Lipstick -Revlon - Superlustrous Lipstick - Demure (LE)
kad9k 12/23/2011 10:10:00 AM
This lipstick doesn't strike me as sheer, but the color is very natural and MLBB, so it's definitely a subtle look. I like it for when I want something with a little more color than a nude lip, but it is very versatile. I am starting to think Revlon makes the best lipsticks in the industry — great formula, classic shades that aren't too boring but that many women can wear. I got this in the vintage packaging, which I love, and it's currently 75% off at my CVS.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Kabuki Face Brush
kad9k 7/30/2011 11:33:00 AM
I feel like I don't hear much about this brush compared to other ELF favorites (which I also love) but it is terrific. I use it daily to blend out bronzer or blush, and to put on an overall coat of powder (sometimes the ELF HD). It is soft and blends everything together perfectly. I also think it has a cool look, with the black and grey coloring. Throw this into your next ELF order and you won't be disappointed.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Flashy Liner Waterproof 09 Flashy Pink
kad9k 6/12/2011 12:56:00 AM
I was thinking that I really need to review all the products I reach for every day. I use this on my waterline daily, and it brightens up my eyes without looking too stark. It's soft and creamy and never irritates. Highly recommend!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
kad9k 3/27/2011 1:59:00 PM
This is SUCH a fantastic trio. I had to go out of town unexpectedly last weekend and throw together a bag in minutes. I just took this for eye shadow and was happy. You can use it for a subtle look or really smoke it out. At first glance, the peach shade didn't look like something I'd want to highlight my browbone with, but it really is great for that. It's not too pigmented or frosty and blends really well. The lid shade is gorgeous and versatile, especially if you love taupes. The crease shade is a bit dark for every day use in the crease for me, but it's quickly becoming my HG liner shadow. I put it on over pencil liner and it stays all day and doesn't smudge, plus the sparkles make it a little special. I've been reaching for this several times a week. An absolute bargain.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express One by One
kad9k 3/12/2011 12:28:00 PM
I'm waffling on whether I would buy this again because I hate the smell so much. It is a very strong perfume-y smell, and it makes me feel like I shouldn't put it near my eyes. However, the formula and the brush on this are fantastic -- comparable to my HG Lash Blast. I really do think this does a good job of coating individual lashes with no clumps. I just have to decide if it's worth tolerating the smell.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Bare it All 902C
kad9k 2/17/2011 9:50:00 PM
I bought this with several other of the matte lipsticks, and didn't expect it to be a standout. But I reach for it almost every day. I don't care for most long-wearing lipsticks, but I like that I can put this down as a base under almost anything else and it lasts for a good long while. It's on the darker side of nude for me, a PPP, but gives me a very natural look on its own. I put a lip balm underneath most days, but if I forget I don't find it too drying.

Eye Primer -Palladio - Herbal Eyeshadow Primer
kad9k 11/18/2010 10:52:00 PM
This is an OK alternative to Urban Decay primer potion, but it didn't give me as long wear, and after a couple of tries I realized it was causing these funny raised bumps on my eyelids. I know every product probably gives somebody a bad reaction, but I just wanted to mention it here. I have never had that problem with UDPP or other cream eye products.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
kad9k 10/7/2010 1:41:00 PM
I can't quite articulate why, but this is my favorite lip balm to throw in my carry-on bag for airplane trips. I have tons of lip balms, lots of which would be more convenient for travel, but this is the one I like. I think because at the end of a long plane ride, it smells delicious, moisturizes my lips and also makes them look nice. Right now I like Savory, a peachy color, because it goes with whatever makeup I have on. But Plush, a pink, is nice, too. I generally prefer lip balms that you don't have to stick your finger in to, but this packaging is elegant and makes the product seem more expensive than it is. I keep an eye out for when these are marked down and stock up.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Cyndi ] [DISCONTINUED]
kad9k 10/7/2010 1:35:00 PM
I really just bought this product because I saw Cyndi and Gaga on the Today show and liked their message and wanted to support the cause. But this has become one of my go-to lipsticks. It's bright enough to be interesting but subtle enough to be professional and/or not scream, "I'm wearing red lipstick!" I've taken to throwing this in my travel bag along with one neutral lipstick, and I'm set for the trip. If I fill in my lips with liner first (like Estee Lauder Spice Writer) it lasts for a good portion of the day. Highly recommend for warm-toned gals.

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil - brown
kad9k 10/7/2010 1:31:00 PM
I'm so disappointed with this product. It's nice to find a heavily pigmented eye pencil at the drugstore, but this is useless to me because by the end of the day, the color has transferred to my crease. It doesn't matter if I set it with powder or not. I don't even find this to be as long-wearing as, say, UD 24-7 pencils. If you need a cheap, long-wearing DS liner, try Wet 'N' Wild's gel eyeliner.

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush #127 Honeymoon
kad9k 9/25/2010 11:36:00 PM
This was a bit of a disappointment after Pin Up, which I love and use almost every day. Honeymoon is much lighter, and doesn't have as much depth. I'm very pale and couldn't use this as a blush, so I don't know who it's designed for ! But it does make a pretty pink highlighter.

Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush in Pin Up
kad9k 9/25/2010 11:29:00 PM
This is one of my favorite things I bought this year. I use it almost every day over whatever blush I'm wearing to perk it up. It gives a really beautiful glowy effect, and I find there's almost nothing it doesn't look good over. Will repurchase again and again.

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering blush in Glow
kad9k 9/25/2010 11:21:00 PM
This is one of my favorite blushes, and I can't believe it only cost $1! It's a beautiful peachy coral with gold shimmer. I find it more pigmented than the ELF Studio Candid Coral blush. I took off a lippie because I hate the packaging, though. It's really hard to get open, and I feel like I'm going to break it one of these days.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Color Riche Star Secret Aishwarya Beige
kad9k 8/4/2010 11:06:00 AM
I'm very pale, so I can't honestly say why I picked up a lipstick designed for Aishwarya Rai! But I'm so glad I did. This is a gorgeous rosy nude, everyday, polished lipstick. I have turned several friends onto this color after they saw me apply it, so I'd say it works for a variety of skintones. I haven't been able to figure out if "Linda's Beige" is the same color, but I sure hope so because this is a product I would repurchase over and over.

Powder -Origins - Multi-Grain Makeup
kad9k 8/4/2010 9:59:00 AM
I'm one of those gals who had to stop wearing BE's Bare Minerals because it started making my face itch like crazy. I really liked the idea of mineral makeup, though, and I've always loved Origins products, so I thought I'd give their version a try. WOW. I like this so much better than BE. It just feels so natural and smooth as it goes on, and it smells like wheat! I have been using it since last fall and I haven't had any itching or irritation with this product. I'm very pale (NC15), and the lightest shade works just fine for me. I find it looks much darker in the container than how it goes on. My only complaint about this product is that when it gets near the end, it clumps up a bit, and I couldn't get it through the sifter. Also, the sifter isn't removable, so I had to throw out the container with a bit of product still in it. However, I happily repurchased and will continue to do so.
