I hate this on my boyfriend. when he wears it I want him to shower and scrub it off. it makes me gag! he bought it for himself and loves it but I think it is disgusting. like viscerally.

this is drying no matter how I apply it. even if I use a sheerer lipstick and then use this on top. also this settles on my lips horizontally. like if I rub my lips together it collects in lines. total fail. 35AUD. I will never go near illamasqua ls again.

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation

I absolutely do not understand the raves for this product. - this does not last more than 4 hrs on my normal skin - the coverage goes patchy on my skin as it fades - the shades are fairly yellow I don't see the point of foundations that don't last, and for me even if i powder with this by the end of the day it is wearing off in patches. It almost seems to cause some kind of rosacea irritation on me as it fades off too. I much prefer my revlon colorstay. will not buy again.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Liner
rated 5 of 5
hbwf87 5/14/2012 7:03:00 PM

buy again: yes biggest tip: store it on its side not upside down and it wont dry out. review: this product is replacing mac penultimate for me in my routine. and at half the price. this is not totally waterproof but over an e/s primer it lasts all day perfectly. I prefer the synthetic tip to the mac felt tip. I get a very very precise eye and can line even between my lashes for a perfectly opaque black line. why I love this: I use it when I dont want to use fluidline and a brush and it looks perfect and is very fast and effective. will repurchase until it is d/c.

Polishes -OPI - Rainbow Connection
rated 5 of 5
hbwf87 12/25/2011 7:32:00 AM

I love glitters, but also hate the removal process. So this is not a polish I wear every week or every month, but one I'll love having for parties, special occasions or like New Years parties. I layered it over ChG Ruby Pumps for Christmas and felt so festive! Google "Foil Method Glitter Removal" if you need tips on how to remove this polish completely. This is definitely more of a pain to remove than other polishes like Mad as a Hatter, because the individual glitters are so large, and the acetone struggles to get underneath them. But worth it for me. Took me probably 15 minutes to remove after Christmas though!

Blush -Illamasqua - Katie
rated 5 of 5

I LOVE this blush. It is one of the only illamasqua products i'd without a doubt buy again, even at $40 a pop in Australia. I am NW15-20 and this looks like the most innocent doll colour on me. love it. It also seems to highlight my face. I use it without bronzer for a really bright carefree look. People comment when I'm wearing it that I look "Peaches and Cream" It is very loosely packed down though as a pressed blush, and product is easily wasted if you more than tap your brush into it. I always end up blowing away the loosened blush dust to keep my MU drawers clean. I'd give this 10 lipsticks if i could. My favorite blush, replacing springsheen as my easy no fuss perfect blush.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Pink About It [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

Overall rating: 5 Price: 2 (cheap) Packaging quality: 3 Buy again: Yes I love this lipstick! it is great quality, highly pigmented, and goes on well over chapstick. It is perfect at full finish or just blotted for subtle colour. As for the packaging - the lid stopped clicking in to place snugly after a few months and the lid comes off easily in my purse, however i like that you can see the lipstick colour through the lid.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
hbwf87 8/28/2010 4:50:00 AM

I love this mascara. I curl my medium length straight lashes with a spoon (google it!). Then I use this mascara just to define, separate and blacken my lashes. The result is a very natural look, perfect for daytime. The brush is great imo (i have the straight brush) and allows me to get to the very base of my lashes. This is my alternate (cheaper) fav to full'n'soft. Overall - 4 Price - 2 (cheap!) Packaging - 4 (can look cheap-ish and bulky) Buy again - Yes

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel eyeliner in Chocolate Shimmer
rated 4 of 5
hbwf87 7/7/2010 8:04:00 AM

I love this product. I swapped for it, and couldn't be happier! The product goes on smoothly and slightly more wet than Mac gel liners. Which i love, because that means if you make a mistake, a quick cleanup with your pinky finger is all you need - i like that it's pliable for that little while longer than mac. With my MAC blacktrack i need to take off all my eye MU or suck it up and make a thicker line if i mess up. this item was a few months old when i swapped for it, i soaked it in alcohol for about 15 minutes, scraped the top off, and it is like new! not nearing dry at all. i keep all my gel and cream eye shadows and liners upside down and in a cool dark place to prevent them drying out. i love this product!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush
rated 3 of 5
hbwf87 6/11/2010 10:50:00 AM

