Cleansers -Shiseido - Ultimate Cleansing Oil
ilovelomos 3/29/2012 8:33:00 AM
I'm on the fence with this one. I like it a lot, but I am not completely satisfied if you know what I mean. Maybe I just have high standards for an oil cleanser, but there's something about this that just doesn't satisfy me. If you're new to cleansing oils, this is a good place to start, because this product has non-occlusive ingredients. Apply this on a dry face, rub it around gently, and rinse off. Double cleanse after. I think this is a must. Asian women prioritize double-cleansing, and they usually have good skin. If you're using a budge-proof sunscreen from Shiseido, use this in conjunction with it.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
ilovelomos 3/29/2012 8:27:00 AM
I don't get the hype. The bottle is beautiful, but it smells sickeningly sweet. I like sweet smelling perfumes, but Flowerbomb smells cheap. I've heard people say that Flowerbomb is "the sex." Well, I'm here to tell you that NO, it's not. Not for me, at least. If you're a self-respecting woman in your mid 20's who wants to give off an air of class, elegance, grace, and understated sexiness, don't reach for this. This will make you smell like a high school girl who went overboard with Victoria's Secret strawberries and champagne body spray. I only gave it 2 stars because of the packaging. It's absolutely gorgeous!

Blush -Kevyn Aucoin - The Pure Powder Glow Blush in Myracle (Hot Pink)
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 8:30:00 AM
It looks HOT pink in the pan, but when applied with a light hand over a natural bronzer, it just looks AMAZING. The pigmentation is high high quality. The price is pretty expensive, but this is worth it... The packaging is sleek and very streamlined. Highly recommend!!!

Blush -Make Up For Ever - Powder Blush
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 8:24:00 AM
This is one of the best blushes at Sephora. The packaging may not be as sleek as YSL or as cute as Benefit, but these blushes are really high quality for a reasonable price. I am a blush ADDICT, I tell ya, and I can say that these blushes are the real deal. I have this in 2 shades: Soft Pink 97 which is quite similar to Narcisse, but MUFE has alot more shimmer. I usually hate shimmer in my blushes, but this one is so natural. I really do love it. I also have this in Pearly Orange 25, very similar to Nars Orgasm, but I like this so much more. These are great blushes that are worth a try! I'm planning on buying Sunflower 71 next which is a true yellow shade! Can't wait!

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - CK One
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 8:15:00 AM
This has been advertised as a unisex fragrance, but I think it's too masculine for girls and way too sweet for men. I remember when it first came out.... Everyone scrambled to get their hands on this, and everyone has a bottle of this, but I wouldn't categorize this as a "classic" fragrance. Very nostalgic yes... but not classic. Just my 2 cents.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 8:06:00 AM
I don't get the hype about this product. I bought the one that comes without the kabuki brush, so initially, I thought that I was lacking the tools to make it work to its full potential. Well, I have since purchased a kabuki brush, and I still don't get the hype. I don't use foundation at all, only a bit of concealer and loose powder, so there may be no use for this in my makeup routine. I think I'm going to put it for swap. You can get this from e-tailers (with the almost exact formulation, which is just basically silica) for a much cheaper price.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 8:02:00 AM
Arguably the most overrated blush on MUA, and all I can say about it is that it doesn't live up to it's name. It doesn't give me the "orgasm" flush in the least. It's a beautifully pigmented color, and that I give credit to, but I guess it's just my skin tone, but this blush does not give me the natural flush I long for in my blushes. It gives me this glittery shimmer in my cheeks, a little too much for my liking, and the pink tones in this blush come through on my skin in a very garish shade. This is so overrated, and I've used better blushes offered at lower prices for the same quality.

Bronzers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Bronzer
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 7:56:00 AM
I like this product, and I don't understand why everyone hates it so much. It's a great bronzer for me. I'm very light-skinned, and do not like shimmer in my bronzers. There is no shimmer in this bronzer, and the shade itself is very natural. The price is a bit hefty for a drugstore product. I have one of Guerlain's infamous bronzers, but I reach for this a lot more often. It doesn't look muddy or orange on me at all. I use this in conjunction with Narcisse blush, and I look great. Oh yah, here's a little factoid for you. Cameron Diaz is wearing this in Sunkissed in the June 2009 Vogue cover!

