BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35

I really like this BB cream...makes my skin glow and look fresh without heaviness or oil (I have an oily t-zone). This is so much better than foundation, more natural and good for you - SPF 30 and antioxidants. The coverage is sheer-medium but I find it evens out the redness and with a light dusting of powder foundation, I'm good to go! I bought the lightest shade and it gives me a little color but still matches!

Foundations -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup For Face & Body

I use this on my cheeks and jaw line to cover up old acne scars from cystic acne...this stuff really covers. I do agree it's thick and can look like a mask if you're not careful, so I wanted to share a technique I figured out (not really a new idea)!: just mix your regular day moisturizer with a small amount of this foundation on your finger, blend together and then apply with your fingertips...it looks natural and provides flawless coverage! I love this look and for days I want all-over full coverage, I use this technique. This technique still covers my acne scars but looks more natural. It blends onto your skin like silk and doesn't settle or look like a mask. I hope that helps those of you think this is too heavy or mask like!

Conditioner -Nexxus - Youth Renewal
rated 5 of 5
kbugg 2/11/2013 11:01:00 AM

This was on sale at my Publix, and I've seen the advertisements and couldn't resist trying it out. I really like this conditioner, made my hair feel really soft but not weighted down. I think it's argan oil listed on the ingredients, but it is not heavy, just soft and shiny. I don't have aging hair, but regular highlights and color make it dull...plus I'm late 30's...so I figured this couldn't hurt. I also went back and purchased the shampoo since it was on sale too! Like it as well, soft hair, not weighed down. For reference, I have fine, slightly wavy, shoulder-length highlighted/colored hair.

BB Cream -Tarte - BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen

Love this! Got a sample from ULTA that came with all 4 colors and light works perfectly on my NC20 skin tone. I use this as a base for my Bare Minerals Ready foundation and it works like a charm. Nice coverage, smooths out my pores and makes my face look fresh and even toned. The SPF 30 and easy travel tube are what sold me. I'm going to buy the full size when my sample runs out.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
rated 2 of 5
kbugg 12/18/2012 11:20:00 AM

I really wanted to like this...got several samples and then purchased the full size version. I feel like this sits on top of skin and never really melts into it, even with a primer, I can "see" the foundation on my skin and it grabbed into my pores. I thought I had the wrong color and tried 3 different shades, they were all either too yellow, pink or dark. Con's: Transfers - I am very annoyed that a high priced foundation requires a primer to look decent, otherwise it sits on your skin and transfers like crazy. Actually, even with a primer, on my combo-skin, this seemed to transfer on my phone, clothes, fingers, I could wipe my face with my finger and see this foundation even with a primer, setting powder. And my skin is not overly oily but this foundation just doesn't agree with my combo skin, seems to make it greasier and transfers horribly! Another CON: you have to buy the pump separately and good luck finding it. I live in Atlanta and called 2 Sephora's and 2 Nordstrom's before locating a few left in stock (which I did not buy since this foundation isn't working). I think a foundation at this price point should include the pump!

Liquid -Unlisted Brand - Aero Minerale Hydrating Mist Foundation
rated 4 of 5
kbugg 12/18/2012 11:14:00 AM

I really like this foundation, I picked it up on a wimp at ULTA. Very easy to apply if you first shake and spray in on your hand then blend it in. Lovely coverage that really lasts. I bought the shade "butter" which is a warm light shade without a lot of pink in it to neutralize the redness in my skin. It can be drying, so I recommend a moisturizer and/or primer first. It's winter and I'm still able to wear this without it feeling dry. I love that it does NOT transfer to my phone or clothing. I hate when makeup does that. This stays put and looks fresh. I do have combo/slight oily skin however. I would think this could be hard for very dry complexions to pull off in the winter or dry climates. Really no cons to report unless you're not a fan of the spray on foundation. This is MUCH better and cheaper than Dior spray foundation that I returned after trying and just did not like.

Mascara -Lancome - Hypnose Waterproof
rated 3 of 5
kbugg 12/14/2012 6:24:00 PM

I do like this...it looks beautiful for the first 3 - 4 hours after applying but then it basically disappears on me and looks like I forgot to apply mascara. This is unacceptable for a $26 waterproof Lancôme mascara. I even checked to be sure I bought the waterproof formula, maybe it's just me, but I have to reapply this half way thru the day to make it last :( Sadly I tossed the box or I would return it to Sephora! Next time I'll save my cash and buy my tried and true Maybelliene full & soft or define a lash!!

Styling Products -Kenra - Platinum Blow-Dry Spray
rated 5 of 5
kbugg 12/11/2012 11:50:00 AM

This stuff is HG for me (for reference I have slightly wavy, very fine shoulder length hilighted hair that tangles easily). I only need 3-4 sprays for my entire head and I swear this cuts my blow-drying time in HALF and my hair looks better than any other styling product I have ever tried (and I've tried a lot of them in the past)!! I actually found this by chance with an Ulta free gift for level #4 and just decided to try this for traveling since it has a cap on the spray nozzle. Well, now I LOVE IT so much and even though it's only 3.4 oz bottle, it has lasted me 6 months and there's still at least half a bottle left. You don't need much to get results, so for me, I will pay full-price next time when I need to repurshase...unless I can score another Ulta rewards level 4 ;)

Lipstick -Too Faced - Honey bear
rated 5 of 5
kbugg 9/29/2012 1:01:00 PM

Beautiful color and formula! Honey bear is a pinkish brown with a hint of shimmer. Perfect for fall and not too dark as I do not dark lips! Has a nice sheen and very moisturizing. The color definitely shows up unlike some of the other La Creme colors I tried. These are sheer almost gloss like, a great alternative to gloss and the staying power is much better.

