Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
joxxy 2/8/2012 5:58:00 AM
UDPP is definitely a staple in my makeup routine! I don't ever wear eyeshadow without priming my eyes with this. I like that they switched the packaging over to a tube so that no product goes to waste, but I did find it easier to use the sponge tip applicator to apply primer directly to the areas where I needed it. But the pro of not wasting product definitely outweighs the con of precise application. I'd rather spend a few more seconds to squeeze out a miniscule amount of primer on my pinky, than have to go through the hassle of cutting open the genie bottle. But I don't think I need to go into much detail about the product results - it definitely works! It helps my eyeshadows stay put and prevents them from creasing (though I do notice a tiny bit of creasing if I wear light, metallic colors after 12-14 hrs), and makes color payoff more vibrant. I will re-purchase this over and over again.

Masks -Marcelle - Clay Mask with Kaolin
joxxy 2/8/2012 5:52:00 AM
I purchased this after reading the rave reviews on MUA. My skin was breaking out all over the place for some reason, and I wasn't using any products aimed for acne. I managed to grab this at a Shopper's on sale for around $11.99, which was a great deal, considering how well this product works! So I have combination skin with occasional break outs, and I used this 3 times a week while my skin was going crazy. The mask has a gel-like consistency when you first squeeze the product out of the tube, and dries within 30 seconds! You will feel your skin tighten, but it isn't unbearable or anything. I didn't experience any stinging or odd sensation upon the first application. I apply it before I go to bed, and usually leave it on for 30 minutes, and just rinse with warm water. The mask does help reduce redness and the size of pimples, and helps tone the skin a bit. Another thing I love about this mask is that it doesn't dry out my skin! Yes, it helps reduce the size of pimples, but amazingly, doesn't dry out my cheeks and sides of my nose! If you want a mask that sucks up oil and helps reduce size of pimples/inflammation, pick this up if you can! I would definitely recommend this, and re-purchase.

Nails -Revlon - Revlon Top SpeedNail Enamel Grape
joxxy 3/19/2011 5:21:00 AM
This is probably one of my favorite Revlon polishes! The formula is very fast drying, so try to paint/coat your nails as fast as possible to avoid clumping and air bubbles. This color is opaque in one coat for me, which is awesome. The color itself is a deep purple which can appear almost black in dim lighting, and a beautiful deep purple in different lighting. It lasted up to 3 days without chipping for me (with a base coat, but no top coat). I would definitely recommend this!

Polishes -Revlon - Pink Again 180
joxxy 3/19/2011 5:17:00 AM
I bought this color in hopes of it being a girly, Barbie-like pastel pink like it appears in the bottle. However, I was disappointed. First off, the polish has a pearlized, slightly shimmery finish whilst I was hoping for a opaque, very pink finish. Secondly, the first coat goes on very, very sheer. Which brings me to my third point - you need many coats of this polish in order to get your nails to be the same color as it appears in the bottle. I guess my search for the perfect pink polish goes on.

Eye Shadow -Rock & Republic - Eye Shadow in Snakeskin
joxxy 2/21/2011 3:42:00 AM
I recently acquired this eyeshadow for about $25 or so (including shipping) online, and I absolutely love it! The pan itself is pretty big, and the shadow is quite pigmented so you don't need to use too much of it. As others mentioned, it's a unique, olive/brown/gold color which looks different under different lighting. The color is very buildable, so don't just pile this stuff on! The formula is VERY silky and easy to blend. It has a nice, sheer sheen to it - no flecks of glitter or anything like that. I love wearing this with Urban Decay's Baked, and putting Snakeskin in the outer corner for a unique smokey eye that's wearable for day time.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
joxxy 8/23/2010 2:43:00 AM
I've been wanting to try these so bad, but they're rather pricey for a drugstore product here ($9.99 not including tax), but I saw them on sale for $3.99 and immediately picked 2 up! I bought them in Nude Lustre and Pink Whisper. Nude Lustre has become my HG lip gloss. Its a gorgeous nude, orangey/pinkish color that compliments my skin really well. It contains fine shimmers and is so pigmented. The gloss itself is non-sticky, but does smell kind of weird. However, you probably won't notice it unless you actually take the lip gloss up to your nose and sniff it. Its definitely my go-to lipgloss despite whatever eye makeup I'm wearing because the shade adds a bit of color to my face without overpowering my eyeshadow colors. Plus, it has SPF 15! Oh yeah, the only reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 lippies is because of the price.

