 of 5
marie66 10/29/2006 9:33:00 AM

Dr Hauschka's body oils are simply the nicest thing I've ever put on my skin. The nurturing scents, the textures, the packaging, this stuff is heaven. It makes me look forward to getting out of bed and really help you wind down or energise. My favourites are Rose oil and lavender and black berry. It's umbelievably soothing and my skin is better for it. I have sworn fidelity to this range.

Deodorants -Dr. Hauschka - Deodorant floral
rated 4 of 5
marie66 10/29/2006 9:28:00 AM

I use both of Hauschka's deodorants and am very happy with results, but I never perspire much anyway. My advice is to persist, they don't work for the first week or so if your body is used to stronger stuff with nasties in it. Give it time and you won't have a problem. And the health benefits are worth it.