Blush -Cargo - The big easy
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 7:04:00 AM
I bought this at the Ala Moana shopping center in Hawaii when I was there earlier this year. I was so excited when I bought this product, and loved it when I began using it, but the hype has simmered down, and I don't reach for it as often. It's a very soft pinkish shimmer with a bit of peach. The ingredients are great, and shouldn't cause problems for anybody. My main problem with it is that it's so muted. I prefer pigmented shades, because even though I may apply too much, I can just blend the hell out of it, but I just can't work with soft muted shades that require more than one swipe. Oh, and the tin packaging sucks.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Peaches
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 7:00:00 AM
As soon as I saw this shade at the MAC counter, my heart skipped a beat, and I knew this was for me. I was planning on buying Pink Swoon, but purchased this instead. This produces a very flushed peachy glow on me. Yes, indeed, it lives up to it's name. I took off one lippie, because the glycols in this blush give me these small bumps on my cheeks which I don't care for. Otherwise it's a highly pigmented shade that is a true peach. I recommend this for anyone and everyone looking for a peach shade. It's gorgeous, and best of all, there is no fake shimmer.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Aglow
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:48:00 AM
This is the first blush I ever bought. The SA at the Clinique counter told me that this was their most natural shade, and I believed her, but I now know that this is a terrible "natural" shade for light-skinned gals. It looks great on my friends with dark tones in their skin. It ends up looking like a sienna color on me, a reddish brown. I really don't like how it makes me look. I don't know if I'm getting the application part wrong, but no matter which brush I use, it just doesn't make me look "natural."

Loose Powders -Almay - Luxury loose powder
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:44:00 AM
I have repurchased this about 5 times. This is a really good drugstore product. We all can't afford to buy T. Le Clerc all the time, even though it's a superior product, and Almay's loose powder is a great great alternative. The ingredients do not bother my skin AT ALL, and that's saying a lot since I get reactions easily from most major drugstore makeup products. I bought it for $15 at my local K-Mart, and I use the Light shade which is perfect for me. I refuse to wear foundation. I only use concealer where needed, and use this powder to set my makeup!

Lipstick -MAC - Slimshine in Funshine [DISCONTINUED]
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:40:00 AM
I'm asian with a very light complexion. This is the first MAC slimshine I tried, and I plan on buying more. I bought this at a department store in Korea, and I bought this for about 20 USD. Since MAC is imported in, the price was a bit higher than US prices. This is the only lip product I used up to the end... even using a lip brush when I could no longer twist the product up! This is how much I love this. I have very pigmented lips, and this really brings out the perfect plum shade in my lips, but also mutes the stronger hues in my lips to make my lips look healthy. Five stars!

Lipstick -Shiseido - Sheer Gloss Lipstick Clear Orange S2
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:34:00 AM
I'm asian, light-skinned, with very pigmented lips. I bought this on the recommendation of a Shiseido SA when I was shopping at the DFS at Incheon Airport in Korea. She said this was the best MLBB shade for asian women, and I fell for it. I was seriously thinking of buying the berry sheer, but no.... the SA kept on convincing me that orange tint would not even show up on my lips. Well, she was dead wrong. It looks orangeish pink on me... I look funky as hell. I honestly don't know who I'd recommend this for. I DO like the purple casing though.

Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - Peppermint Castille Soap
ilovelomos 6/19/2009 6:30:00 AM
The best body wash, hands down. If I'm not using the original Dove bar, I like reaching for this. This is so refreshing all year-round, since I live in the tropics... truly a lifesaver after a balmy night on the town. I even think the packaging is perfect. The quirky sayings on the bottle are a hoot. I buy this by the bulk at my local Vitamin World whenever they have specials. I also use this as a face wash in a pinch whenever I run out of my Aveeno calming face wash. I agree with the "dilute... dilute" advice. It does have peppermint oil in it, so yes, do DILUTE!
