Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
jochan2 5/18/2006 8:48:00 PM
I'm really impressed with this product - an effective non-abrasive exfoliant. I have been using it for 3 weeks now every other day and have not had any bad reaction. My skin is definitely more even-toned and perhaps there are less blackheads. I'm not too sure yet though of it's skin brightening properties. This will definitely be a repurchase.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Madrague Duo
jochan2 8/13/2005 8:50:00 AM
I'm beginning to really like Nars eyeshadows especially the duos. I bought this unseen and based on MUA reviews. The colours has been well described by others (pale cream for highlighting and darker brown for crease). The colours go extremely well together. This is just perfect for an everyday polished look. I was pleasantly surprised about how pigmented the eyeshadows were which didn't crease on me at all (I use an eyelid primer as my lids are extremely oily). Colours stay true throughout the day. This is highly recommended for those who love neutrals and definitely not for those who love more vibrant colours. I would definitely repurchase if I ever run out.

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Mascara Basic [DISCONTINUED]

This is the only mascara that doesn't clump or smudge on me and has therefore reached HG status. I would continue to repurchase.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Chihuahua
jochan2 8/6/2005 9:05:00 AM
This is one fantastic YLBB lip gloss - pinky peach without shimmer/glitter. As with all Nars lip products, it does have a slight plastic type smell but isn't overpowering. It is long-lasting and nondrying on my lips. I would highly recommend this. AUD50 from Mecca Cosmetica.

Blush -NARS - Nico
jochan2 8/6/2005 9:01:00 AM
I bought this based on MUA reviews and I'm not disappointed. I use this as a highlighter and to smooth out the edges around my blush. The look is so natural and polished. I highly recommend this product. For reference: Asian yellow-based skin and uses GA MSF 5, GA LSF5, LM TM Nude, Chantecaille future skin Ivory, Px Virtual Skin Real Vellum.

Eye Shadow -NARS - All About Eve Duo
jochan2 8/6/2005 8:57:00 AM
I can understand how others might find this eyeshadow to be too 'light'. However I love the fact that it just highlights my eyes without drawing too much attention to it. I love to use this with Nars Blondie (included in the Skin Deep palette) for a neutral everyday polished look finished with a brown-based eyeliner. For reference: Asian yellow-based skin and uses GA MSF 5, GA LSF5, LM TM Nude, Chantecaille future skin Ivory, Px Virtual Skin Real Vellum.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
jochan2 8/6/2005 8:52:00 AM
I've stayed away from this blush due to all the hype and publicity that this product has received. A MA has tried this on me recently and I absolutely love it. It's colour has been well-described by others. What I did find though is that it gave me a warm natural glow without a lot of glitter or shimmer that others have mentioned. This is a definite purchase for me and I highly recommend it to others. For reference: Asian yellow-based skin and uses GA MSF 5, GA LSF5, LM TM Nude, Chantecaille future skin Ivory, Px Virtual Skin Real Vellum.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer
jochan2 8/6/2005 8:47:00 AM
This product works really well with the LM tinted moisturiser. It keeps my foundation on all day and has never caused a break out. It comes in a plastic tube which is very hygienic. I will purchase for as long as I keep using LM tinted moisturiser.

Crème -Chantecaille - Future Skin
jochan2 8/6/2005 8:43:00 AM
This is my first foundation from Chantecaille and I love it. My DH did very well in picking up Ivory from a recent trip to HK. I prefer sheer to medium coverage foundations which gives a satin to slightly matte finish. This foundation does all of that. I love the fact that it is oil free. Although having spf would have been a bonus. I few people mentioned the disadvantages of the screw top container that it comes in. I'm not a big fan of this either. Ivory is a good match for me but it is pinky-based and I'm looking for a yellow-based foundation in this range. For reference: Asian with combo/oily skin, GA MSF 5, LM TM Nude, Px Virtual Skin Real Vellum, GA LSF 5.

Treatments -La Prairie - Retexturizing Booster [DISCONTINUED]
jochan2 7/31/2005 2:54:00 AM
I've started using this product again after a bout of frequent breakouts. In the last 3-4 weeks, I've noticed less breakouts with less blackheads/whiteheads. My skin has become a lot softer and more even toned. I use this mostly at night after cleansing. I then use Skinceuticals hydrating B5 gel as this serum can be drying especially around the eye area. I now prefer this my Skinceuticals C+AHA which was also effective but has a very short shelf life and therefore would turn out to be more expensive in the long run. I think this product should be used in conjunction with a good skin care regime to achieve the best results.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Key Largo Duo
jochan2 7/30/2005 10:16:00 AM
I bought this product on a whim and am glad I did. I agree with the previous reviewer in that this is very pigmented compared to a few Nars eyeshadows that I've tried. The key to longer lasting eyeshadows especially for gals like me with oily lids is to use an eyeshadow primer (I use LM eye basics). I'm a FFF-LLL Asian and this duo complements my skin colouring. I am looking at purchasing more Nars eyeshadow duos.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #209 Eye liner
jochan2 6/7/2005 7:50:00 AM
This is a great brush to use with fluidlines. It draws a perfect line. I found this easier to use than the angled brush. I would repurchase in a heartbeat.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner - All Colors
jochan2 5/7/2005 11:50:00 AM
This is my first go at gel eyeliners and I'm hooked. The application (best with brush#209) was easier than I'd anticipated. I would defintely recommended Macroviolet, Dipdown, and Rich Ground.

Makeup Brushes -Giorgio Armani - Blender brush
jochan2 5/7/2005 11:45:00 AM
This is a great foundation brush - feels soft on your skin and has just the right bristle length. This works like a dream with LSF so much so that my skin looks almost air-brushed. Would definitely repurchase.
