Cleansers -Shiseido - Future Solution Extra Rich Cleansing Foam
luxlover79 5/29/2013 2:04:00 PM
It's the best anti-aging cleanser I've tried from Shiseido. Cleans very good and moisturizes the skin as well. It helps diminish uneveness, my skin feels very smooth after washing. A tiny bit lathers well, it will last you a long time which is good when you think of the price. People with dry skin would benefit a lot using this. I have combination skin, so I only use this at night as I prefer oil control cleanser during daytime when I have to apply makeup. I will repurchase this if my budget allows, but I can live without it coz I'm still very satisfied (and getting almost same results) using White Lucent cream cleanser.
Treatments -Shiseido - Future Solution LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum

I finally gave in and spent the bucks for this serum (which makes me feel guilty still), but I believe in Shiseido Brand very much, coz their products are so working on my skin. Every line I try, from Pureness, to White Lucent, to Benefiance, to Bio-performance......it seems like Shiseido's only rival is itself, that's why their products just keep getting better. However, the Future Solution line made me step back coz of the price. There's no way I will purchase the whole line in full sizes! So I thought of buying the serum only and used it together with the sample sizes of cleanser, softener, day/nite creams & eye/lip cream. Softness & smoothness is improved after 1st night of use. Skin looked well-rested & supple, it recovers the skin very good. I actually didn't feel the need to have the night moisturizer, the serum is moisturizing enough. It has grainy appearance but dissolves to a smooth texture once massaged on skin. After a week of use before bedtime, my face looked free of fine lines, my old dark spots were lightened as well. I love how my forehead skin seemed to have been stretched upwards, it looked lifted. I'm only 33 and I thought this line is not for me yet, but it did diminished fine lines in a short time. I guess it's not too early to try serious anti-aging products. I'm 50/50 right now wether this serum beats the Bio-performance Corrective Serum as my HG serum. I'm so in love with Bio-performance serum, but I think Future Solution serum will work great in tandem with it as my night serum. By the way, packaging is luxuriosly awesome and the smell is divine to me. Others may find it strong but for me, the nice scent of a face product always leaves an impression and makes me use the product even more.
Cleansers -Shiseido - White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam

A great cleanser that cleans very good but does not dry the skin. I also love Benefiance creamy cleanser but now it's just my 2nd favorite. It's expensive but a tube will last for a long time, a little amount lathers well. It does not aggravate my oily t-zone, it balances my skin. Skin looks healthy after a wash. I've also tried Future Solution cleanser and this White Lucent performs similarly. Since White Lucent is the cheaper option, this is the one I'll be repurchasing often.
I'm a fan of L'oreal True Match foundation so I had to try this Magique one. The blendability is great, I can build it up without the cakiness. It illuminates the skin pretty well and stays pretty good when set with powder. I love the lightweight moisturizing feel but since my skin is on the oily side, it slides off faster. Not a big issue for me though, given that the product was intended to moisturize. I often reach for it coz it's not a chore blending it. I think any tool would blend this easy. Coverage is light to medium. Probably not the makeup I'll use for special events for it's lesser longevity on my skin, but I still like it on "no-matte" days when I'm after a comfortable makeup feel plus the glowing look. Dry skinned people would benefit with this formula.
Moisturizers -Shiseido - Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer

This is my HG moisturizer right now although I have oily t-zone. I actually have the equal love for this revitalizer and the other bio-performance restoring cream, they both plumped and made my skin super smooth that my pores became less visible. But this revitalizer I can use on daytime coz it's lighter and absorbs faster prior to applying makeup. My fine lines are less noticeable after 5 days of use ( in tandem with the super corrective serum) and my forehead seemed lifted! I so love it. My few blemishes were also lightened, which made me happier coz I don't have to repurchase White Lucent to lighten dark spots. This is way better than Benefiance WrinkleResist Cream which I used before. It is worth the price! I have zero regrets spending for something that works!
Moisturizers -Shiseido - Bio-Performance Super Restoring Cream