Eyes -Shu Uemura - False Eyelashes
joxxy 8/11/2010 3:25:00 AM
These are my favorite eyelashes ever, and I really wish I stocked up while I was in Asia. The band is so soft and flexible, making application really easy. Although the band looks thick, it really isn't and unlike other eyelashes out there, it looks as though its just eyeliner and is really comfortable on your eyelids. I have a pair in "soft cross", which the SA said is one of the most natural lashes and is supposed to elongate Asian eyes. The lashes are really long, but also look really natural! They do elongate my eyes, and look absolutely lovely on. Unfortunately, my falsies have begun to fall apart because I tried to pick glue off of them one day and they just started shedding like crazy. However, I did wear them at least 6 times. They are a bit pricey for false lashes, but totally worth it! Just take good care of them and make the most out of them.

Eye Shadow -Kanebo - KATE Deep Eyes Palette in Brown
joxxy 8/11/2010 3:17:00 AM
This is such a versatile palette - perfect for both casual and more dramatic looks. The palette comes with 5 different shades of brown ranging from a highlight color to a dark brown crease color. Some are matte, and some shimmery. I really have nothing bad to say about this palette except the packaging, which we'll get to later. But first, the pros - the eyeshadows are pigmented, finely milled, are easy to blend, don't budge (I use it with Urban Decay Primer Potion), and I feel as though these shades of brown are perfect for Asian skin tones because they have more of a golden undertone (especially the lightest highlight color, which is gorgeous - it practically glows!). The only con about the product is the packaging - since its a small palette split into 5 sections, the colors more likely to be used such as the highlight and all over crease colors have the largest space, and the palette contains a really small amount of the darker crease colors. But you really can do a wide variety of looks with this one palette alone! Since the colors blend easily, I like blending different colors together before applying them to my lids. This is definitely a staple in my make up bag!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - retractable kabuki
joxxy 5/14/2010 4:51:00 AM
I LOVE this brush! Its retractable, making it perfect for on the go touchups, its densely packed with super soft synthetic hairs, and you can't complain about the price if you compare it to higher-end brushes. The only complaint I have about this brush is that it takes forever to dry, making it a hassle. However, I haven't had any problems with the cover sliding off in my bag or anything. I love how this brush distributes my powder evenly and feels so soft against my skin. Oh and another downside if you're picky about packaging is that well, the packaging is quite ugly. However, it is eco-friendly and the price is pretty low, so you can't really expect top notch packaging. But I would definitely repurchase this brush!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
joxxy 12/15/2009 3:44:00 AM
My new favorite mascara! This product really does volumize and lengthen, but the large brush makes it a bit difficult to reach the tiny lashes at the edges of the eyes. I had to keep coating the mascara in order to achieve the volume I wanted, but the end result was totally worth it. My lashes were huge and volumized - even my bf noticed! I have short Asian lashes and applying this mascara to curled lashes makes such a dramatic difference. Plus, its waterproof! In addition, the yellow tube with metallic blue lettering is pretty cute. I definitely recommend this mascara. EDIT: I took off one lippie because the mascara smudges and gives me raccoon eyes after 7/8 hours. I'm disappointed!

Palettes -Too Faced - Glamour to Go III Pocket Palette
joxxy 12/3/2009 7:33:00 PM
This was the first Too Faced product I've tried and I was so excited because Too Faced usually gets such good reviews. However, this palette was so disappointing to me. The packaging is definitely cute and compact, but the eyeshadows (the main reason why I purchased this in the first place) are not pigmented at all. The glosses suck, but the blush is alright. The color is very nice but fades pretty quickly. No matter how cute the packaging is, I basically never use this palette. It was a waste of money - spend it on something else.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Sustainable Shadow Box
joxxy 11/8/2009 9:38:00 PM
The packaging is soo pretty but I'm not a big fan of the sliding cover. HOWEVER, the colors of this palette are absolutely gorgeous. Yes, some shades have a ton of fall out but the color payoff and overall effect is great. Some colors are made for nights out and the others day time but I love all of them. It's also very convenient how they included the primer with this - it's the first time I've used it and now I'll definitely consider buying the full size.

Toners -Biore - Triple Action Astringent
joxxy 11/6/2009 2:43:00 AM
I'm not sure whether or not the astringent is actually clearing up my acne, but it feels amazing after the application - tingly and refreshing. Although unsure, I'll continue to use this in hopes that it'll help because it cost around $14, which isn't cheap for a drug store product.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
joxxy 11/6/2009 2:36:00 AM
I've always loved the St. Ives scrubs, especially this one because it contains acne fighting ingredients. Yes it's VERY gritty and I got a cornea abrasion from it once, but it seriously does it's job of exfoliating and smoothing out skin. I use it once every a couple of days since over-exfoliation would be a no no, but I really love this product. It leave my skin feeling smooth and refreshed.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Mediterranean Breeze
joxxy 10/13/2009 9:42:00 PM
I LOVE how this perfume smells but it's unfortunate it has no lasting power. It's very light, floral, citrusy - just wonderful but it fades really quickly. That's the only reason why I took off a lippy.