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
rated 1 of 5
kbugg 9/5/2012 10:28:00 AM

I was excited to try this when I saw it in the Ulta ad and had my hopes up since the original and matte BE foundations didn’t work for me. Original was too shiny and accentuated my pores while matte was just that, flat and dry looking. I preface my review by saying I did not buy this but instead had this applied all over by a SA at Ulta. She used a primer and then applied this with a fluffy brush. I was immediately impressed with the coverage, my face looked flawless. However, upon further inspection I realized every line and pore was accentuating (much the way the original BE reacts on my skin!). I thought this would be more of a matte since it’s in a compact and appears matte but it has a sheen to it much the same way the Original BE foundation does, this is just disguised in a compact. I really wanted to like this but it really made my face look dry, very cakey and unnatural. I do not have dry skin, more combo and this seemed to make my face look like plastic but grabbed every tiny line and pore (even thou I used a primer). I even applied this myself with a very light hand in the store with no primer, and go the same result. I did not purchase this and don’t plan to based on my findings. UPDATE: This accentuates pores and fine lines...I don't have fine lines, but this made it appear that I do. If you take a magnifying mirror, you can really see this sitting in your pores and making them appear bigger! I would NOT recommend this product to anyone with visible pores.

Polishes -Essie - Secret Story
rated 4 of 5
kbugg 7/20/2012 1:46:00 PM

I love this polish, it gives a nice opaque girlie-pink color with 2 coats. It goes on smoothly and has a high-shine glossy finish. It's a classic blue-toned pink - and just a few shades lighter than Bachelorette Bash (which is a much deeper fushia). I bought this at Target, not sure if it's a new color or old, but I love it on my toes. This is a fun shade for summer!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Invisible Fluid Makeup
rated 4 of 5
kbugg 5/14/2012 10:10:00 AM

Loving this foundation, if you're looking for a warm weather foundation that gives you a pretty polished look, this is it! It covers my redness/blotchiness and makes my face even and more youthful. It is NOT full coverage, but does cover better than any tinted moisturizer I've used (Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Stila, etc) and doesn't give me a shiny look, just a polished no-makeup look. The Finish: This looks like my skin, only much much better. I did a test and only applied this to half of my face and then compared, the results - it evened out my skin and made me look better but didn't look like a mask and I couldn't really tell I was even wearing makeup. I find this looks best when finished with a mineral foundation (I like Bobbi Brown's) it gives a little extra coverage and completes the polished look I'm trying to achieve.

Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Smooth Absolute
rated 5 of 5
kbugg 3/20/2012 10:49:00 AM

Had to review - I've been searching for the "perfect foundation" - who isn't? For reference, I have combo skin that gets oily in the summer but very dry in the winter (only oily in the t-zone for the most part). So I was hesitant to purchase a foundation for mature skin, thinking it would leave me a shiny greasy mess! What I need from a foundation: to cover acne scars and give me some natural glow while still looking flawness and not heavy or cakey. I have old acne scars to cover and I really have noticed lately that my skin is not as luminous as it used to be, very dull even thou I exfoliate regularly and take very good care of my skin. I was searching for a foundation that would give me a "glow" without the grease or sparkle mess...something that looks like my skin, only much better. Well, this does it all: covers my acne scars (the main reason I wear foundation) and give me that healthy skin look without dulling my complexion (like most foundations do). I'm really loving this and it does NOT make my skin oily. I do prep with primer and finish it with loose powder, I think that makes the difference. The weather is warm, so even if I have to blot mid-day, that's ok b/c I'd rather have to blot oil that have a dull complexion all day.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
rated 3 of 5
kbugg 3/16/2012 3:44:00 PM

I got a generous sample of this from Sephora in the lightest shade, ivory. At first it looked great on, evened out my complexion and did not look heavy or made up. By lunch time, my skin was noticably oil (all over), instead of just my usual t-zone. I have combo-skin, so I was surprised by this. Unfortunately this caused the makeup to slip off and by end of day, I had no makeup on! Too bad b/c this looked very nice when first applied, but no way will it hold up on my combo skin this summer, so will not purchase.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
kbugg 1/25/2012 10:52:00 AM

I really like this eyeliner, have been searching for the perfect gel or liquid liner as I look that defined look better than what a pencil delivers. This is provides a nice, crisp defined eye line, you can draw it thick or thin, I prefer thin for a sophisticated but natural look. It is a bit shiny (at least the brownish/black color is) but I kinda like the shine! My eyes look bigger and more defined with this eyeliner. This also seems to stay on all day, provided I don't rub my eyes or shower, I don't think it's waterproof, just smudge-proof. For reference, I also purchased Maybelline's gel liner to compare and I think I prefer this one. The gel is not as dark (even the black), or defined but both stay on all day. Very affordable, I doubt I'll go back to the expensive brands after finding this :)