I love Shiseido coz I always get results from their products. This cream is the new addition to my faves. I used a 1.5 ml sachet sample & it's amazing that I saw difference on my skin with only little product. I have oily t-zone and living the tropical climate, so I only used this at night. I super love the result after I wash my face in the morning, it really plumps the skin like I had all the rest and sleep in the world! My pores were smaller too even though this is a thick cream. It's like my oily skin suddenly liked a super rich cream this time, that my skin was actually became less oily. This cream made me realize that I should slow down on slathering oil-control products. Anyways, I didn't have absorption problems here, like I said, I live in the tropics and I didn't have to warm this cream up to make it sink into my skin. I WILL surely purchase a full size jar.
This blush lasts for hours!!! Very pigmented and a slight brush from the pan is enough. I love the camellia design which is not only beautiful but offers variety of colors to mix. This blush & highlighter is pretty on the cheeks as it is on the pan. Another job well done from Shiseido!
Moisturizers -Shiseido - White Lucent Protective Moistuizer SPF 16
luxlover79 1/7/2013 11:01:00 AM
EDIT- I truly believe in this line now! After 6 weeks of use, I see the difference. My old dark spots are gone and my recent pimple spots are lightening in the process. I really have to buy the intensive serum to speed up the results. The protective cream really softens my skin but since itnhas SPF, I use thinner layer if I'll wear makeup. Overall, this is just another Shiseido line that proved itself to me. I'll repurchase!!! I'm using this with the cleanser & balancing softener, as with all Shiseido skincare I've used, White Lucent have the comforting scent to my nose which gives pleasure while using them. I had stress related pimples lately so I decided to shift from Bio-Performance (which I love!) to White Lucent in hopes of diminishing spots. It helped heal & lighten a bit but I don't think this can erase my spots totally unless I use the serum in this line. I try not to use this cream under makeup coz I'm oily, it will work perfect for dry skin. I like the luminizing effect it gives but my oily skin can become unforgiving hours after putting makeup on.There are cheaper alternatives in the market if you want the real whitening stuff. But this is great cream if u want that luminous & healthy skin finish.
I beg to disagree that the roller applicator doesn't work coz it does! I roll it simultaneously in vertical and horizontal motions to blend and I have to say that I prefer this than regular sponge. It picks up even amount from the pan & translates to the skin the same way. The product itself is not hard to blend neither. I finish my face a whole lot faster than using regular sponge. And what I like the most is the massaging effect of the roller on my face. I wish there are roller sponges like this sold in the market coz I find it very easy to use for cream foundation. Coverage is good and it's not too bad for my oily skin but I still prefer if it's a little bit more matte, so I knocked a lippie off. Overall, I like this product and it's good to understand why L'oreal came up with the roller, it simply works! Just think that paint rollers we use for walls ends up with even color & does the job faster than paint brushes....it's the same concept!
I seen a Derma E ad in my Harper's Bazaar magazine and the word glycolic on the label caught my attention. Glycolic treatment had always worked for my aging/oily skin, so excitement brewed inside me. Luckily I seen Derma E products sold in my local Healthy Options store & quickly grabbed 4 items of this vitamin A line. Here are my reviews for each of them: Cleanser- works great in removing dirt off the skin, it exfoliates gently on its own, prepping the skin for the next steps in my regimen. A small drop lathers abundantly coz of its gel-like consistency. My face felt super clean without the dryness. I dont use it on my eyes though. Scrub- dissolves and removes dead skin like no other facial scrub I've tried. It stings a little bit on the side of my nose ( maybe coz the skin there was a bit raw or something), but the sting fades on me. Again, a little goes a long way, a tube will last you forever if used 1's a week. My skin felt like I just walked out from a diamond peel appointment :) Toner- gentle and does not smell like alcohol. It's a must to try to be able to benefit the full efects of the vitamin A & glycolic treatment it gives. It works perfectly with the cleanser. Vitamin A cream- emollient without the greasiness. My skin felt calmed & soothed after first application. I can't say for now if this will really plump my fine lines, I would have to use it for a while and update my review. So far, it absords pretty good & hydrates well. I'll see if it can beat my Shiseido creams in anti-aging performance.
This mask is OK at best. I like the Skinfood Royal Honey Mask better for its calming, smoothing & hydrating effects, which I expected to be better from Gold Caviar. The mask is emollient but no world changing results for me. I use it at night as sleeping pack (as suggested from a blogger that supposedly got the info from Skinfood salesperson) after I use Gold Caviar toner, essence, serum & emulsion. This mask seems to sit on the skin only, when my face touches the pillow, the mask is wiped off leaving skin with no emollient feeling at all. Even I leave it for 30mins or so before I lay down to bed (thinking it seeped some in the skin), as soon as pillow touch my face it's getting wiped off leaving no mask left. I guess it's best used as washed off & not as sleeping mask. The entire Gold Caviar line is good for prevention but will not plump skin nor erase fine lines. The caviar name sounds luxurious and I though it would really work as anti-aging line. I'm not repurchasing.
Skincare -Skinfood - Honey Black Tea Cleansing Milk
luxlover79 9/14/2012 5:06:00 AM
My HG makeup remover that won my heart over Shu Uemura Cleasing Oil! It's yellowish milk cleanser that removes eye makeup very good including my Majolica Majorca mascara! It softens mascara off my lashes like no other. Skin feels soft after even its stripped off makeup & impurities. It has a quiet strong scent that may bother some, but I really like it. Reminds me of a classic perfume. This product opened the doors of Skinfood for me that made me try their other products. I have to say that Skinfood is a hit or miss, so far I'm not a fan of their makeup (except Salmon concealer) & most of their moisturizers are so-so in performance compare to my HG Shiseido products. BUT this Honey Black Cleansing Milk nailed it for me! I'll repurchase for back up in case they discontinue this.
GREAT serum to use as makeup base to control shine! My skin was velvety upon using this, it definitely helped my oily skin to slow down sebum secretion & stay matte for hours. This for sure is not for people who opts for dewy look or those suffering from dry skin. This would be my staple product for my oily t-zone from now on. I think this is my HG oil fighter product already, I'm pretty satisfied that I stopped searching for anti-shine primers after using this.
One of the best cleansers I tried in my life! It strips my face of dirt but keeps the moisture on the skin. The smell can be strong for some, but for me it's great. It's like a classic perfume scent. The bottle design is also nice. This works best with the Honey Black Tea Cleansing Milk, which removes waterproof mascara easily. I was actually surprised of the cleansing milk coz it works at par with Shu Uemura cleansing oil IMO. I love this line and it made me wanna try other Skinfood products.
Concealers -Skinfood - Dark Circle Concealer Cream
luxlover79 9/11/2012 12:48:00 PM
The gel-like consistency of this concealer won my heart! It does not dry my undereye area nor sit on fine lines. The coverage is good & buildable. Not the best on longevity wise, but stays put pretty well when set with powder. Great product overall and I'll repurchase.
