Lotions/ Creams -Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

Really soothes the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. Great for skin around cuticles. It doesn't feel too greasy like other creams I've tried, but can be if applied in bigger amounts. Formula is quite thick, so you only need a little bit. The 0.5oz/14g tube lasts a long time and is great for carrying around in bag.
I love using lemon to reduce the appearance of scars, but make sure you don't have any cuts or scratches on your face, because it will sting!! It works incredibly well! I just cut a lemon in half after rolling it to get as much juice as possible and scrub it all other my face.Works as an exfoliator and helps to make my skin incredibly soft. Let the lemon sit for a minute or so on the skin then wash off completey and apply a good moisturiser. Sometimes, I'll dip the cut end of the lemon into some white sugar and use that as an added exfoliator, it work's pretty good, but the sugar dissolves a little. You could also use it for dry skin, like the heel of foot and elbows.Other than that, it's dirt cheap, very effective and most importantly a natural product. :D
I love using sugar as a scrub! Goodbye harsh chemicals! I just use regular white sugar and mix that with some olive oil and honey until I get a 'paste' and scrub that all over my face avoiding eye area and rinse off with warm water. Sometimes if I'm lazy and can't be bothered using olive oil and honey, I'll just mix sugar with a creme cleanser and it work's just the same! Apply a moisturiser afterwards and my skin feels super soft! Great for super dry patches of skin and is perfect for creating a smooth surface. Never buying a store brought exfoliater again!
Masks -Unlisted Brand - Egg White Mask for Acne Skin
lye013 11/10/2010 10:51:00 PM
An egg white mask does amazing things for my skin! It makes my pores appear smaller, aborbs excess oil and softens my skin! I do this usually once every week or fortnight and leaves my skin feeling super good. Never going back to store brought masks with all the nasty chemicals, sticking to good old eggs from now on. Super affordable too!
This product worked okay for me, but not the best. It's definitely very hydrating, so great for super dry skin, but as for the reducing appearance of scars and stretch marks, not so much. It doesn't work too well on older scars/stretch marks, but if you apply bio-oil to newer scars or stretch marks, it works pretty well in reducing them and making them appear more 'opaque'. For the price though, it is pretty expensive but a little does go a long way, but if applied regulary to try and reduce the scar or stretch mark appearance, the cost adds up. I prefer Palmer's Cocoa Butter though, and it is also alot cheaper :D
Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Nail Polish (any color)
lye013 11/10/2010 9:26:00 PM
I have this in 'Bahamas Flirt', which is a light pink colour. When applied, it is pretty sheer and needs two coats to get a nice solid colour. Has a slight glitterly shimmer, which still stays on nail after removed with nail polish remover, so that is a pain. The good thing about this polish is that it stays on very well for at least a week and a half without hardly any chipping/peeling at all, and this is without a top coat! Has a thin formula, which makes it quick drying and the brush is quite thick and square shaped which makes painting nails quicker, but harder to get in the edges without painting onto skin.
I'm really liking these polishes. I picked up one from my local $2 store in creamy fuschia, a bright pink colour in a gloss finish and am really surprised by it. It goes on nice and smoothly, no streaks or uneven application. Dries pretty quickly as the formula is thin and comes off easily with nail polish remover. I've had it on for about 3 days now and still no chipping/peeling, but that is because I used a top coat on top. Nice colour range, cheap price, going back to the store to get some more!
I really love these! cheap, smells good and totally worth it. They are a staple in teenage girl's bags in NZ and remember everyone at high school had these. Have a couple of these in different scents. Tease, Goddess, True Love, Romantic Spark, Into Glamour, London Vibe and NY Sass. My top two would definitely be Into Glamour and NY Sass. They are scented pretty well, some a little stronger than others, but last for a good couple hours or so. Definitely good to have on hand at a really affordable price.
I have a trio called 'Nougat Dreams' and I really like it. They are matte/satin shadows, with a cream highlight colour, a light brown lid colour and a darker medium brown for the crease and outer V. The darkest brown is the most pigmented, and the other two colours are medium/sheer, but its just the way I like it for everyday wear. The shadows are nice and smooth, not chalky and I rarely get any fallouts! When applied wet, the colours are even more pigmented. I've hit pan in two of the three colours and will be back to buy another trio!
Lip Treatments -Bonne Bell - Lip Smacker in Coca-Cola Vanilla
lye013 11/10/2010 8:05:00 PM
I have a friend who is obsessed with vanilla coke and so when I saw this at the store I just had to buy it for her to add to her present. She absoutely LOVED the smell of this, and said that it was exactly the same as the drink and wondered where I had brought it so that she could buy some more. With her response, I went out and got one to try out and luckily it was on sale and now I am LOVING this lip balm. It smells and tastes sooooo good and also keeps my lips nice and smooth. I haven't brought a lip smacker in years as they more aimed towards younger kids, but glad I got this. Definitely worth trying out and makes you want a bottle of vanilla coke after you've applied it! Great value too!
Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Holiday Skin Body Lotion
lye013 11/10/2010 7:54:00 PM
My friend and I both tried this out, and we have mixed opinions on it. It didn't seem to work for me, so I gave it to her to try out. She liked it as it gave a good gradual tan that seemed somewhat natural however some parts seemed a bit darker than others. You need to apply it evenly on the skin making sure that you have exfoliated properly beforehand otherwise you will get uneven patches, but no streaking surprisingly. Tan builds up approx 3-4 days depending on how much and how frequently you use it.
Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
lye013 11/10/2010 7:27:00 PM
This product is really good. The best cream blush that I have tried that works for my skintone. The formula is super easy to apply, just dab a very small amount to each cheek and blend away. Very easy to blend because the formula is sooo creamy and smooth! Gives a nice sheer pink glow with a small amount of shimmer that looks very natural. I find that colour is build-able, but I like more of a natural look. The blush doesn't seem to last that long on its own, so maybe setting it with a powder blush of a similar colour would make it last longer. It does dry out if not used regulary, so make sure you keep the lid on tightly. Other than that, a very nice blush. Definitely recommend it!!
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Oil Free Foaming Facial Cleanser
lye013 11/10/2010 7:15:00 PM
Not a fan of this, really dries my skin and makes it feel super tight and 'waxy'. It's a pretty gentle cleanser and is good for light cleansing.
Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shiny-licious lip gloss in Strawberry Tart
lye013 11/10/2010 7:05:00 PM
I really liked this gloss, but disappointed that I can't find it at my local beauty stores anymore. Strawberry tart smells soooo delish, and has a nice sheer red colour, perfect for everday wear. Gloss is not too sticky, and really moisturising.
Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Superstay Gloss - Beaming Blush #105
lye013 11/10/2010 7:03:00 PM
I'm not a huge fan of this product. The colour end of the lipgloss is really drying on the lips so you need a good lipbalm underneath otherwise it makes your lips appear 'cracked'. The colour however is quite nice, and last's a good amount of time without having to be reapplied, but doesn't come off easily, will need a makeup wipe. The gloss end of the lipgloss is quite sticky, which I don't really like, but overall the gloss has a good staying quality. Will not buy again as the colour is really hard to get off.
