Eyeliner -Kat Von D - Tattoo Liner

This is my new HG black liquid liner. Awesome packaging and formula. Ultra thin brush tip is firm with slight flexing for ultimate control in creating the perfect strokes for subtle or dramatic eye lining. Also doesn't transfer or smudge after many many hours of wearing!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Liquid Liner in Perversion
rated 3 of 5

This used to be my HG eyeliner for everyday. I disliked the round well packaging, but they recently changed back to the sleek tube version and the brush is even thinner than before, which is awesome. However, the formula also seems to have changed. It's not the matte black I liked before... Has kind of a glossy finish and also tends to have a peeling effect after a while of wearing it. I have now switched to Kat Von D's liquid liner in the matte black color Trooper.

Blush -NARS - Sex Appeal
rated 5 of 5

SO impressed by this unconventional NARS item. I was initially very turned off by the chalky appearance, but once I actually applied it to the cheeks it gave the hint of blush I was looking for. I used to be very into Nars blushes, but lately have been turned off by them because of their high pigmented quality. Maybe b.c I'm getting older, but bright blushes and shimmers are things I don't reach for anymore. Although, this blush definitely won't show up on darker skintones, it shows up on my medium/olive/MAC NC35 skin. I like that I can never overdo it with this blush no matter how heavy handed I am. This is now my go-to, foolproof, subdued-enough-for-daytime, "barely there-makeup" look.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
rated 5 of 5

"Where have you been all my life?!" was my thought the first time I used the 217 to blend out my eyeshadow. It is flawless. It is so soft and so easy to use and blends out the hardest edges for an airbrushed look. I know it's considered pricey for a dinky lil shadow brush, but believe me, nothing else compares.

Blush -MAC - Melba

Perfect matte, peach blush. Compliments many skin tones (even my odd, olive-toned NC 30 skin) and thank goodness this isn't a limited edition item b/c I will be rebuying this forever!

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 5 of 5
itshannah 12/29/2008 10:11:00 PM

Very impressed with this drugstore item. Liquid eyeliners are my everyday staple. I've been loyal to Urban Decay's liquid liners, until they changed their packaging from the slim tubes to the messy, round wells. Happened to pick up 2 of these Revlon ones at Riteaid's BOGOF sale and so far I'm loving it b/c it's wearing well on my lids for about 6 hours now... not a single streak or run. Didn't prime my lids today so they are extra oily therefore, I know this stuff is great!

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Dainty
rated 2 of 5
itshannah 12/29/2008 10:00:00 PM

*yawn* boring... I was excited to try Sonic Chic blushes (kinda late to join the hype) and Dainty was the first thing I picked. Other than the fun appearance of the sparkly, marbled dome.... the results are lackluster; soft pink blush with shimmer... the same shade I've seen with many other blushes.

Highlighters -NARS - Highlighting Blush Powder in Albatross
rated 5 of 5

NOW I know why people say this is the best highlighter ever. The results are subtle and pure sophistication. It is so finely milled and sheer and melds into the skin to produce a natural glow w/o tacky glitter and supershine. blends with blush well and has good lasting power. Love that you can use this as an eyeshadow to highlight or as an all over lid wash. This has become my daily staple.

Lipstick -MAC - 4N - The N Collection
rated 5 of 5

This color is very close to my natural lip color... and the results are a perfect MLBB look. This is the perfect GO-TO lipstick for a subdued natural look where you want a polished lip, but don't want to look like you tried. It's the perfect lipstick to carry around at ALL times.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Gilded #806
rated 5 of 5
itshannah 8/11/2008 4:21:00 PM

AMAZING! Such rich pigmentation, excellent metallic sheen and unbeatable quality. From what I see, it looks like the dark side of this duo resembles MAC Black Ore LE pigment. The Gold side is TDF.... so lux and gorgeous. Excellent deal for the price, delivers great results like h/e eyeshadows. The packaging is super cute and effecient too.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black

Awful. Clumpy and non-curling lashes and racoon eyes within minutes. Another d/s letdown. So far my go to d/s mascara is MF 2000 Calorie mascara. I'm not sure what the rage is all about for Voluminous.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Earth Angel Duo
rated 5 of 5
itshannah 8/8/2008 12:36:00 AM

This is an awesome and complimentary duo for olive-toned girls. ONe side is a lux, satiny dark green and the other is sort of a shimmery, taupey beige. You can use together or seperately. I like to use the taupey shade alone for a subdued, neutral smokie eye. I can see this becoming a new staple.

Blush -Laura Geller - Blush n Brighten Roseberry
rated 4 of 5
itshannah 8/5/2008 1:25:00 AM

Gorgeous blush! Way less shimmery than LG Pink Grapefruit and highly pigmented... I'd say it's a close cousin of NARS Sin- a tad less shimmery and a tad more reddish than plummy... but has that deep blushed vibe that Sin has.

Highlighters -Smashbox - Soft Lights - Shimmer
rated 5 of 5
itshannah 8/3/2008 3:26:00 AM

This is an awesome highlighter. Means a lot coming from someone who abhors most highlighters. Its very finely milled and melds into the skin to give a natural glow, rather than sitting awkwardly upon the face and giving that dreaded high-shine, glittery, sweaty hot mess look. My only minor complain is the screw top pot- hate it... flip top is way better.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Light Flush
rated 1 of 5
itshannah 8/3/2008 3:21:00 AM

Awful in my opinion. Way to shimmery (borderline glittery) and not fine-milled enough. Results= Major disco-ball face.... shimmer settled into my pores and accentuated all imperfections. Also, it has this strange metallic sheen on me. The whole look was horrifying.