*edit - i now use this brush for my manicures, i dip it in acetone to clean my cuticles - google the megan chair cleanup method to know what i'm talking about* okay. time to get real. i usually use the mac 263 angled liner brush. and this ecotools brush does not measure up to my hopes for an angled liner brush. which is not a surprise, as its not meant to be mac comparable. but i just don't think its deserving of the rep it has. my bristles were too loose - so i hammered the ferrule down a bit tighter, just lightly, so that its more dense. don't hammer the ferrule too hard or you'll split the metal - making the brush even looser. this is a great brow brush for me, not a liner brush. i can use it for eyeliner if i am using a powder product and don't want a really precise line - its okay as a smudgy smokey liner of a powder product. the ecotools eye brushes are a huge disappointment (probably just because of their rep on here). especially the eyeshadow ones - they are synthetic, which imo, actually impedes shadow placement - the fibres suck up the powders. i do love the face brushes though.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment
rated 1 of 5
hbwf87 4/21/2010 5:34:00 AM

THIS IS NOT PURE PAWPAW OINTMENT!! Urgh. It is Petroleum based people. They don't have to list it in the ingredients because the petroleum is a base and not an "active ingredient" - please don't be fooled into ordering this international people! so not worth it!!! i am australian. i know this is some kindof australian cult product, but it ain't all that really. this is vaseline pretty much, with pawpaw added. i don't buy the hype on this - it is a petroleum produt, so I am not going to revere it. i use it to keep my feet soft - it works not any differently to regular vaseline. they do not publish the ingredients directly on the container i have - seems suss to me. anyway its fine when used like vaseline. don't expect it to do wonders for your face if you can't handle petroleum or if you get milia. in fact i would say don't put it on your face at all. but i know some do. a mediocre product at a low price. pretty good. i won't buy again.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - # 239 Eye Shader Brush
rated 5 of 5
hbwf87 3/14/2010 4:09:00 AM

I gave the "packaging" a 3 because the foil label wears off on mac brushes - i do put clear n/p on it to avoid this. I love this brush. it really has made me fall in love with e/s that i had previously thought was too low in pigmentation. you can really pack on colour (but a lot of the effect really depends on what base you are using, as you need to have something to hold onto the product you are packing on). if i lost this brush i would buy it again for sure. this and a blending brush are all you need for an easy eyeshadow look. i love the 272 (or the 217) and the 224 for blending. if you only wanted to ever buy 2 brushes, i'd say get the 239 and 217! magic!

worst worsty worst of the worst. crease city too expensive its like putting vaseline on your lids actually its even worse - sometimes even vaseline as a light moisturiser will make shadows stick.

Highlighters -Stila - Contouring Trio
rated 3 of 5
hbwf87 1/11/2010 6:05:00 AM

i like the concept of this palette but i dislike the "flash" shade. so really i only like the dark and light shade. Flash - has too much really chunky glitter in it Light - is pretty much blanc type e/s by mac Dark - is similar to perhaps wedge e/s i enjoy this, i like having them all in the one palette, but you could just use e/s in similar colours to contour! the led light is a bit tacky and the packaging is too clunky. contains bizmuth which really irritates my skin. oops.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
hbwf87 1/11/2010 5:58:00 AM

I love this MSF. I started with Revlon Brighten Mineral Finishing Powder and really liked it but wanted a more intense highlighter (while still being neutral/pinkish). Perfect Topping is a great pink-champagne toned highlight. The bismuth kinda hurts my pores but if I wear it over liquid foundation thats no big deal. It can look cakey imo if layered over liquid though. I wish the bismuth did not make my face so hot. I wanted to try a msfn too but probably won't. I think that Revlon Brighten is comparable to this, although it is a more silvery/yellow toned product when swatched (although it looks pink in the pan).
